Chapter 1: 1. How to be a model..?
Harry woke up to the sound of his dog, Bella, howling at the mailman who always looked too happy to be human.
"Be quiet, Bella."
She paused and looked at Harry, who was still recovering from a night out with his friends. Bella stared him down with innocent puppy eyes and then continued to howl.
Harry got up from bed and nearly fell over from nausea. He braced himself for the relentless headache that was about to occur for the rest of the morning.
All of a sudden, a voice sounded inside Harry's head that said, "Host found, instillation complete."
For a split second, his world went grey, and Harry could see that everything was moving very slowly.
Harry thought to himself that he must still be drunk. He headed towards the small work desk in his room, where the aspirin was and gulped down a tablet with mouthfuls of days old water left from studying for his final tests.
Harry quickly snapped out of reminiscing about his school days and regretting his actions and emotions towards studying.
Suddenly, a blue screen appeared in front of him. It read:
'Hello, user. Would you like the opportunity to change your life through discipline and hard work?'
'Yes/No'
"Is this some kind of practical joke? Hello? Who is filming right now?"
No one answered, and Bella just looked at him and tilted her head as if stunned by the question.
A thought flashed into Harry's mind.
'Could this be real?'
Harry already knew he had failed his tests and was prepared to have a meaningless life. However, if this was true, he could change all that.
Harry clicked yes, and the screen changed. The message on the screen had changed.
'This path will be strict and tough. Are you sure about your decision?'
'Yes/No'
Harry hesitated, wondering if it would be too much work. He then that his life would amount to something that he can be proud of. He would no longer play video games for several hours every day. He would no longer put off going to the gym because they released a new novel he had been wanting to read.
"Yes."
Harry had said that with so much conviction that he thought someone else had said it.
The message on the screen had changed again.
'Today is your first day to becoming a model!'
Before Harry had a chance to think about what the screen had said, it introduced itself as 'Lulu' and said it would try to answer Harry's questions.
But only one word was stuck in his mind, and it was 'model'.
