Chapter 49: Inception (3)
[Hiratsuka Shizuka's POV]
Buddha said: "When you like a flower, you just pluck it. But when you love a flower, you water it daily." I, as an adult, can proudly say that my relationship with my SLIGHTLY younger boyfriend has reached this state.
Hikigaya Hachiman, my boyfriend, my student, and my emotional support is a unique person ... Literally. His view on the world is so logical, it makes him different; every word he spouts is strangely irrefutable.
Twisted, is what I call it—his view. Hachiman is by no means an idealistic guy; he has more than once broken his own word, because he just doesn't feel like it. He is also by no means moody; he is ... I think he just hates people in general.
No, it would be wrong saying he hates people in general; he just doesn't like people in general. 'Isn't it the same though? Whatever.'
Hachiman has the capability to bond with people. Many people try to bond with him, but he never responds to the initiative; he doesn't even seem to notice it. Though he says something merciless from time to time, that's what makes him different—that's what makes him interesting.
Of course, Hachiman still has people he is close with: Komachi-chan, Maiko-san, Saki duo, Totsuka, and his gym trainer, Asako. 'Now that I think about it, he doesn't have that many people he considers friends.'
After being with him for two years however, I can finally notice something that no one will never know unless they know him well: Hikigaya Hachiman is afraid of building a relationship with people.
After hearing Komachi's story about his past, I kinda get why he is reluctant to bond with people. However, that doesn't become the reason to think everyone is the same as the people who rejected him in the past. Anything green and swaying is not always grass, after all.
It is subtle, but whenever I talk to him I get to notice it—his cluelessness. There are some moments where he even pauses, and make a face that says, "How should I react to this? Oh, yeah. I should react like this." It wasn't abnormal though; it happens to everyone sometime.
But whenever he shows me the 'other' face, he always makes me question his identity. I have caught him more than once staring at me emptily—in a conversation—with a face that says, "What am I doing? Why am I doing this?"
He is sometimes even puzzled with himself.
Hachiman doesn't understand people: their fickleness, irrational action, their hypocrisy—as he likes to say—and their need to build a relationship. When he confessed to me, it seemed to me that it was the first time he established a relationship with someone.
Only after being in a relationship with him, do I know that other than the people he has chosen, Hachiman never opens his heart to anyone; he silences everyone in his surrounding, while looking like he is responding to them. He is close, yet far away.
I can easily spot it whenever he talks to his friends—acquaintances, in his own word. He never sees them; he is looking at them, but never considers them to be something worth paying attention to. Wonder why I never worry he will cheat on me? This is the reason.
Even while talking to the Saki duo, his friends, he never really sees them. It is like he is there, but not there at the same time. Whenever I see him interacting with them, his mind seems to be occupied with something. "Is this the right way to act?" Is written on his face.
He looks like someone who has mastered something wrong for his entire life, and is now learning the right version of it—he looks baffled with how things are unfolded.
I am glad he has opened his heart to me, but as I said in the beginning, I don't see him as a flower that I like, but a flower that I love. I want to water him; I want him to grow physically and emotionally.
I want him to be able to understand people better. And the most important is, I want him to understand himself. This is the reason why I sent him to Yukinoshita.
Just like him, Yukinoshita has a twisted view on the world. Both of them have one same trait: stubbornness. It is hard to change their view. Unlike Hachiman however, Yukinoshita thinks she knows what she is doing—she thinks she is right in what she is doing.
These two have equally twisted view, yet different at the same time. However, I can surely say both of them think their view is the right one. She is the perfect person for Hachiman to learn how twisted his view is, and vice versa.
Lo and behold, by the time they met each other, they were quickly irritated with each other. But, I can say for sure, they were interacting. Although it takes time, they will slowly realize how "unique" their view to other people, just as how they see each other's view.
And by giving them the chance to interact with the students I will redirect to them in the future, I hope both of them will be able to understand people better—to not see people with their twisted view anymore.
With that being said ...
"I am waiting."
"I know. Just let me dress up."
"Ku-ku-ku. I am waiting."
'Gah! Why did I have to make that stupid promise?!' According to the promise I have made with Hachiman this noon, I have to dress up as a bunny girl tonight ... Well, right now. Needless to say, I slightly regret it. This is the reason why I am dragging the moment by having a profound thought.
