Chapter 19: Girlfriend
"Please, Evelyn, call me Evelyn. Open it and find out." She smiled assuredly.
As I opened it slowly, I saw a pair of earrings. My eyes widen, "Mrs— Evelyn, I cannot accept this!" I exclaimed.
"Of course, you can. It matches your necklace."
"But Evelyn this is too much."
"Nonsense. On Saturday I want you to wear them, Liam is coming and I'm inviting you for dinner at Madison's. Wear something pretty. Be sure to be there by 7 PM. Give me your number so I can call you."
"Okay," I said shyly and wrote down my number on a piece of paper she handed me.
I held the box and I told her that I'm heading home. I also didn't forget to say thank you. So I stood up and head to the door, she sent me to the door and gave me a hug before I left.
Saturday came and Liza is at our house. I told her that later I will have to leave her for a bit as Mrs Dawson invited me for dinner in which I cannot take her. She was alright with it.
After a marathon of chatting, it's nearly 6 PM. I went to shower and Liza picked a dress for me. She chose a floral chiffon dress for me. I put it on and she put a very light make up on my face after. I don't really have make-ups but she does. So I just let her make me look pretty. She put a light coral lipstick on my lips and she continued to fix my hair. She let it loose and made some waves on the half part of my hair with curlers.
I wore white flat ballet shoes and a silver shoulder bag that can only fit my phone and my little purse. I remembered the earrings. I quickly put them on and looked myself at the mirror and admired my whole look.
My phone rang so I quickly answered it. It was just a number.
"Hello?"
"Summer it's me, Evelyn. The taxi will pick you up and take you here, okay?"
"Okay."
She then hung up after my response.
I went downstairs and told my parents I'm just waiting for the taxi that Mrs Dawson sent. My dad gave me money and told me to just enjoy the dinner and come home soon. I'm so blessed to have supportive parents.
The Taxi arrived and my dad sent me out and made sure I entered the taxi safely. While inside I felt nervous and excited and I don't know why.
After about 6 to 7 minutes we arrived at Madison's. The taxi driver said it was already paid. I got out and head to the entrance. I asked the lady near the entrance and told her Dawson. She pointed me to the table near the window. I told her there must be a misunderstanding because where she brought me was a table for two.
She told me to wait there and she will check it to make sure. After two minutes she came back and she said there is no mistake.
I immediately called Mrs Dawson to ask about it but she was not picking up. I dialled her number again but there was no answer. So I typed in a message but before I can send it, I looked up and saw Liam walking to my direction. But he was not alone. He was with someone.
Before I can react, they were both there in front of me.
"Summer, why are you here?" he asked
I felt like my heart will burst out of jealousy. The girl looked really pretty and she's taller than me. They looked perfect together.
"Hi! I'm actually waiting for—"
The bitch cut me off, "Liam can we sit?"
'Hello? Are you blind? There are 2 chairs here. I'm here first!' in my head. I stood up. "I think there was a misunderstanding." I bit my lip. "I'm trying to call your mum but she was not picking up." I looked down.
The bitch sat down on the other chair. I can sense that Liam was staring at me. I can feel it without looking at him.
"Let me call her. Give me a minute or two." he went outside.
I sat down and I glanced at that bitch in front of me, 'Her chest is bigger than mine, so what?' Judging by her looks, she seemed to be in the same age as Liam. 'My chest will grow too. Just you wait!'
"Summer, right? How is Liam related to you? I'm Angel, I'm his girlfriend by the way."
My world suddenly collapsed. 'Girlfriend?' I couldn't smile at all. I froze. Time stopped. She received a message and after she read it, she stood up and left. Liam came back and sat down. "Where is Angel?" he asked.
