Chapter 1: I Have Decided On My Path!

The sun stood proudly in the middle of the sky.

Waves of heat filled the desert leaving only dried up trees and cactuses.

But a single man walked through this desert with a smile. His long hair and black robe was still due to the lack of wind. His eyes were a beautiful crimson like a blood soaked rose.

He walked for hours, days, years but his expression had always stayed the same, a carefree smile.

One day he met a young girl named fate "Uncle! Uncle I found a rose!" she tapped onto The man's shoulders but the man did not stop his path, fate was already used to It so she put it in the man's hands. "Ah, a beautiful rose. Where did you find this fate?" The man said as he looked at the rose.

"Over there!" Fate pointed to a path that leaded to a treasury full of flowers, and treasure. "Ah, I see" The man only glanced at the treasury, but in the end he did not waver, he kept walking on his path.

Fate was disappointed to see the man not changing directions. "Uncle why did you not go towards the treasury it's full of beautiful flowers, and treasures, but your path only leads to death" Fate pointed at the end of the man's path. Showing the man what the end of his path was like. "If that is the path that I have chosen then i'll keep walking on it" The man did not show any signs of wavering and kept walking on a path that led to death.

The man kept an carefree smile and kept walking forward.

Years passed like this when one day fate suddenly stopped "Uncle I don't want you to walk this path anymore." Fate was annoyed at how even though the man saw that he would die if he continued in this path, he kept walking this path. "Uncles, look at all of the paths around you" Fate pointed at the paths that was around them. One was full of beautiful girls, then another that was full of money wealth, and another that led to a carefree and peaceful life. The man glanced at everyone of them, but he still continued on his path

"Uncle... Please I just want you to have a good life." Fate clenched her hands and tears started to come out, but the man did not stop he kept walking towards his path with a carefree smile. Seeing this Fate clenched her hands even harder.

Drip...Drip...Drip

Fate's fingernails dug deep into her palms, so deep that blood started to come out. Fate gritted her teeth and seemed as if she was trying to decide something.

Fate took a deep breath, and a look of determination appeared in her eyes. She ran towards the man, and walked in front of his path. "Uncle please stop!"

The man did not stop and kept on walking bumping into fate, and making her fall, but this did not deter her. A look of stubbornness appeared and she did it again, and again, but each attempt only ended in failure.

But in one of her attempts a knife appeared besides her. She did not even hesitate and grabbed the knife. "Uncle if you do not stop then... Then I'll use this knife" Her eyes turned red with madness. And a crazed aura appeared. "Fate do you intend to block my path" The man said with a cold smile.

Fate nodded.

"Ah I see" The man quickly rushed towards fate with a blade in his hands. Fate knew that this man was serious so she started to attack as well. Since her dagger was lighter she reached the man first, so Fate cut off his arm.

The arm that was sliced off dropped onto the sand with a thud, but the man did not even seem to pay attention to the arm.

Fate had thought that the man would finally stop seeing that he had been injured so she did not attack again, but against her expectations not only did the man not stop he went for a lethal attack.

Fate tried to dodge, but it was too late. The man's blade had already pierced her heart.

The man with his wound still bleeding did not care, and kept walking towards his path.

Fate lied on the sand with a sad expression. She had thought that over the years of them traveling together maybe the man had some kind of affection for her deep inside. "I guess that will only be a wish" Fate sighed.

The man's sword turned into paper, and so fate slowly took it out of her chest. The moment she took it out the sword unraveled itself into what seemed to be an note.

Fate started to read it out loud.

"Fate you have traveled with me or hundreds or maybe thousands of years, but the moment you blocked me. Your death was inevitable. While I do not regret killing you, you must know I do not hate you. Maybe one day you will know what it means to walk a path, then at the end i'll see you once more.

I wish you farewell

-Ancient demon"

Fate teared up "Maybe it was me who did not care for the other person" Fate wiped her tears away and looked up at the sky. That had already turned dark. The moon shone brightly emitting a soft sliver glow, the stars played around in the sky. A determined look start to appear in fate's gaze "I have decided on my path"

Fate stood up, and looked at the desert sand. two paths appeared in front of Fate one was a path to treasures, flowers, wealth, carefree life, and the path to it was stable since thousands of people have walked on it making the sand hard, but the other path contained sand that was soft and beneath it might be sharp blades, and at the end of this path was 99.99 percent death while one percent success

Fate walked towards the path that no one else had walked.

But this is a story for another day...
