Chapter 29: Defensive Walls Almost Collapse
"Is that how I feel?"
"How come?"
"Sometimes things that are not realized can make people have feelings. Besides, I already said that I like you."
"But I haven't."
"Better not yet than not?"
"Are you patiently waiting for me?"
"Wait where?"
"Yeah wait until I can like you."
Rigel laughed a little but deep down he felt very happy with Leandra's statement.
"Sure, don't force it."
"You're so serious hahahaha."
"Yeah, I'm serious about my feelings."
"Oh my gosh, what's wrong with you tonight, Rigel? it sucks like that. It's been very wise since then."
"Because tomorrow I will discuss the material, so I practice again."
"Hah? Where? On-campus again? In my class huh?"
"You have a lot of questions, not all of them. It's a fellow doctor's show."
"Oh guess."
"Besides, you don't have to wait for me to fill in the material on campus if you want to meet."
"That's not what it means."
"So what?"
"It is okay."
Leandra had finished eating earlier, and now she accompanied Rigel who was still eating voraciously.
"You don't have work?"
Leandra shook her head.
"I also have a day off tomorrow, I don't have class."
"Oh yeah, tomorrow after the discussion is over, how about going to Mother's place?"
"Which mother?"
"Your mother."
"Hmm okay, I miss you too."
"If you miss or play there, that's okay, just say it."
"It's not like that either."
Rigel finished his meal while Leandra was playing with her cell phone. After the activity was over, they sat in the living room. Leandra saw Rigel who was busy with his work.
Leandra's gaze focused on the screen on her cellphone.
[Don't be sorry if I choose another woman, I'll make sure your life won't be happy either.]
A message that surprised Leandra. The message was from Adrian who kept threatening.
[Go ahead, I'm already happy with my husband too!]
Leandra's reply was deliberately explained like that. He left the message and surfed on other social media. Leandra stopped at one of the photos, her eyes did not symbolize happiness but sadness. I don't know where the tears came from. Suddenly it made Rigel confused.
Because they were not sitting close together, Rigel approached Leandra.
"Why Leah?"
Leandra didn't answer anything, she was crying even more while holding her phone.
Rigel was confused by Leandra's condition, he had not realized what was on his cellphone and what he saw so Leandra cried like that.
Leandra put her cellphone on the table and covered her crying face. Rigel saw what was on the cellphone and what was there was an upload in the form of a photo of Adrian with his girlfriend or maybe his wife who was pregnant, maybe she was going to give birth soon.
Leandra still has feelings for Adrian, even though so far Adrian is a good person and has not hurt her. However, those feelings are not entirely for Adrian anymore.
Rigel looked at Leandra deeply, he knew exactly what he was feeling. Maybe there is a little disappointment in his heart if Leandra has not been able to forget it.
Rigel tried to calm Leandra by patting Leandra on the shoulder. The two hands that had covered Leandra now no longer looked at Rigel now and then, I don't know what he wanted to convey to Rigel too but he was so worn out because he was crying.
"Are you okay?"
Leandra shook her head slowly with tears still in her eyes.
Rigel couldn't stand seeing women cry like that, he couldn't bear it. Finally, Rigel ventured to hug Leandra because it calmed him down and unexpectedly Leandra accepted the hug. It's getting worse.
If a woman is asked about her condition and patted on the shoulder, sometimes she will cry even more.
"Men are evil in this world," said Leandra who was still crying in Rigel's arms.
Rigel only rubbed the back of Leandra's body. He didn't want to answer for fear that there would be an argument.
Not long after, Leandra let go of his embrace, maybe Rigel's shoulder was wet because of Leandra's tears.
"Sorry," Leandra said, wiping her tears.
"It's okay, I understand."
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't like Adrian, I'm sorry. But after this, I don't know what to do anymore."
Rigel nodded his head while looking at Leandra.
"You're not angry?"
"Angry for what, we can't force someone's life anyway."
Leandra cried a little again.
"Why are you crying again?" asked Rigel jokingly.
"It's a shame you're so kind, it's too bad to admit it."
Rigel just smiled.
Leandra took a deep breath.
"If you need a hug, say so, I'm ready for it."
I don't know what wind caused Leandra to hug Rigel again on purpose.
"Sorry," said Leandra who crouched in Rigel's chest.
"Yeah, why do you keep apologizing, it's okay Lea."
"Sorry to hug you."
"How comfortable?"
Leandra did not answer the question because she was embarrassed.
"A little."
"It's your fault why you didn't want to hug earlier, you must be ashamed."
Leandra pinched Rigel's chest. while Rigel just laughed.
"Oh thank you."
"If you want to rest, you don't have to think too much."
Leandra followed what Rigel said, she immediately fell asleep.
According to Rigel's promise, today, after the discussion from the hospital, he will visit Leandra's house. Around one o'clock in the afternoon, Rigel returned, not long after that they started their journey to Leandra's house.
"You didn't buy something like that for Mom?"
"Can you stop by at the store later?"
They stopped at a shop and Leandra went to buy something for her mother.
"Here," Rigel gave the money to Leandra.
"For what, you don't have to."
"Yes, buy it for Mother."
"You don't have to, you still have a lot of money yesterday. Just keep it."
Rigel put the money back in Leandra's bag which was left in the car. After a few minutes Leandra entered the shop she came back with some food for her mother and it seems she bought some food for herself too.
"I bought this is okay right?"
