Chapter 16: Is This A Book World?!
It's been five days since that accident near the cafe, Rei is still in coma without any signs for waking up. Takumi was sitting near his bed with gloomy dull look on his face. If one of his employees or family members were to see him now they will not believe, that this Haggard looking man with dark eye circles, slightly grown sharp beard, pale face red eye like a zombies, They will shout in exclamation saying 'is this there demon lord who is obsessed with cleanness and perfectness'.
Takumi gently stroked Rei's pale white face back and forth, with lots love and distress in his red tired eyes which he will never show it in front of him. Then he started speaking to Rei in a low soothing voice like coaxing a child "it's been almost five days since that accident, when are you planning to wake up ah ? You know since that day many people came to visit you and wishing you to wake up soon like your brother Itsuki, my mom and dad, my second brother, everyone and many more...and finally there is me... please wake up soon don't make me wait". Saying this Takumi leaned down and kissed his forehead softly. While he was kissing him he felt like someone's stroking hair his platinum blonde hair gently. He suddenly flinched and jerked away from Rei and looked up to see....'No one...'. Ever since Rei's accident he felt like someone is staring at him, kissing his cheeks or stroking his hair more often....it feels like....
As he was thinking he saw a nurse came in and informed him about the doctor asking him to come to his room to discuss about the Rei's test results. Takumi got up from the chair looked at the entire room and Rei for one last time, then he went out with a peace of mind thinking that it's his own imagination caused by the lack of sleep... But little did he know 'Its not'.
When the door was closed a pure transparent invisible soul sat on Rei's bed and looked at the sleeping face with a dull look in his eyes. After staring enough the transparent soul called "System" in it's indifferent voice.
As soon as the word left his transparent pale lips a pink powdery, 5 years old size baby like system with blonde hair and green eyes with pink cute face appeared out of thin air. It stared at the invisible soul with a naive look in its eyes like a confused baby... Seeing him not answering, the soul looked at the pink powdery baby system and said "what's the matter? did you become stupid from being in a rest state for the past five days".
Yes, that's right he is been here in this hospital for the past five days. He doesn't know how he arrived here, he clearly remembered being killed by the group of mad men when they cut open his stomach to take out his beloved baby. When he felt his eyes were turning dark he thought he was going to die...but unexpectedly when he opened his eyes he was here. When turned his gaze to look at the room he was shocked silly to see some one who looks similar to him and his husband. At first he thought it was his hallucination caused because of missing his husband, but when as the time pass by he realised the truth that 'it was not'.
So to find the truth he decided to leave the hospital room, but when he touched the door he was pushed by some unknown force to the young man lying on the bed similar to his appearance. He tried numerous times but still he failed to get out off this room. Since he can't go out, So he decided to observe the situation by staying here.
During these past five days he had a little complicated emotions seeing the people who look like his brother, mother-in-law. They came to visit the one lying on the bed with the same appearance and name as him.
'Is this a parallel universe or his past life....?' While he was thinking about things happening he was interrupted by a milky voice...
"Bad host how can you call CoCo a stupid... hmph I will not talk to you"
The pink powdery baby system puffed it's cheeks, narrowed it's little eyes and said in a angry and aggrieved tone.
Rei felt a little guilty for scolding the little system, because according to it he was a five years old system. Moreover he was his savior, if it were not for him, he would have lived as a vengeful ghost... thinking this way he suddenly felt like a biggest scum that is alive on earth...
"I'm sorry, I was little overwhelmed by the situation happening here" Rei apologized in a solemn sincere voice.
Seeing his host apologizing to him with sincerity coco finally let it go it's anger and smiled in its usual signature eye smile.
"Host, why did you called me? Is there anything you need?" coco gave asked him in a serious way like a little adult.
Rei sighed... 'I have read many system novels with powerful systems with many golden fingers but why the heck did I get such a little baby system with no prior experience'.
"Is there any news from your headquarters?"
"What news??" Coco tilted its head and asked cutely.
"About what to do next, we are just waiting here without doing anything... Shouldn't you as a system.... WAIT A MINUTE you didn't contacted them at all?"
The little baby system Coco panicked and shook it's head and said "oops, I forgot, wow..wow..host what should I do, will I fail to pass the test, for not performing well....wow...wow."
At first Rei was irritated by this little baby system but still control the urge to slap it's butt. But now, seeing him cry like a aggrieved child Rei's heart softened, since becoming pregnant with the baby, Rei's manly heart turned into a motherly heart. 'If those things didn't happen will his child be like this naughty, innocent system'.
Rei became emotional, he moved forward and took the little baby system in his arms. Due to them, currently being in a soul state they could hug and touch eachother. Rei coaxed the system for while, when it was finally calmed down he asked "Coco, what is about the test thing you were talking earlier?".
Coco lifted his head and looked at him, once again tears started pouring out of his small cute eyes. Rei panicked and again started comfort him again. After calming down, he was shocked to hear what coco said about the test.
It seems there seems to be a person or some alien or whatever called lord God. He seems to be the one who creates these systems and assigns them to go to certain book world to complete the mission. If they were to complete the task they will be promoted based on their performance and go to next level world. Incase if they were to fail the task they will be punished severely.
Becoming curious about the punishment so he asked "So, what is this so called severe punishment...".
Coco looked at him in a serious strict manner, but if you looked closely you could see a trace of fear in his deep green eyes "being imprisoned in the lord god's little black room".
"What..." Rei was shocked and unconsciously said "is he a pervert or something?... or does he have some special kinky hobby".
As soon as the words left Rei closed his mouth with his hands and looked at the cute innocent little baby system with a confused look of asking him to explain the meaning behind his words.
Feeling a little guilty Rei averted his eyes and said"It's nothing... it's a very terrifying punishment, don't worry I will not let us fail the task...So now you call and ask the head quarters about our mission".
Rei sighed thinking of the additional responsibility of protecting the cute naive little baby system from that perverted lord god.
***Somewhere far way in the outer space***
Lord God : "Achoo...Achoo..."
AI Assistant : "Did you caught the cold the Lord God???".
Lord God : " Ofcourse not" suddenly he laughed with a creepy smile on his face and said "May be my beloved darling Coco is thinking of him..."

Coco disappeared from his sight and started contacting the head quarters...
While waiting for coco, Rei floated in the mid air and still pondering about the facts that the system said about the lord God and the missions. As he was thinking, another important word that the system said emerged in his mind...
"Eh?... WAIT A MINUTE...What did Coco said that the systems do their missions in the book world....So is this a book world or I'm a character in it...."
