Chapter 1: Prologue

How should I start with this... This internal monologue, this self-reflection... My name is Bang, and age 81, by profession, and at heart, I am a martial arts expert.

I was feared among my peers in my uncontrolled youth, I was hailed as the strongest genius in my generation, creating two of the most feared Martial arts and mastering 3 of them, being only surpassed by my Onii-san, who carried a greater mind and goal than me.

But...

My life was filled with mistakes, I am human... and I took the right steps to correct myself... I indulged in the life of luxury and dominated all who challenged my authority and power, but after losing to my Onii-san I changed my ways... Choosing to abandon my old style and create a new Martial art.

Opening a school teaching young and misguided souls, and revealing to them the path to self-defense and compassion, self-reliance, and self-reflection.

But...

I failed once again when one of my students chose the path I had taken, a path of dominance, power, and a selfish wish to change the world to his whim.

Sigh...

I succeeded in returning him to light, showing him the right path after giving him a beating good enough to knock some sense into him.

While his wish may be a pure one at heart, he took the wrong steps and isolated himself from the world, becoming a monster in everyone's eye, that might not have affected him but I wouldn't stand such a fate for a child I thought of as my blood, a reflection of me and my youth...

Why am I reflecting on this when everything was going back to how I wanted...

Because somehow I have been transported to an unknown world... A world of ninjas, ninjas unlike what Flashy Flash has described them as.

Ninjas in this world are soldiers, defenders, freedom fighters, and saviors.

Everything that I needed to know was there, but there was a particular mission I was given by the universe, a mission of guidance.

A boy named Naruto Uzumaki, I was cautioned not to approach on my own, a reason I can understand.

I lived in the village hidden in the leaf, a peaceful aura aminated from this village, and the faces of its former and current protectors engraved on the mountain gave a feeling of safety.

But I knew a dark plot was brewing deep within its roots.

The first time I observed Naruto Uzumaki, I saw the extent of the world's cruelty, the scornful look of strangers on a child so small, if had a grandchild they would be of the same age or stature.

The hate was deeply burning within each villagers' eyes, I calmed myself self by meditating but I wanted my mission to start fast, he reminded me of him... Of Garou, the student who almost lost himself.

.....

Fist of the Water Stream Leaf Dojo...

After using the funds I was given when I was transported to buy myself a dojo, meditated daily, and lived on nothing but water... With my funds being very low all I required was a place to sleep and meditate.

A child named Naruto would pass by the road my dojo was located and it felt right for me to invite young children to spread my knowledge with this reason I took some steps out and approached children of various ages from 4 to 10 telling them how my teaching would help them in becoming a ninja.

Well... I did come off as a scheming old man but there weren't any ninjas visiting me so I didn't relent.

I did buy a big area for my Dojo, so the backyard was used for gardening some vegetables and grains enough that once they grew I would be self-sufficient with no need to rely on money I had gathered a plethora of skills in my previous life for becoming separate from the dependent world and could truly live in the mountains.

I had succeeded in recruiting 3 new students, but after my mistakes with Garou and failing Charanko, I knew I had to be strict.

I had started training these hot-blooded children in the physical art of combat.

A child called Yuta with a bright talent and focus, had dreams of becoming the strongest ninja sigh... This was going to be tough I have never trained children as young and foolish as these.

Yuta, Shiori, and Doku I didn't have high expectations from them but I did have high expectations from myself. It was time I made no mistakes in teaching these young and impressionable minds.

1 month of being in the leaf...

In 1 month I recruited 3 children and made myself a respected old man in the community giving a good impression to the people around me and imparting my wisdom when asked, telling my somewhat fabricated stories of the past and about my objective of guiding the youth of today.

My story captivated the people and once again I earned the respect I didn't even prove to have, my reputation seemed to be off the chart within a month since some ninjas in their teens or even some adults took their free time to visit me.

Now either I was being scouted or it was their genuine intention, unlikely but it didn't matter, I was not a drug dealer my intention for guiding the youth was clear.

People saw it when I trained my students, their parents saw it and I always tried to be helpful to others.

My student Yuta who was 8, was also the brightest of the 3, Shiori who was 9, was equally as intelligent and a fast learner, and Doku same as Yuta was 8, but was a little... foolish, they were still in ninja academy, they studied in the same class and were friends, I had made a grandfatherly bond with them that they always came to me first thing after leaving academy and tell me everything that they learned.

While our relationship might have been influenced by their parents to some degree nothing could beat the sparkles in their eyes when they bragged about their Taijutsu spars and how my teachings helped them in becoming the better in their class.

Of course, I was surprised they made such quick progress but that could be due to them being young and knowing more about sparring since they strive to be ninjas.

They were older than Naruto which made Naruto even more impressionable than them, I couldn't help myself from thinking about him and Garou in the same light.

Garou lived a traumatic childhood same with Naruto, I feared what he might become with this festering hate towards him.

I still didn't know why he was so hated, some said he was a monster inside, some say they had lost their family because of him.

I lived in a world where monsters lived to destroy every moment they could get, my student became one but I didn't give up.

Not then not now...

I could sense it very clearly some ninjas carefully watching him, just watching him with total indifference, but I knew they were the reason why I couldn't approach him. A 4 year old child. It didn't make any sense but as I suspected... A deeper plot was behind his existence, his story, and his suffering.

It didn't matter to me what was behind this fake peace, but I knew I needed to make some changes in this Village.

tell me what you think, it's been a long time since something motivated to this extent and obviously my writing may have degraded but with some 'constructive criticism' I'll be back in shape. I'll share more thoughts after more interaction with the audience, thank you for reading.
