Chapter 12: Part 2 : Stubborn June
"Pervert , Can't even knock before entering !" June mumbled words as Adam returned to his room.
June put on her night gown and lay on the bed. She held the quilt in folds ,so close to her chest.
" He saw me in a towel ,he actually did ! How embarrassing!" She hit the bed repeatedly but was careful not to make a noise.
She couldn't stop thinking of how awkward the situation was earlier. That was the first time she appeared half naked in front of a man .
That thought disturbed her . She wanted to tear Adam apart . On the bed, June would go from slapping herself to rolling from side to side .
Soon ,it started raining . Lightning flashed as thunder struck. During this time ,she could only remember her Grandmother's bed time stories .
As she recalled thoes stories,cool moist breeze blew through the curtain of the window putting June to sleep.
Early in the morning, as the sun shone brightly into the room, June felt reluctant to get up . She kept squeezing the quilt, engulfing herself in its softness as her eyes were still shut.
Adam who has been standing by the doorway , watched June switch into different sleeping positions.
He had once again entered her room without knocking , Who knows?Just some minutes earlier, he repeatedly called June but there was no reply only to discover that the door wasn't locked and that's how he got into her room .
It was almost 10:00am and she was still in bed turning and hugging the pillows and just a little turn will send her tumbling to the ground.
Was it just wickedness or a mission to seek unrelated humor? Adam held out an alarm clock.
He looked at lazy June and gave a sinister smile as he kept turning the hour , minute and second hand until it was exactly two minutes to 10.
He placed the alarm clock close to June's ears.
" 1, 2...!" He counted.
" Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" the alarm rang, sending June to the ground .
" Owwwwch!" June groaned as rubbed her head .
" When was there ever an alarm clock in this room and i didn't know?" she mumbled words.
The sound from the alarm clock was so loud and scary that it could wake a dead person.
Just as June lay on the ground, she sighted someone's feet. She looked all the way up .
" Adam !" June yelled as she stood up and sat on the bed , trying to act womanly.
" Don't worry, I've seen how you fell from the bed . You fell nicely !"
" You , You...!" June pointed a finger at him and then realised who she was talking to. She didn't say any more word.
" Do you know what i dislike most ? I dislike waking up late! But since you are a lazy sleeper , then this alarm is exactly for you , it will be in this room and I'll set it myself !"
" Sorry, am not the kind of person that wakes up early. If you'll excuse me, I've got some discussion with this bed!" June said as she covered herself with the quilt.
Adam was frustrated,he couldn't get through to her. He immediately walked to the bed and dragged the quilt covering June.
June held the other end and pulled more of the quilt to her side but Adam was stronger,he not only dragged the quilt, he was able to drag June until she was about to fall from the bed .
Adam let go of the quilt and caught her before she hit her head the second time. They stared into eachother's eyes .
Adam's lovely blue eyes pierced her soul that she couldn't contain herself . June swallowed hard , she couldn't stop flickering her eyes.
She wished the ground will open up and swallow her at the moment.
" Owwwch ! " She groaned .
Just as she was in her world of fantasy , Adam released her, letting her fall to the ground. He had tricked her with his lovely eyes.
"Get dressed, I'll be waiting for you downstairs !"
" Hmm!" She scoffed.
Adam waited almost an hour and she hadn't come down yet. Was she still sleeping ? He couldn't tell.
Finally, June came down to the parlour . She wore a short red gown and a pair of white sandals.
Her hair was held up in ponytail ,exposing a pair of white earrings. In her hands , she held a black purse.
" Am ready !" She smiled as she stood in front of Adam. Adam turned to look at her.
He looked at her from her toe up . His eyes were fixed at her legs.
" She's got hot legs .She really knows how to be a Cinderella in rags !" He thought.
" Let's go !" Adam said as he let June walk in front of him.
As they were about to leave the house, Adam pulled off June's hair band from her hair, letting it pour on her shoulders. Her hair was very long and soft.
Adam loved it when her hair wasn't held up in ponytail, it made her more beautiful. June turned to him visibly angry.
" Why did you do that ?"
" Because sweetheart , i love it when your hair is like this . Come on ,don't be angry about it !" Adam put back the strand of hair that fell on her face.June was quite confused.
