Chapter 2: Safeguard Academy
Safeguard Academy known throughout the world of Chars as first and best academy for super powered individuals. Many yearn to join the academy, but not anyone can become a student of Safeguard Academy, because it is for the elites of elites.
Lucifer's parents were famous and well respected defenders of Chars, that was why he was able to even participate in the awakening ceremony coupled with the fact that is sister possess a SSS rank talent.
Lucifer walked calmly to the awakening hall when he drew the attention of everyone there.
RM 1: "hey, isn't that Lucifer, the brother of the Inferno defender, known for not leaving the body of slain beasts behind?"
RM 2: "yeah, I have even seen a picture of both of them in one of her posts before she went for a raid"
RM 3: "damn, how could a family be blessed with such beauty and handsomeness, sigh, this life isn't fair"
RM 1: "I also heard that their parents also had SSS talents and they also increased their power level to SS rank before they met their demise in an SSS rank gate that's was confused for S rank"
Lucifer heard what they said but didn't pay them any attention as he had heard all this before his rebirth.
Defenders are the title given to the super powered individuals who go on raids in the gates and they are divided into power levels from the Rank F to Rank SSS. Rank F is a rank every Super powered individuals begin with and then they began to strengthen themselves and use of their talents making them increase in ranks.
Lucifer was the first Rank X defender to ever been born in Chars and the only one to be able to fight rank X and XX beasts when they started to appeared because of his talent of infinite replication alone.
Lucifer: "sigh, I wonder if there are other ranks above rank XXX, I would have found out if I wasn't complacent and put my trust in those backstabbing and greedy bastards"
Lucifer got to the hall and looked for the nearest empty seat to sit on. He sat down and closed his eyes and waited for the dean of safeguard Academy to come and give his speech and kick start the awakening ceremony.
???: "hey excuse me, can I sit here"
He heard a sweet crisps voice that is soothing to the ears and opened his eyes and saw the most beautiful girl other than his sister. She has white long hair that reached her waist with pale skin, she possessed a curvy body and moderately sized bust on her chest. He looked closely at her and remembered that she awakened a supporting talent in his previous life making her a side character in the safeguard academy, he was on friendly terms with her but after the death of his sister, he distanced himself from everyone including her and filled his days with training and replicating abilities he could get his hands on.
???: "hello, am talking to you, can you hear me"
Lucifer: "hah, yes you can sit down, my name is Lucifer Morningstar by the way, what's yours"
In his previous life, she was the one who took the initiative to talk to him but now he wants to reciprocate for neglecting her back then.
The white haired girl was stunned when she heard his name. Everyone knew the legendary Morningstar couples and the current Inferno defender and here she was sitting close to someone with the surname. Even though she is a member of a powerful and well-known family, she still respect the Morningstar couples for their devotion and commitment in protecting their world.
???: "I'm sorry if I disturbed your rest, and my name is Eve Sinclair"
Lucifer: "Eve, what a beautiful name for one such as beautiful as you"
A hint of red appeared on her face as she said.
Eve: "you flatter me"
As Lucifer was about to continue his flirting with Eve, the dean walked which made all the aspirants stand to great him.
Dean: "hmm, I can see that this year is full of good seedlings. Welcome to safeguard academy, the very first academy those dreaming to be defenders, now I have to warn you that not everyone can awaken their talents or can even have a good talent, so don't get your hopes high and later have them shattered. So with all that out of the way, before we get to the awakening ceremony, I should tell you the different types of talents, we have the physical talent, the intellectual talent, supporting talent, summoning talent and elemental talent, there more out there which did not fall under the mentioned talent types, we call them special talents. Now without wasting anymore of your time, let the awakening ceremony begin"
The first person went and awakenawakens a rank D talent which left him in despair and that's how it went, some awaken rank F talents, some rank D talents and only a few were able to awaken rank C talent until someone walked to the front with a confident smile on his face.
Seeing the person there, anger flashed n Lucifer's eyes as he started formulating ways to kill the young man in front of him.
Eve seeing like that and how he clenched his fist, asked.
Eve: "is everything alright, Lucifer?"
Lucifer: "yeah, everything is alright, I was just thinking of the type of talent I will awaken, that's all"
Not buying what he said, but she decided to let it go as it does not concern her.
Announcer: "Gerald Alfonso, Rank SS Elemental talent, lightening descent"
Everyone cheered for him for awakening such a powerful talent, his future is bright.
Gerald was happy seeing all the praises of everyone and for not awakening a trash talent.
Announcer: "please follow him and he will guide you on your tour of the safeguard academy"
Gerald walked with pride as he walked the man the announcer pointed to who appeared to be respectful after awakening his talent.
After a while it got to the turn of Lucifer and Eve to walk to the front for their awakening.
