Chapter 58: S-Rank Mission!
Jiraiya was sitting in his office writing a response to the sand, team 7 had just left the village and was heading to the sand. He didn't know all the details other than that the Kazekage was attacked and taken by the Akatsuki. "I think we should send backup, just in case, this is the Akatsuki after all." Tsunade was always careful when it came to the Akatsuki and this time she had an especially bad feeling. Jiraiya nodded, "I will send out team Guy, but make sure team seven gets a good distance away first, they will probably reach the sand in half the time they should. Call them here quickly and tell them to set out."
Jiraiya had a lot to do, he had to talk with the elders and council about this, and he had to get Sasuke's ANBU team figured out, he already had a good vice-captain. Before leaving Jiraiya read his letter again, 'I have received your letter and I am sending out an attack force of all jonins, they will be followed behind by another group of jonins and chunin. We hope we make it in time to save your Kazekage, Hokage.'
Jiraiya didn't have any more time to edit it and send the message, Jiraiya then walked out to attend the emergency meeting. This meeting was attended by Jiraiya, the elders, Danzo, and the 5 top-ranking members of the civilian council. Danzo was the first to speak, "The sand has been attacked by the Akatsuki, we can use this to our advantage by 'failing' to save him. This will severely weaken the sand."
Jiraiya shook his head, Danzo was always after war. "Look, I may not have the power to control anything but I can decide war matters, and we will not have them unless necessary, the Shinobi war is already breaking apart and the chances of conflict are rising, the tailed beasts are being taken and this might lead to war. If there is another war it will weaken everyone, this world is only advancing and eventually, we will end the world. Danzo, If I see you going against my orders I will do everything in my power to end you."
Danzo clearly got the message and stopped pushing it forward, his ROOT was more important than anything else. The civilian council did not like these meetings for one thing, they didn't have any arguments. In most regular meeting the council thinks for months about how to get what they want but in emergency meetings, they cant, mostly because they are dumb. "I think we should retrieve the Kazekage and see how the Sand reacts from there."
As Jiraiya thought, a simple answer with no repercussions. The elders nodded, they agreed with Jiraiya, having a war now would cause too many problems and not much good would come from it. Everyone finished up their thoughts and opinions until they came to a final decision, they would rescue the Kazekage, and if possible make another alliance with the Sand. Jiraiya and the rest then left the meeting. Jiraiya walked back to the office, he still needed to sort things out.
Kakashi and the rest of team seven was running through the trees, "So, who is the Kazekage now?" asked Naruto, "It's Gaara." responded Kakashi in a calm voice, Naruto was shocked he had never expected Gaara to actually become Kazekage, he straight up stole his dream! "I don't want your emotions to disrupt the unit, any of you." "Yes, sensei."
As they were running they saw another person below them, "Temari, wait up!" shouted Sakura. Temari stopped and waited for team seven to land next to her, "What are you guys doing here?" Naruto and Kakashi then explained what happened, "Gaara was protecting the village, but in the process, he was taken by the Akatsuki." "What?! Gaara was taken!" 'I had a bad feeling about today' she thought.
Kakashi then regained everyone, "It will take about two and a half days to reach the sand from our location, let's hurry." "Right." as they were running Naruto couldn't help but wonder why they wanted the tailed beasts, 'do they want to make war on the whole shinobi world? Maybe when they come together it creates something even more dangerous?' it was impossible for Naruto to know the answer at this moment. The fox inside of him considered telling him but soon realized it would cause too many problems at the moment.
Sasuke spoke next, "Our main goal is to retrieve the Kazekage, because this is the Akatsuki it would be bad to get in an immediate fight, they are strong. I think we should do this more quietly if possible, me and Kakashi will sneak in and try to retrieve Gaara if possible, if not possible, well then we have to fight." Kakashi and the rest nodded. But Sasuke wasn't done, "If we meet Itachi, leave him to me, I want to kill him." nobody said anything about that.
They soon reached a land with nothing but sand, "Leave the rest to me, it will be easy to get lost from here." team seven nodded and they continued following Temari. At the gates of the sand village two guards were talking, "Hey, what's that?" "It's the reinforcements from the leaf!" Temari and the others reached the gate. "Hello, we've been expecting you. Please come this way." all of them started running to the meeting place.
As they were running they were getting info, "So they got Kankuro too." "It seems he chased after the Akatsuki." Team seven finally reached the medical room, once in there you could see Kankuro surrounded by medics and two old people, they were doing their best to heal him but were making almost no progress. "Kankuro!" the old lady turned around, 'that's, the white fang of the leaf!' the old lady ran at Kakashi, "Damn you, prepare yourself white fang!" Naruto and Sasuke appeared behind the lady and held her in place. "Sorry, there must be a misunderstanding, my father was the white fang." the old lady calmed down and they began to work on saving Kankuro.

hey, that's the end of this chapter, I wanted to get it out sooner but I was catching up on this arc and got stuck listing to the opening and ending, I forgot how good those were.
