Chapter 18: Class 1-A

- April -

After having gotten the results of the exam and celebrating with both my family and Mina, it was already springtime.

Times flew by very quickly and today was the first day at U.A. High School. I was actually really excited about going to school...

Well, never thought that I would actually ever feel that way.

After a hearty breakfast and a lovely hug from my mom, I finally made my way towards the school.

As usual, I met up with Mina and we went to school together.

It also didn't really take that long to arrive at the school since Mina's parents offered to drive us all the way there with their car.

Although we'd planned to arrive there a bit earlier, but due to the fact that Mina had overslept because she had been too excited to fall asleep last night, we arrived a bit later than planned.

Standing in front of the entrance, even though we had already seen the school building during the entrance exam, it had nonetheless somehow a different kind of feeling to it when you actually realized that this enormous and awe-inspiring facility was going to be our school as of today.

Anyway, we were currently inside the building and searching for our classroom. Fortunately, we had been both assigned to Class 1-A.

I was actually really curious as to who didn't make it into the class due to my influence.

The acceptance rate of U.A. High's hero course was less than one in three hundred every year. Other than the four people admitted through recommendations, 36 were admitted through the regular exam. Those 36 were split into only two classes, with 18 in each.

This meant that because I had taken a spot in Class 1-A, someone was bound to have failed, or at least get admitted into Class 1-B, or even into the 'Department of General Education' instead.

I only hoped that it wasn't someone I had been looking forward to meet.

While thinking about the possible unlucky fellow, we finally arrived before the huge door of our classroom. It was really huge and I didn't know which alumni of the school hadn't been able to fit inside the door that had compelled the school to make it that big instead.

Coincidentally or not, in front of the door stood Midoriya who was seemingly mumbling to himself.

We walked up to him and I gave him a light pat on the shoulder, which almost made him fall to the ground in surprise.

"Hey, what are you mumbling about? Let's go in already. I'm Jin Jayden by the way, and the girl next to me is Ashido Mina." I introduced Mina and myself to him.

"Heey~" Mina enthusiastically greeted him with a smile.

Midoriya was stumped and extremely surprised that we came up to him to introduce ourselves, not to mention that Mina was a girl, and he couldn't really properly talk with girls, yet.

"A-a-ahh.. Y-Yes, nice to m-meet you, Jin-kun.. A-a-ashido-san." Midoriya stutteringly and nervously replied.

The funny thing was that although he replied, he still hadn't introduced himself to us. So, we silently stared at him for a bit longer until he finally realized his mistake, causing his face to immediately turn beet red in embarrassment.

"Uhh.. I-I am M-Midoriya Izuku." said Midoriya embarrassingly.

We only chuckled at his shy and timid behavior and decided to help him out.

"Relax~, we will be classmates from today onwards, so don't be so nervous around us, okay?" Mina said with a huge smile on her face.

"Yup, you don't have to be so nervous around us. Let's be friends. And also, let's go in already. We've been standing here for a minute now." I added on.

Midoriya only meekly nodded in agreement, but you could see that he had slightly relaxed at our words.

When we opened the door, the first thing that greeted our sight was Iida reprimanding Bakugo for placing his feet on his desk which was further leading to an argument between the two.

When they seemingly finished their little conflict, they shifted their attention towards us. Bakugo was of course immediately disgruntled at seeing Midoriya, whereas Iida was walking towards the timid green-haired boy and started to talk to him.

Iida firstly introduced himself to Midoriya and then passionately apologized for he had seemingly misjudged Midoriya at the entrance exam.

While they were talking with each other, I was observing the students inside the classroom. It seemed like we were one of the last ones to arrive. The people inside the classroom were as followed:

Aoyama Yuga, the extremely flamboyant blondie.

Asui Tsuyu, the frog-like and straightforward girl.

Ojiro Mashirao, the calm and noble martial artist with a tail.

Kaminari Denki, the social and energetic boy with a Quirk that currently made him stupid or rather even stupider than he was when it was being overused.

Koda Koji, a very shy and quiet person who rarely spoke and preferred to use sign language to communicate. And, oh.. He kinda looked like a rock.

Sato Rikido, the Sugar da-..*Cough* *Cough*..the Sugarman.. He was a tall and very muscular young man who was interested in sweets and baking.

Shoji Mezo, a very friendly and gentle person despite his frightening appearance.

Jiro Kyoka, the dark purple-haired music girl who had an unenthusiastic and somewhat teasing personality.

Sero Hanta, a very friendly and sociable but also sometimes loud and showy person.

Tokoyami Fumikage, a reserved, serious and focused person who looked like a black bird.

Todoroki Shoto, one of the two individuals in the class who got in through an official recommendation. Currently, he still had a cold and aloof personality which largely stemmed from his abusive upbringing.

Hagakure Toru, a very bubbly, cheery and easygoing girl who seemed very similar to Mina in this regard. She had a completely invisible body and she was only identifiable through either holding or wearing an object, like pieces of clothing or accessories.

Of course there was also our friend Kirishima Eijiro, who had a complete transformation from his shy and cowardly personality to the now manly and confident one, which was also reflected by his new look -- his spiky red hair.

And last but not least, Yaoyorozu Momo. The other one who got in through a recommendation. She was a very beautiful tall girl with a rather mature physique, considering her age. She was a prudent, dedicated, level-headed and calm person who had an excellent judgement on different kinds of situations. She also grew up in a noble and wealthy environment, therefore somehow influencing her in ending her sentences sometimes with "-desuwa".

That would be all. Naturally, I had already included Bakugo, Iida, Midoriya, Mina, myself, and of course Uraraka Ochako, who should arrive in a few seconds, in this list.

This also meant that the one who didn't make it into Class 1-A was Mineta Minoru, the extremely perverted grape head.

And I must say, I was certainly pleased with this outcome. I was of the opinion that neither was his Quirk that strong nor was his personality that likable, so I had no problems with having taken his spot.

He was more or less only in the show for perverted jokes, and just in general for some comedic relief.

Shortly afterwards, Uraraka had also finally arrived and now all of the students of 1-A were currently present!

It was now only our teacher who had yet to arrive.

But seemingly right on my cue, a person wrapped in a yellow sleeping bag arrived in front of the classroom door. He was lazily reprimanding us for standing in the way and for seemingly wasting precious time.

This man was Aizawa Shota, our homeroom teacher. He was also known as the Pro Hero 'Eraser Head'.

Aizawa-sensei was a slender and tall pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair and often half-opened black eyes. His facial hair remained unkempt and his eyes looked tired and flat.

"It's kind of sudden, but put your sports uniform on and go out onto the field." Aizawa said lazily before simply walking away, leaving some clueless students behind with this statement.
