When thirty men of middling ranks had passed, the woman from earlier finally decided to speak up. There'd been a certain amount of flow established, and progress had been getting made, with the crowd having a sense of what was expected of them – the woman destroyed all that as soon as she opened her mouth.

"How much would you pay for me?" The woman asked.

"30 golds," Vol replied immediately, to which chaos descended, both from those who had already had their contracts stamped, and those that were waiting in line for the opportunity to do the same.

The woman stood impetuously through a torrent of abuse, as more than a few things were thrown at her. She was holding Vol's gaze once more, judging him.

He prodded her when she once again went silent. "Why don't you show them, woman, and we can stop playing these games. They think I've an interest in your appearance – why don't you show them your strength?"
