Chapter 5: Chapter 5- Each Others circumstances
On the fifth morning, I was really bored, it was expected. Waiting for people was a hassle especially for a kid.
I was leisurely walking by a groove when something attacked me and with no seconds to spare, my whole body had come under some kind of binding.

But I didn't do anything to kill the monster? Amanori, was it you? Did you do anything?
[No, it seems your long awaited guest has arrived.]
She said with excitement in her voice. Maybe she was looking forward to it too.
My mind started working again. I have encountered these fang snakes before too and I know how much damage it could do after binding its target, to be able to kill it and not harm the one who is in the binding.
The one who I was waiting for must be good with his hands. Before long, the binding was undone and I saw the long snake was cut in 4 pieces, its head was gone. In Front of me was a man standing, he looked like a mild mannered man, maybe under 40 year old. He may be younger. He had auburn coloured hair and short beard very neatly cut and was wearing a navy blue coloured what looked to be a battle coat and also a black cape.
With a great sword at his back, he looked like the picture of a swordsman veteran. Apart from that, he looked a bit dirty.. He did look ragged, maybe this land had got to him.
On the other hand, When I looked at him, I felt a little shy. I was just wearing a pelt which was tied to look like a robe. Apart from my shyness, I tried to talk but I just couldn't, no sound or words left my mouth.
Ooh yeah I haven't talked in years and actually I don't remember when I last spoke with this body.
What a shame, he would definitely think I am some wild animal. All this time with Amanori and with the system, I have been talking in my mind, so I had no problem so far, but now I can't even communicate. my brain was being overheated and the man looked like he was waiting for an introduction and a thank you.
At last I found something. I nodded to the man and made him follow me to the campsite to say he was welcomed. Sign language is also very good in these situations.
Thank god he understood me, he must be a sharp fella, hmm but I thought there were supposed to be 2 people. Where's the other one?
An awkward silence overcame us, as I was clearly unable to talk but it seemed the man still wasn't ready to talk to me, he must have been waiting for the right time but because of the snake attack, he had to make compromises, I am thankful to him for saving me but I could save myself there you know? Still, it's better to not break a man's pride.
Hmm what to do now?
Hey Amanori I can't talk so how can I break the ice? Got any ideas?
I looked to Amanori for advice. She was in my hands and the man also had been eyeing the sword A little. no one normally could detect, his poker face was breaking but I am a bit perceptive that way.
[Isn't it easy? just try to kill him, with me in your hand, he won't even last one slash and start sputtering everything or maybe we can torture him! yeah, that should make anyone talk.]
Hopeless as ever I see, hey, do you say these things cause I look stupid or is it really your true opinions you say?

I was out of ideas. The old man looked to be sweating a bit. Just then, I saw a gorgeous looking woman coming from behind the trees. She was really beautiful and had a very very mature aura. She had sparks in her eyes. I could literally see her eyes sparkling and they were looking right at me. But more than that… What was she?! Her aura could turn the monsters here to look like a kitten. She was a damn monster!
The man also turned around and seemed to be shaking a little. The woman was heading straight at me talking in some language I didn't understand. I instinctively shivered a bit. It was as if I was already classified as prey. My hands moved to my sword but the woman was still moving towards me. I unsheathed my sword and used it as a defensive wall. They must know about my sword. The old man's look when I touched the sword gave me that info, still the woman wasn't stopping, moreover it looked like she had started to come even faster.
Those eyes, the more I looked in them, the more nervous I became, my mind started to turn off, I was in a heck of a trouble when suddenly maybe from my long lost memories, I remembered an event just like this. I couldn't remember well, but I saw a woman with the same look as the woman who was coming at me now.
The time was up and any moment now the woman would touch the sword I had put against me.
I could feel Amanori was getting excited. She must be delighted to be put against someone but at the last moment I released my physical power for only a second and thrust the sword in the earth and the woman hugged me. It was pleasant maybe for a second but then I couldn't breathe. Her bosom was suffocating me and what's with this strength!! Maybe it could even rival the fang snakes binding attack! Before I knew it, I was unconscious and sleeping. There was a warm feeling, it felt fluffy to me like I was healing a little. Maybe for the first time in this body, I was so at ease.
Or maybe I was dying again... after dying 2 times. Dying did feel soothing just like this…

