Chapter 17: another one!
Before this chapter starts I want to say that I know I suck at writing battles so if you have any suggestions please let me know because the preliminaries are coming up. Give me some feedback.
Also if you have any change of fights you want to see in the exams let me know, I already have some in mind.

There was a team hoping through the trees, "Man what a drag there's only 2 days left and we still need a scroll, this test sure is troublesome." said the kid with a pineapple haircut. "Ah don't worry Shikamaru I'm sure we'll pass!" Said Choji.
"Shut up! You don't understand my struggle right now!" "And what struggle could you possibly have right now Ino?" questioned Shikamaru with a sigh. "I have to be here knowing Sasuke and Sakura are in the forest together! It's unbearable!" screamed Ino.
Shikamaru sighed and came up with a plan. "So guys this is my plan, we should head near the tower and attack some of the groups there." "Won't other teams think that too?" questioned Ino. "That's the point, we attack the weak teams that are weak and waiting." "Sounds like a good plan Shikamaru!" said Choji.
They then hurried quickly to the tower to find their prey. They quickly arrived at the tower, well quickly relative to distance. Shikamaru's plan was to walk up the side of the building and reach the roof where they would have a bird's eye view.
Once on top of the roof, they stared down at the ground trying to find anybody. "Damn it seems they didn't pass the first round for nothing, it looks like nobody is here." "Well maybe there aren't!" said Ino in a sassy voice.
"Hey stop you know how smart Shikamaru is!" yelled Choji back at Ino. "Stop screaming and look, we need to find people fast and hope they have an earth scroll," said Shikamaru with his wisdom.
They continued to look but still could not find anything, it had been hours now and still nothing. "Come on Shikamaru, I know you're smart but you can't always be right!" said the annoyed Ino, before Choji or Shikamaru could say anything else a kunai headed straight for Ino.
"Ah!" She screamed as the kunai barely zipped past Ino's cheek. All of team 10 ducked on the floor, Shikamaru was the only one who poked his head out a little. What he saw was two groups of genin, it seemed they were working together.
"Damn it!" said Shikamaru, "What's going on?" Choji asked, a little scared. "Two teams are working together, they must think we are heading to the tower with both of the scrolls!" "Sasuke save me!" screamed the idiot Ino.
"Let's use what sensei taught us, the Ino-Shika-Cho technique!" "Yeah!" said Choji who curled up into a ball, Ino groaned but got into position. Shikamaru attached his shadow to Choji and then Ino connected the two together with mind transfer.
Choji jumped down and caused a huge amount of dust to rise from the ground. Shikamaru began telling Choji what to do and Choji followed. "Turn left then jump up and twist right!" Choji spun left and crashed into one of the genin sending him flying.
A kunai came after him but he jumped out of the way and twisted into the attacker. Next Shikamaru told him instructions to knock down all the trees. "Got it Shikamaru!" said Choji and he ran into multiple trees.
Soon enough the trees surrounded and trapped the remaining genin, Shikamaru then undid the shadow connected to Choji and connected it to the other genin. "Ino, check all the pockets and see what scrolls they have." Ino followed the instructions.
After doing a search they found two scrolls, one was heaven and the other was earth. "We got an earth scroll! I can't believe it worked!" said Ino excitingly. "Good job, now what to do with them?" In all honesty, Shikamaru had no Idea exactly how to deal with them.
-Gaara and the rest-
"G-Garra were sorry we thou-" before Kankuro could finish "Shut up! Mother is angry." Gaara was pissed not only had he lost to the yellow brat twice now mother was talking about losing to a fox!
Although Gaara didn't know what mother meant he knew it had something to do with the other brat! "Guys I really think we should get the heaven scroll so we can pass." said Temari, "Again shut up I know! I will do it!" Gaara was even madder with his 'teammates' stupidity.
Gaara ran ahead of them and they had to catch up, Gaara was looking for the nearest person to kill! He saw a group of genin hiding out from the monsters in the forest. Without wasting time or breath Gaara wrapped them up in sand and crushed them.
Blood splattered everywhere, "Temari go check." she knew what this meant and searched the body. "Nope, not a single scroll. Must have been taken?" She said, "Useless!" screamed Gaara. They then went on basically a killing spree, Gaara killed everybody he saw without hesitation.
The only problem was that nobody had a heaven scroll! Gaara was getting more pissed by the second and might release the beast if he didn't find one soon. After they killed tons of people they found themselves at the tower.
They saw a three-man team in front of two other teams who looked to be knocked out, Gaara tried to move but couldn't. "Who are you?" questioned the girl while the pineapple boy was kneeling on the floor with an extended shadow.
Gaara didn't answer and threw his sand at the person with the shadow, "What!" screamed Shikamaru in shock, 'he should be under my control?' He knew he couldn't move in time but he also knew he couldn't take the attack, was this how he would die? What a shame.
He expected to be killed but a huge fireball intersected the sand and Shikamaru actually did dodge in time! All of team 10 looked back and were surprised, "Sasukeeee! You're so cool, awesome, and amazing!" screamed Ino.
Gaara felt his blood boiling, it was this kid again! Before Gaara could do something stupid Temari stopped him knowing they could win this battle. "I see you have an extra heaven scroll, can you give it to us?" she asked.
"Why would we? What do we get out of this?" Temari expected this as she was fairly smart also, "even if we can't win this battle I can guarantee us and Gaara can kill a few of you before we lose."
Shikamaru knew this was true, not only could he not stop Gaara's sand but he could feel the intent coming off Gaara he would definitely kill if he wanted. "Ok deal but we get to walk into the tower first." "Deal," Shikamaru said this because he knew there would be jounin in the tower and that lowered the chance of being attacked.
Once both Naruto and Shikamaru's team walked in they passed them the heaven scroll. Gaara eyed Temari, "Do that again and I will kill you!" "I understand Gaara," Temari said respectfully as they walked into the tower.

I thought this turned out better than almost any other chapter but tell me what you think. For a vs battle how about Jiraiya vs Orochimaru, everything allowed. Who wins and why?