He was acting strange. Adam pulled her in an attempt to hug her .
" I told you that we have to act like a couple outside ! Your job starts now !" Adam whispered in her ear.
"Oh,so that's why he is acting strange ! " She smiled and kissed his right cheek .
" Come on , Adam ! We have to go now or we'll be late !" Adam still stood at that spot as he placed his hand on his right cheek.
The kiss actually froze him.
" She kissed me ! But she doesn't want any kind of physical contact with me ! What's she up to?" Adam mumbled .
Adam pressed the button on his car key as they opened the door and entered the car. Inside the car, Adam turned on the ignition and drove into the street.
" What was that kiss for ?"Adam asked.
" Well according to the contract ,you said we should act like a couple when we are out of the house !" June replied.
" You went to far !"
" I was trying to do my job so don't scold me for it !" June said angrily.
" But must it be a kiss? Remember that you stated in the contract that you wouldn't want any physical contact with me , so why kiss me if you don't want it !"
" Why are you making a fuss out of a little kiss on the cheek ! Couples do kiss , how are we supposed to convince the world that we are a couple if we don't kiss !" June flared up.
Those word resounded in Adam's ears. The car was set to auto drive as he leaned close to her and kissed her passionately .
June pushed him away with all anger.
" Stop the car ! " June ordered .
Adam ignored her .
" I said stop the car !" she yelled at him. He had never seen her this angry .
He wished he was the one angry .
"And if i don't stop the car !" June tried to open the door but it wasn't opening .
" Open the door !"
" No, i won't ! And you better behave yourself and be a good girl or else you want a reduction in your pay !" Adam threatened.
June stopped trying to open the door and sat quietly.
" Good girl ! Money does control you !" Adam smirked.
June turned her face towards the window of her seat. She didn't want to talk to Adam or start a conversation with him.
They arrived at Jacqueline fashion store . It was the biggest and well known fashion store owned by a successful fashion designer.
As they entered into the store , Jacqueline a tall fair skinned lady with brown hair held up in ponytail walked towards them.
" Bon arrive , Adam ! Uuhhh and who is this belle with you today? " She spoke with a French accent .
" Oh,she is June , my fiancee !" Adam said as he placed his arm on her shoulder.
" Oui, Jacqueline! I happy to meet you !"
" Of course, cherie! "
" I want everything on the list i sent you ,the best of everything! " Adam asked .
" Met oui! I have picked the best of the items you sent to me and also they will fit her perfectly as she has a nice body stature." Jacqueline assured him.
" The cost of the items should be deducted from this card , I'll come back later to get her !"
" Of course!" Jacqueline took the card from him.
June was carried away by the beautiful clothes and shoes in the store.
"Come Cherie! " Jacqueline said the June as she guided her through the lines of clothe into the dressing room.
" Please have a sit !" Jacqueline offered her a sit .
"Merci !"
" You are welcome ! Just relax ,I'll be right back ." Jacqueline said as entered into a room.
As June sat there, she kept staring at intricate interior design although she was in the dressing room, she couldn't see much of the design in it.
" This place is much better than Adam's house , the designs are beautiful !" she said to herself .
Soon Jacqueline entered the dressing room with arrays of different beautiful materials- well tailored skirts , blouse, suit, trousers , shirts, gowns and lingerie.
She also selected beautiful sets of footwear. Everything was up and past the taste of Adam . Jacqueline had selected a whole wardrobe outfits.
" Wow, this is huge ! How do i know if they will fit me !" June was surprised and confused at the same time .
" Don't worry about that, he already sent me the list of things and your actual size .They will fit me perfectly!"
" Even my lingerie ! Oh, no ! he knows the size my bra and pant but how ?... Adam I'll kill you !" June said to herself.
She was embarrassed within herself.
" June, are you alright?" Jacqueline asked.
" Yes, i am ! i love these outfits, pack them in bags ! " June replied.
" Yes, of course! ... Oh, and Adam says you should wait for him here , he'll come and get you !"
" Don't worry, i know my way home and am quite busy so I'll head home first !"
" Ok, Jacqueline packed the selected outfits in bags and gave them to June .
" Thank you very much !"
" You are welcome !"Jacqueline escorted June out of the store.
June boarded a taxi and went home.
