Chapter 13: Chapter 13
The girl couldn't hear, she couldn't see, she had no teeth, and she was utterly broken mentally. I kicked Shido's corpse out of his chair to take the large katana that was hanging behind his seat just below the map of japan that was splattered with his blood and brain matter.
The weight of the pistol and my axe had never at any point weighed heavier as I stared down at the girl seemingly sensing my footsteps with her enhanced sense of touch and as I stood in front of her.
The broken girl did all she knew her existence was and attempted with her shaken and scarred hands to pull down my jeans but I softly took her hand into mine as I whispered the incantation to unlock her Aura and as I ignited her aura I sighed utterly defeated as her soul was so weak that it didn't even glow beyond her body with the activation.
'Was this even a life worth living? Would killing her be a mercy and with how broken her soul was... Even performing a miracle with Karmic Battery may not work with how broken she is.' I thought with my stomach roiling at the sight of the girl crying in utter silence as her hand frantically searched for the warmth of another human to occupy her eternal darkness with how her eyes were removed along with her hearing.
I looked at Shido's corpse and then with a snarl of helpless anger and disappointment, I grabbed his ankle, and with a shattering noise I fucking threw his corpse through the fourth-floor window, and with a sick cracking noise, I heard his body collide with the concrete outside at the ground level as I took a deep breath and walked back over to the girl.
"I cannot kill you as you are... Maybe when I get my base between worlds I can get cybernetic eyes or something to try to fix you... But for now, I am sorry I cannot help you." I whispered as I picked her up and carried her downstairs past the corpses of Shido's cult members but at the sight of the girl in my arms.
I saw the surviving men look at her in shame and the women looked at her in disgust so as I loaded her into a truck I spoke to the survivors of my purge as Hina took over watching the nameless broken girl. "Where are the others like her." I asked bluntly as I recalled all to clearly how Shido mentioned this testing for depriving people of their senses and bodies capability to take care of itself in order to make the devil worm consider the host inadequate.
The survivors shared looks and wordlessly I raised my axe in its large battle axe mode and with an ear-ringing sharp explosion came from the sniper rifle form of the mecha shift weapon as I blasted a hole in the floor in front of the survivors. "Answer me now, or I will kill all but one of you to get the answer," I said coldly as I was beyond fury and righteous anger.
I was just tired after today's events, of seeing the depths humanity would sink in their cruelty... I was just so tired.
"Shido used those girls in the first level of the basement that Yuriko Takagi couldn't seal off in time to torment them with the sounds of them being used and their screams as the doctors that Shido rescued from a hospital operated on them... Are you going to put them out of their misery then you pyscho!?" The woman snapped and there was a cold silence as even she realized she overstepped as my cold face remained as still as ice before like an icebreaking ship passing through said ice my hand snapped forward and two loud cracks rand out as my pistol barked and she fell to the ground gurgling choking on the blood seeping out of her chest.
"I cannot do this anymore," I whispered as the survivors threw themselves at me in a desperate bid for survival at that moment as my mystical energies drank in my overwhelming emotions I felt my vision clear with their movements seemingly slowing down as I felt my chakra drain as I raised up my axe now in its shorter battle rifle form and I mowed them all down. I killed every single man and woman there as I couldn't imagine trying to integrate these real psychopaths into my group.
What was telling of the whole Takagi estate under Shido's control was how there was not even a single child or even young teenager within the premise and as I made my way into the basement and saw the horror show within I knew for better or worse that no child would have survived such an experience so I went deeper into the basement to the second level and seeing the large metal door I banged on it.
"Shido and his men are dead," I spoke as I looked up at the camera hanging in the corner in front of the door and I heard an intercom crackle to life.
"Indeed he is, as we all saw it on the CCTV cameras spread out across the estate... Do you plan to kill us and the girls in the pens as well?" I heard the husky lady's voice speak and I shook my head.
"I am friends with your daughter Saya and go to the same school with her. And the school has been made into a settlement that is far better defended than this location... I would like to invite you and the survivors there if possible but I will be taking these pen girls for treatment back at the school regardless." I said bluntly as although the titty monster nurse back at the school was ditsy as all hell she was actually well versed in medical care.
So with my piece said I went into the 'pens' a large room that was clearly a storage area but had been changed to house several small padded cages that houses the girls that had been 'changed' and they came in all flavors.
Late teens, young adults, short and petite, busty and tall, literally every archetype of a woman was within the room with each cage having two of the women, and it was clear they were holding each other for comfort.
All of the women within had already suffered what happened to that other girl so I just princess carried out all the girls out of the pens and loaded them onto a bus that wasn't a burnt-out wreck from me blowing up the vehicles earlier.
"Jake, did you kill them all," Hina asked softly and I nodded giving her a side hug before I spoke.
"Get in the bus Hina we are going home," I said with affection clear in my tone as Hina gently kissed my neck as she was too short to kiss me on my cheek without me bending down to her.
Hina did try to communicate for a bit with the girls by drawing on their hands with her fingers to communicate with them but they had clearly retreated deeply mentally so after a couple of minutes of going around making sure the girls were strapped in safely and I killed the zombies on the outside road I saw Yuriko Takagi stepping out onto the front area beside the bus with her wearing an ornate dress, heels but besides how she held herself in an undoubtedly attractive way. I saw how her purple eyes matched her hair and were locked onto me while she had an Uzi in her hands.
"I hope you saw how guns didn't work on me." I said dully as I stood in front of the door of the bus and Yuriko snorted before her eyes softened on me.
"Young man you are too wound up... I have seen many a good man who was seemingly holding the weight of the world break under stress. And in these times it's only more apparent and clear to my sight." Then her soft smile turned wry as she advised me with somehow almost a straight face.
"I suggest you and that lovely lady just hold up in a nice room and relax for a couple of days until you can't even keep your eyes open so you can't even have nightmares... Anyway, I talked with the rest of the survivors and we wish to follow you to the school due to our numbers being too low now to defend against another large incursion of the infected." She said bluntly and I nodded pointing at a large truck.
"Get everyone on board as we will leave in three minutes, we can come back with more trucks and buses to loot everything," I said and Yuriko nodded turning around with her heels clipping across the ground with her backside swaying as she went to get the people as I took over driving the bus and god dammit I forgot how Japenese vehicles had their steering wheel on the wrong fucking side to my American senses.
