Chapter 3: Hell: the continuation of a nightmare in reality

"Is this hell?" I asked, barely opening my eyes.

"No, you are in the infirmary," a female voice answered me.

"Ah, that's a pity," I thought.

"You have visitors. Should I let them in?"

"Visitors? That came to see me?" I asked in surprise.

"Yes," she answered. "She woke up, you can go in, but do not strain her too much."

"But I don't want to see anyone…" I didn't have time to finish, as seven people entered the room. Among them were Dan and his cronies, the student council president, and the vice president.

"I don't want to see anyone, get out of here. The patient needs rest," I said, and rolled over to the other side.

"That's great, then we'll go," said Dan.

"First you have to ask her forgiveness," said the vice president.

"Me? Ask her forgiveness? Why should I?"

"Otherwise, I will suspend you from college for a week. No, for two weeks," she said. "Oh, you have a concert soon, and you won't be able to rehearse either, what a pity," she continued caustically.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're an absolute demon?" Dan asked.

"Dan, shut up already," one of the guys said.

"Listen here, you, two-faced scum…" he began.

"I'm going to write a letter of resignation," the vice president continued.

"Dear Neia! Forgive me that I almost strangled you with a rope and was near to send you to another world. Is it enough?"

"What? Did you say something?" I said, taking the earphone out of my ear.

"You!"

"Let's go, Aya" vice president said to student council president.

"I mean, I'm sorry that I almost killed you," Dan continued, biting his lip.

"Are we friends? You should talk to me more formally. We don't know each other, so have the respect to refer to me more politely."

"Excuse me, greatly respected Neia. Do you mind if I bow out and leave? If you need help, please contact me at any time, I will be happy to help you."

"I don't need help from a narcissistic fool like you," I said, and rolled over onto my side.

"She…" Dan gritted through his teeth.

"Neia, if you don't have any complaints, then we will pretend that this didn't happen," the vice president continued. "If anything happens, you know where you can find us."

"Yeah," I replied.

Everyone slowly started to pack up and leave. I noticed that Dan had a bandage on his head.

"Oh, these guys..." I thought and lay on my back. "Still, nothing good can be expected from them."

Lying in the infirmary was pointless. I decided to quietly leave while the nurse was filling out some paperwork.

March 9, Wednesday

I skipped classes for two days. The whole rope-and-Dan thing happened on a Sunday, so I needed to get some rest before moving on to college. On top of that, I had a mark on my neck from being strangled by Dan, and I didn't want to show up in class like that. I hated rumors. And I didn't have a suitable scarf to cover my neck. All that remained was to wait.

I ended up having to take extra lessons and sit with other classes to keep up. Every time I missed classes, it was very difficult for me to catch up with the others, so this was the only way to join the learning process.

There were only two free seats in the class: the back seat by the window and the seat next to it. As a self-respecting student of the Faculty of Modern Literature, I decided to sit by the window with its romantic view.

There was no one whom I knew in the class. Perhaps my classmates were here, but I didn't really know them, so it was difficult to understand who I am studying with today. The lesson was about to begin, when suddenly Dan entered the audience.

"You!" I yelled as I stood up from my seat. The whole class looked at me. My reaction was too harsh. I had to slowly return to my seat. "Why am I always so lucky?" I thought.

"Hello, two-faced dumbass," he said, coming up to me. "Please get out of my seat."

"Hi, stupid, narcissistic turkey. Can I know why is it yours?"

"It is mine because it is mine. Should I give you an evidence?"

"I don't need anything. Just get out of here and stay out of my sight."

"Get up, and I'll show you that this is my place," he continued in a deadpan tone.

"Do you take me for a fool? I won't get up from here. Go and sit in an empty seat."

In the next second, Dan knelt down next to me. He stuck his head under my chair and I heard the sound of him taking a picture of something. I jumped up.

"What are you doing? Are you a pervert? Or crazy?!"

He calmly stood back and shook the dust from his knees. The teacher entered the classroom.

"And you, all of you, is it normal?" I shouted to the whole class. "Why isn't anyone saying anything? Why does everyone in this class, in this college, and not only here, why does nobody give a damn about anything?"

There was complete silence in the audience. Everyone looked at me in surprise.

"I am so tired of everything," I said and quickly went to the exit.

The blood in my veins was throbbing. I opened the door to the auditorium and slammed it so hard that it broke off the hinge. The next second, it fell to the floor with a crash. I stood in a daze for a couple of seconds, hoping that no one noticed what happened. But it was impossible not to hear me smash the auditorium door.

"And how did such a tender girl like me have the strength to knock down the door," I thought.

"Neia, let's go to your course teacher," the teacher said, coming up to me and putting her hand on my shoulder.

"I'm done," I said to myself. "And you're in deep trouble," I said, fixing a menacing look at Dan.