Things have become pretty hectic. After fetching the water to Melinda to wake up the boy, I had returned to the river to wash up, then came back, maybe 10 minutes had passed since then but after returning, I saw the boy's whole body was soaked in water and strangely enough, he still seems to be unconscious. Beside him was Melinda with a hollow look. I even hesitated to ask what had happened.
Then Melinda looked at me. Her eyes had tears ready to fall down. Then she starts to speak.
"Merlin, no matter what I do! he doesn't wake up!! Has he gone into a deathly slumber because of my love?!"
How can you say such ridiculous things with a serious expression?
"Come on, he is just unconscious or maybe even sleeping, his breathing is normal too."
I checked his pulse. Maybe he got too shocked after being left alone for so long and then suddenly got someone to cling to him. Anyone would lose his mind in that event.
"Lets just see when he wakes up okay" I said to Melinda so she put him in a bed that was now here for some reason.
"Where did you get that bed from! this is a damn living hell, are you kidding me!"
Truly, this is really something. Who wouldn't be shocked in a situation like this?
"What do you mean? I can't let him sleep on the floor while I am here."
She answered me with an expression which says "isn't what I am doing obvious". And then she casually gets on the bed and lays down beside the boy which also weirdly looked like she was used to it for some reason.
"I am sleeping so keep a watch on, okay good night!"
With her declaration, she too fell asleep. I didn't say anything because she was sleep deprived but I think I need to make some ground rules for her. Doting on a child even at a place like this...
Right at the time the sword that was thrusted down on the earth moved on its own and flew back to the boy's side and started to emit miasma. Very soon the area around the whole bed was covered as if it was in a barrier.
"Many new things are happening this time. What could this boy be? Does he even have a name? or how did he even get here? I need to think of how to explain the situations to the others. Melinda would have been great in situations like these but she gets stupid when the subject comes to children, guess I am the only one here for now." I Sighed…..
The night fell in no time at all and Melinda also finished her rest. When she got up she was shining as if she came from heaven, also she exited the barrier very easily and she could still get inside that too. Melinda really was something else, being near the cursed sword should be nerve wracking.
"Merlin, he still isn't waking up. What should I do?"
"Well this is worrying. Maybe we should kill him while he has his guard down."
Just as I finished my sentence Melinda's all powerful killing gaze hit me like a mountain. In no time I felt My consciousness slipping away but I made a small cut in my body to keep my senses and I said to her "look look he's awake!"
The boy woke up with a bang. I had an idea after watching him for a few days. I knew the thing he was most sensitive to. It was killing gaze and intent to kill, if anyone near him had such thought, he would be the fastest to react or catch the reaction.
Melinda caught onto my idea too and stopped her gaze immediately.
"Hi there, nice to meet you!"
Melinda greeted first with a soft smile and an energetic voice. I was next to her and I also gave a greeting. "Hello there."
...
I just woke up from the best rest of my life. I mean this life and I woke up on a bed!
…. I sensed a tremendous killing aura… what was my life? First I got the best sleep of my life then I woke up to someone killing me…! but when I woke up, I saw that it wasn't directed at me.
The pretty lady who had knocked me back was releasing this aura and it was directed at the man and as the man said something, the lady ceased her aura and looked at me with a soft smile like all that what happened earlier was a lie.
Then she said something too. Beside her, the man stood and spoke again. this time I knew they were talking to me but I didn't know what language they were talking in, so I just tilted my head. My expression must have told them that I didn't understand them, so they stopped speaking and started to think and talk among them.

"Talk...…. more…." , "Me.... .learning" I said in their language and it seemed to work cause they randomly started talking again. they Have to be incredible if they believed me that easily.
"Hey Merlin, did you hear that? He told us to talk more so he can learn?"
"Is he just trying to learn a new language? my god! alright Melinda let's start from basic words. If he is trying to learn then the basics will help."
They both started to talk after that and I was sitting and learning, well actually the system was collecting information and after its collection was finished, I would be able to speak and understand the language without any more problems. But I can't believe that they believed me!
I gestured to them to talk and started working on dinner. I only had breakfast so I was probably hungry too. After looking around I only found the fang snake. It was still cut in 4 pieces. It was really big so I took one piece with me to the river side to wash it and dissected it. This snake doesn't have any poison so it was edible. It killed its prey like the anaconda did. Then I took Amanori in my hand. The couple seemed to stop talking but then started talking again.
Hey Amanori, you really are a big deal! I feel like whenever I touch you, their tension rises.
[Heh didn't I tell you? I am a mythical existence, even the brainless monsters know my aura but civilization is another story. Whenever civilization crumbled or the world was destroyed, I was always at its center! neat right!]
Hmm yeah, with you here, no hero can actually leave their name in history.
[Now see? That's why I say don't be a hero, let loose and unleash me in the world, you will be remembered as if Hell reincarnates. Also I think with you I can really eradicate everything in this world!]

I didn't have the energy to correct her for now. so I let the talk slide, besides it seemed as if Amanori was happy for some reason.
It was time. I was done preparing the meat, so I started the grilling without delay. There was a lot of meat and for some reason, cooking this snake left an aroma as if grilling chicken. I never cooked them even if I killed them but if I knew I would get this type of aroma I would have tried it sooner.
The three of us were sitting opposite each other and I started to eat the grilled meats and while putting new pieces on the grill. They followed my suit and also started eating without delay. Our dinner was under way and they were still talking. They seemed to be good people.

"You should at least do this much for your new grandson. I know you can't be his favorite because I am here but you should at least try. Huh! Getting old you have even lost your competitive side haven't you?"
They certainly sounded easy going and fun at least. Thank god I didn't get grumpy people.
I decided to start talking to them. We had just finished our dinner and were sitting near the bonfire.
First I gave my introduction, "Hello there, thanks for your understanding. Now, I can speak and understand you at least somewhat….. My name is Rekka. Nice to meet you."
In a world where you needed strength to survive, it was easy to say that normally you would lose your intellectual side quite a bit. But in my case, even if I had to struggle like using Amanori making my body weak and her curse eating a lot of my mental fortitude was enough to make me dull… but the system was something akin to heaven defying artifact, it not only kept my mind sane but my natural will that could stand up to Amanori had been strengthened to an unparalleled degree, at the end of the day, no matter where I was, I was still sharp enough to learn things faster than others. I had those characteristics even from my first life…
Anyway, learning a language this fast seemed to be credited for not only the system but also since my mental capacity was capable of it.
Thanks to that, the people here have become endlessly sure that I am a superhuman unlike only with my body but even with my intellectual properties.
