Chapter 26: Instinct {TW}

Nothing on the table served Sharp enough to cut through the tapes. Not even the pliers he had hoped would work, but manipulating something like that with tied hands proved to be hard and his wrist now hurt. His eyes scanned around the walls searching for a window but soon saw that it was barricaded by the numerous boxes on the side and it was the only one. Kai sighed, the option of moving them was scratched out since his hands were tied.
His knees felt weak and his head throbbed even more from moving around ever since. Kai let his body slide to the ground until his bare bottom touched the cold floor and heaved a frustrated sigh.
He was tired and so much wanted to rest but he needed to be alert since he was kidnapped... the thought was sinking in so deeply into his mind. His shoulders hurt... his head hurt... he felt terrible. Everything was annoying and the way his captors stared at him was disgusting and made his skin crawl. Aiden never made him feel that way even for a second since they met, this felt completely different. Was this what kidnapping felt like? How could anyone compare this to Aiden?
He missed him... he missed him so much. Waiting around wouldn't prove to be at all helpful to him, he needed to get back. The sudden sound of his phone vibrating pumped hope into him instantly. He stood up and staggered towards the stack of boxes where he heard the vibrations from, he did find the phone next to a box but the screen was glitchy and it was hard to understand the contents on the screen. Either way, Kai still went on his knees and tried to pick up the phone,
"woah, this room is never open, I guess they forgot to lock it up today."
"Isn't this Lukes torture chamber,"
"Torture chamber?"
"Let's take a peek at what he brought in today,"
"Shut your drunken as* up, Luke would kill you." It was a woman's who spoke,
"What? You scared of 'em?"
"He's a f*cking psycho,"
"I'mma check it out anyway,"
The distant voices from outside the door alerted the young merman and his heart thumped loudly threatening to burst through his ribs, were the kidnappers already here? But he was sure it was not yet up to an hour. He still had some time so why were they here so early? No that didn't sound like them... these ones sounded more like passerby's, either way they are still part of the people who took him. Kai once again tried to pick up the phone and this time he was successful. He tapped on the screen vigorously hoping to hit the answer button by chance but then the call was disconnected. His face paled,
'no.'
He heard the door creak open and then closed with a dull thud followed by approaching footsteps. If his heart was beating loudly before now it was jumping,
The offensive whistling sound that soon echoed in the basement made the hairs on Kai's skin rise, "lookie what we got here."
"It's just a kid, tsk, Luke's lost his touch. Why'd he go so low to torture a kid?" The second male said sounding disappointed,
Hearing the hoarse voices, Kai refused to turn and just remained in his kneeling position with his back facing the two men and woman who had just entered, his mind flooded with fear trying to think of a way out.
"Hey kid, you a borrower? What got you in here?" The unpleasant voice of the woman made kai shut his eyes tightly and shrink back. Seeing he made no effort to answer her, the woman clicked her tongue sounding vexed,
"Oi, I'm f*cking talking to you!" She stepped forward and pulled his hair back so he could look up at her, she paused when she saw his face and a disgusted look contoured her features,
"Eww, what the hell is this?!" She let go of his hair and stepped away as if she had just seen a disgusting ghost.
"It's a fucking homo."
"Damn, really? How can you tell?" One questioned and the other sniggered,
"She's a homophobe, it's what they do." The one who replied walked up to Kai and pulled him up by his arm so he could stand and then pulled on his blonde hair, tilting the boys head back.
"What kind of guy would look like that?" the woman spoke again, her disgust evident.
"Mmph...mmph!" Kai groaned staring daggers at the man pulling his hair. The strong stench of booze flooded his nostrils and increased the throb in his head, his head was already hurting alot and these mother****ers were pulling on his hair as they please. If only they could just remove the annoying tape on his mouth.
"Oi, he's pretty, he's even prettier than you, Lin." He sniggered at the woman and she gritted her teeth, not bothering to even answer him. Still pulling on Kai's hair, the wasted man's eyes moved to the spot between Kai's thighs and his smile widened.
Kai's eyes widened in horror seeing this and he tried to close his thighs together, hiding himself from the man's lustful gaze.
"Never thought I'd see one this colour before. He's even cuter down here." The man suddenly gripped Kai and traced the tip of his peach coloured member, "MMPH." Kai clenched his jaw feeling grossed out by his actions and the rag in his mouth wasn't making things better for him,
"what the hell do you think you're doing?" Lin yelled and the other just smirked at her.
"Go keep a lookout for me, would you? I'm sure you don't wanna see me f*cking him. You're welcome to watch anyway,"
The woman scoffed and made her way up the stairs. They were dangerous men so they were bound to have something he could use on them. This in mind, Kai glanced down at the man's pants, the bulge was obvious but his attention was on the knife sheath tied to his thigh... if only he could get a hold of it or perhaps get him to use it,
"You really wanna f*ck him? He's a guy you know?" the other male said.
"So what? He's got a hole doesn't he? I've been pent up for a week and his face is really turning me on, 'course I'd f*ck him," the man, still gripping a chunk of Kai's hair began unbuckling his belt but before he could finish, Kai did the first thing that came into his mind. He lunged his knee forward and hit him the place where it hurts the most.
"Ugh! F*cker!" he smacked Kai across the face and sent him to the ground. When Kai fell on his back, he immediately kicked the former on the knee causing him to fall on his face. The distance was perfect, he tried slithering forward on his back and just when hee was about to reach the sheath, the other male pulled him up by the hair,
"i guess you knocked him out," he glanced at the now unconscious man who laid face flat on the floor and shook his head, "well he was wasted anyway." He turned back to Kai,
"Damn, your face is busted. Gotta put you back before Luke come back." He muttered to himself,
"mmhh..." seemed like the merman had to say something and the other rose a brow,
"Wanna say something?" he held the tip of the silvery tape and pulled it off Kai's face, the merman's face brightened and he immediately threw out the rag and turned back to the man,
"You're lucky I wanna listen to your excuse. Come on spill it before I put this back on."
This was better than he'd expected, he wished to get the knife but this was far better. Kai smiled slightly and parted his lips, the latters pupils dilated as he listened to the melody coming from the merman, his brown eyes turning a dull shade of grey.
"Get that knife and get me out of this." Kai commanded when he was done,
The other male carefully let go of Kai's hair and went to his partners unconscious body to get the knife. He pulled it out of the sheath and tore the tape off. Kai massaged his red wrist and stretched his shoulder, trying to get himself back. He noticed the black pistol gun tucked into the back of the others pants and pulled it out on a whim.
He would need something like this if he wanted to leave,
Thanks to all the movies Kai had watched while trying to learn about land, he caught a thing or two about these sort of violence materials and how to use them.
"Why would you carry something like this around?" he muttered. Earlier, he had come to the conclusion that the only way out was probably back the way they came since the windows were blocked.
He turned to the hypnotised male who stood beside him and carefully caressed his cheek, such acts would just make the prey fall into the trance even more and make them easier to control,
"You'll come with me, you'll protect me and you'll die for me, is that clear?" He commanded with a stern gaze and the other nodded. Kai had never tried fighting in his human form before but how hard could it be? Fighting was a mermaids natural survival instinct so he just had to let his instincts get the best of him.