'What kind of an idiot who reads bunny girl as bunny doll? Well, me!' I hate Amazon. Why didn't it ask me whether I was sure with what I wanted to buy? 'This situation would never happen if Amazon had asked me!'
'I-It's not that I bought it intentionally to s-seduce him. Don't get me wrong!' Still, crying over spilled milk is useless. So, I will just wear it. Upon entering our room, I take the costume out of the cupboard.
"Huuh... Look at this accursed costume. Which degenerate invented this? I hope they die!" I even take my time to look it up on Google. "Oh, it's Zelda Wynn Valdes. Damn, lady what have you done?!" I can't believe who invented this abomination was a woman.
"Ah, screw it! Let's just do it with a blast!" Since I have decided to do it anyway, I don't want to half-ass thing. "Does he prefer fishnet or pantyhose? Ah, screw it! Men are lustful creatures, aren't they?" I ended up wearing pantyhose.
When the costume is fully worn, I don't forget to also put the bunny ears headband. Looking to the mirror, I find myself ... Cute. "Uwah, I will definitely regret this." Putting my best poker face, I step out of the bedroom. "I am ready."
At my call, Hachiman turns around, and stares at me silently. Sometimes, I don't know what he is thinking. Even the fact that I know what he is thinking is amazing. Just look at that neutral face; it's very befitting of a Kaonashi.
"Shizuka... I—I think..." I don't know why he is covering his mouth, but I'm sure he is not intending to mock me. "I think I have developed a new fetish." See? I told you. Men are naturally lustful creatures. No matter what you wear, they will always lust over you.
'I hope he doesn't develop a weird fetish though.' At that moment, Hachiman speaks. "I have developed Shizuka fetish!" It's honestly embarrassing looking at him saying that righteously. But, I am glad he fancies me that much.
"Let's make baby bunnies!"
"Why do you always have to ruin the moment?!"
Hachiman chuckles, and I follow suit a second later. When we stop laughing, we look at each other's face silently. I can see Hachiman is looking at me with "that" eyes again, faintly showing his puzzlement on how he should behave from now on.
'Crap! What should we do from now on? Are we really going to make baby bunnies?!' I don't find that idea repulsive, but I don't want Maiko-san to kill me. Hachiman needs to finish his highschool first, before we are allowed to make one.
'Now that I think about it ... Isn't she pretty eager to have grandchildren?'
Puchi. Puchi.
At the touch, I turn my gaze to the finger poking my breasts. Despite of having grope them many times already, Hachiman is strangely fascinated by them at the moment. "What are you doing exactly?" Of course, I can't just treat it as a normal behavior.
'Why is he treating them like he has never seen them before?' After he is satisfied with poking my chest, he caresses his imaginary beard. "Fumu. Despite of having seen them bare for many times already, the current them feel different."
His ability to look serious while saying something stupid is admirable indeed. 'But I strangely feel it's enlightening ... Am I stupid too?' I have been together with him long enough for his habit to rub off on me.
"Yosh, I have decided it!"
"What have you decided?"
"Let's make baby bunnies."
"It's still the same, isn't it?!"
Hachiman waves his hand mildly, and clears his throat. "Kuhum. Let me elaborate my word." Staring at me seriously, he says, "Let's do it without taking that off." To say that I didn't expect it will be a lie. 'In the end, you want to make baby bunnies, aren't you?!'
"Well, let's do it." I shrug. Although we have done many things, we haven't had sex yet. Hachiman has never suggested it first, and I am too embarrassed to suggest it. Now that he has shown the drive to do that, I won't back down like the last time.
"But first, let me take a picture of you." Hachiman takes out his phone. "If someday we got broke, I will sell the picture as NFT." I don't know what that is, but that feels insulting. "Pfft! Why should I do that? No one can see my Rabbit Goddess but me!"
'Well, at least you got common sense.' After a few pictures are taken, Hachiman carries me to our room, and showcases his unrivaled skill.
That night, I lost my virginity while still wearing a bunny suit. It can't be considered a normal first time but ... It's pleasant to say the least.
