Chapter 8: 8 | The Council
In the meeting room near the Hokage office, we can see Hiruzen, Homura, Koharu and Danzo sitting at the high table and most of the Jonins of Konoha are seated in front of them.
Koharu was the one who spoke first looking at the Jonin Ninjas that have gathered in the meeting room "We repelled the Nine-Tails, but the sacrifice was much too great. This is not the time to lament. The Hokage's seat is empty. We must decide on someone quickly."
"Perhaps someone from the age group below Minato?" Shikaku asked.
"We have nurtured fine Jonin, but they all lack the experience to rule over a village."
"Is there anyone else?" Shikaku asked again.
Hearing this Danzo was about to say something "Well... " But he stopped when he heard the door of the meeting room opening. Then he looked at the source of the sound to find the person who rudely entered the meeting without any prior information. But, the words didn't come out of his mouth and he just stared at the person who entered the room with a dumbfounded expression.
Not only Danzo, everyone in the room was dumbfounded by the person who entered the room. Looking at all of the he spoke "I'm sorry that I couldn't inform you beforehand."
Saying that he walked towards the space between the table and the Jonins sitting.
As he reached there he said, "I'm as confused as you all are so questions can be asked after hearing what I have to say."
Shikaku who came out of his surprise asked "Minato, if you don't mind. I would like to confirm that it is our Fourth Hokage and not an imposter."
Hearing that Minato smiled and said, "How about this."
Saying that Minato whispered something to Shikaku and hearing that he just smiled and said "Welcome back from the dead."
"Thanks."
Then looking at the elders in the meeting room he said "I've sealed the Nine Tail fox in my son. And as the Hokage, I want this matter to be an SS-Class secret. And I won't tolerate anyone trying to spread rumours about him." He said the last part looking at Danzo.
Then he spoke so that everyone could hear "The main reason for keeping it an SS-Class secret is because the Nine-Tails didn't unseal itself from Kushina when she was giving birth to my son. She was kidnapped and the Nine-Tails was extracted by a masked man."
Hearing this all of them had a look of horror, Hiruzen asked him "So you're saying that someone intentionally tried to destroy Konoha using the Nine-Tails?"
"Yes," Minato replied.
"Troublesome..... " Shikaku said to himself.
"I think it's the Uchihas," Danzo said as fast as possible.
Looking at him Hiruzen said, "Why do you think so?"
"We have heard before that the Uchihas can control the Bijū. So we should have them monitored all the time." Danzo replied.
Hearing this Hiruzen sighed and said "We can't blame them. They..."
"I think it's possible." Before Hiruzen could finish, Homura said. "It is possible to be one of the Uchihas, may have been the culprit. And also... "
Homura was cut off by Minato, who said "Can you stop speculating the enemy before I finish my explanation?"
Hearing that there was silence in the room.
Looking at the three of the council members he said "Good. The masked man controlled the Kyubbi using a contract seal. And if you think that person is an Uchiha from our village then you are wrong."
Looking at Danzo he continued "As you know, I'm a sensory ninja, and I know the Chakra Signature of all the Uchihas who can battle. And the one who I fought with didn't have their chakra signature."
Then looking at the rest of the Jonins he said "He didn't reveal his name himself, but he might be Madara Uchiha."
A heartbeat was skipped of all the Jonins present in the room hearing that name.
Danzo the ever stoic man said "It's impossible. He wouldn't have lived this long. And also he was killed by Lord First and was safeguarded by Lord Second himself."
"I'm not saying that he died. But what if there is a way for him to get his life back. A jutsu that we all don't know?" Minato asked.
"It could be possible. Not many things are known about the Sharingan." Shikaku said.
"Then we will have to call in..... " Before he could finish what he was saying he looked in a direction and muttered to himself "So he is there."
Then he said "Ro."
"Hai Hokage-sama." The ANBU Ro came out from the shadow.
"Tell Fugaku Uchiha, that I need to meet him within ten minutes. I'll be in the office." Minato told him.
"Hai. Hikage-sama." Saying that Ro left the office.
Looking at the confused faces of the ones present he said "I'll be back in a minute."
Minato teleported away from the meeting room and went towards where Naruto is and picked him up and teleported to his room.
When he appeared there he saw Ichigo and Kushina speaking with each other while crying, smiling at that he said "Kushina."
Hearing her name called by the man she loved she jumped from the bed towards him but stopped in mid-air when she saw Naruto in his hand.
Looking at Kushina he said "Take care of Ichigo and Naruto." and he kissed her forehead.
Looking at Minato, Kushina asked, "Where are you going?"
Looking at her with wrath-filled eyes, but a composed face he said "To hunt down the bastard who almost took away both of us from the life of Ichigo and Naruto."
Kushina looked at Minato and said, "Just be careful okay."
Nodding at her Minato teleported to the Hokahe office.
