Chapter 12: 12. Awkward Situations

Yuki sighed as he thought about his past self. He had never cared about the impression he had on others. Still, it wasn't hard to fool his mother since he always had a false smile at home.

Shaking his head to get rid of his thoughts, Yuki responded with a smile, "I just thought I should change for the better."

Shu was caught off guard by Yuki's smile, "Cool, change is great." he said with a thumbs up.

"Of course!" Yuki said as he gave Shu a fist bump.

Chitoge looked at Yuki's smile in a daze. The smile he showed felt incredibly familiar to her. 'Just where...'

"Kirisaki-san! Let's go." Yuki called out when he saw they had left Chitoge behind.

"Coming!" Chitoge said as she caught up with them.

As Yuki walked into the class laughingly, he noticed something weird. The originally noisy room had descended into silence.

He looked and realised the class was staring at him. "Is something wrong?" he asked since he couldn't handle the silence.

"Who are you?" someone asked.

"Yuki." Yuki responded. He didn't understand the question.

"Yuki?" the person asked in confusion.

Yuki sighed and thought about what Shu had just said, "The quiet kid who sits in that corner seat." He said as he pointed to his seat.

A wave of exclamations was heard after that.

"Takahashi-kun?"

"No way!"

"That's not fair. Why is he suddenly so handsome?"

Yuki was speechless as he looked at the crowd. They made a big deal when he laughed yesterday, and now they're making a bigger deal because he changed his hairstyle.

Not minding them, he went to sit in his seat since the class was starting soon.

Just as he sat down, the person next to him spoke "Like the hair Yuki-kun."

Yuki looked at the person and responded with a smile "Thank you Yame-san."

Yuki and Yukana(Hajimete no Gal) hadn't talked much, but that doesn't mean they didn't talk at all. She was one of the few people the previous Yuki was comfortable with.

In fact, he had a crush on her for a short period of time, but that feeling quickly disappeared he buried them in his heart.

Now that he got a good look at her, Yuki could figure out why the previous Yuki had fallen for her.

Not only was she extremely beautiful, but she was also outgoing. Just the fact that she talked to the previous Yuki might have gotten him excited.

"What's wrong Yuki-kun?" Yukana asked when she noticed Yuki staring at her. Now that Yuki thought about it, she was probably the only girl apart from Akemi who called him by his first name.

"I was just thinking that you look beautiful Yame-san." Yuki said as he showed a charming smile.

Yukana was caught off guard as she never expected a compliment from the quiet Yuki. A light blush spread across her cheeks. "T-Thanks." she stuttered.

Yukana herself didn't know why she was blushing. After all, it wasn't like it was the first time she had received a compliment.

'Is it because he looks good today?' Yukana thought as she sneaked a peek at Yuki and caught sight of a mischievous grin on Yuki's face

"Hmph." Yukana turned away angrily when she saw that. "I'll get you back." she murmured.

"I'd like that." Yuki said as the grin on his grew wider.

"Alright everyone, settle down." Kyoko, the homeroom teacher, said as she entered the classroom, effectively ruining Yuki's fun.

"Okay let me take the register." she said to herself as she read out the names.

...

Yuki stared out the window with no expression. His thoughts wondered about how he was going to go about his next lesson. He didn't know how he would make it through the next lesson.

Well, maybe not him, but his teacher instead. He knew Yuzuki tended to overthink a lot, so it might make the lesson lightly awkward for the both of them.

At that moment, Yuzuki walked into the class full of energy. That was until she caught sight of Yuki at the back of the class.

Yuki and Yuzuki stared at each other for a solid minute before Yuzuki continued walking, albeit with a slight blush on her cheeks.

What followed was one of the most tiring lessons of Yuki's life. While Yuzuki was teaching, she would occasionally look in Yuki's direction.

She also asked him most of the questions since he was probably the first person that came to her mind.

In such circumstances, Yuki couldn't allow himself to get distracted during her lesson, even though it happened quite often.

Yuki thanked the gods as the bell rang. He lay on his arms as waited for the next class to start.

Even though Yuki had no difficulty answering the questions asked, he wasn't always prepared to answer them.

He turned to Yukana who had a smile on her face as she looked at him.
