It was a wonderful feeling; a feeling that I want to experience ever since I was a child. A memory from my past that I wanted to forget, but couldn't.
"I'm sorry Haruki, we promise... We'll be reunited again." A voice that I'm unfamiliar with whispered to me.
Right... This is the day I was put on adoption; all I can hear was the voice of my mother apologizing.
I couldn't do anything; I can't make her happy and wipe her tears, because this memory was a fake.
A baby could never harbor memories when he grew old, and these memories from when they put me for adoption is when I was still a baby.
That's why this memory is nothing but a mere fantasy to me.
"Dear, do it." My mother cried while telling my father to do something to me.
"Okay– Haruki, I hope we'll see each other again, goodbye." The other voice which is my father; began to put his hand on my stomach.
"Seal of Fake, Type: Human, Target: Haruki Hotaru–."
"Huh!?, d*mn... it was another dream." What the h*ck is happening? Ever since I turned eighteen last month I kept having a dream about them.
It kept happening day by day after that, it's like it's telling me to do something. Despite not knowing what it's signaling, I couldn't just let it be, I have to fix this someday. "But... This time it's different; again and again, every time I sleep, a different scenario about me or my parents in my dreams always occurs." Am I going crazy? or does fate insisted that I meet them one day? Actually, how am even gonna meet them? I don't know their names and appearances.
What a hassle, even if I want to meet my parents again, it's impossible. I don't even know where they are at now, or worse I don't even know if they're still alive. But that memory is the only one I have something to remember them by.
I stood up uneasy from what has happened, my body was very painful due to the posture of my body when I fell asleep."*Sigh* Okay, now it's not the time to think that! Right now Homura and Asahi are waiting for me." Right now I have something far more important to me.
If I couldn't get this sequel, then my life would be in ruin... Well not really, but If I don't have it, I have nothing to play.
Today is the grand release of the sequel of the legendary game called Hell's Gate, it's truly an amazing masterpiece of a game, so I can't wait to buy it.
With the help of my friend's parents; they've been supporting me ever since my adoptive parents died in an incident a long time ago. This is why I'm very grateful for meeting very nice and wonderful people like them.
Looking at what time it is, it's still 10:00. "Okay... I still have 2 hours left before the grand release of the game we're gonna buy." Luckily I didn't wake up late today. Playing lots of video games can be tiring...
I took time by taking a bath and eating breakfast.
I always eat cup noodles for breakfast, well... I guess because this is the only thing I can eat, and I'm not a great cook, since the last time I cooked my apartment almost got caught in a fire.
And I don't have a job to get money; my adoptive parents both died when I was 15, and my real parents are still unknown. So I can only rely on my best friends, which are Homura and Asahi, and they have the help of their families. Both of them are my friends ever since I was a child, and when my parents died, they did their best to support me, so that's why I'm thankful to them.
Even if the three of us have different parents, we're as close as being siblings, so both of them are very important to me. After all, we've been together for a long time.
Before I wore my clothes I looked at myself in the mirror to check my body. Nothing has changed for me at all but looks like I'm losing some weight right now.
Now... It's almost time, I need to go now, or else they would be mad at me again if I'm late.
I'm almost there, damn... I can't wait to get the ending of my favorite character.
I was already near the store when I notice a little girl crossing the road.
"What is that? Wait... Stop!" I shouted from anxiety after seeing what was about to happen in front of my own eyes.
At the distance I noticed a truck losing its control and was headed to the road where the little girl is crossing.
I can hear the panic of the people at a distance calling for help and running around to get to a safe place.
Due to my fear, I didn't know what to do. I just stood there watching for what was about to happen.
"Wait... The child!" She's still at the road crossing while playing at the same time.
What is that girl doing? Is she stupid? Wait... Now is not the time to think that, I have to save the child.
She's still young and has better things to do when she grew older, you can't be losing your future right now! You need to graduate school, get married, have kids, grow older with your family, and that's when you die. Not right now when you're still that young.
Without thinking, I ran quickly as I can to save the child, but I only pushed her hard to save her and not mine.
Well... I'm already tired of this life, I hope this girl can live a long and wonderful life. Unlike me who relies on the help of others, and didn't have something to repay them.
That's how I, Haruki Mimasaka have been living... Crash! Beep! The giant truck ram into my entire body, and hit me very hard.
It hurts, I can hear many people screaming... It's too loud... Can you all shut up? What is this feeling right now?
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." A crying girl was holding my hands, and kept on repeating the word 'I'm sorry.'
That voice? Is it that little girl that I saved? Then if she's apologizing, that only means that I'm dying right now. What is this? I can't believe that dying feels like a pain, but I can't do anything now that it's late...
But thinking about it, I guess dying in a heroic death isn't so bad at all... Actually, it feels epic that I died saving a girl. "Wonderful... It's truly wonderful..." That was the last word I've said before I finally met my demise.
I'm sorry Homura, I'm sorry Asahi, I guess I'm gonna die before the both of you.
I hope you two won't forget me...
