Chapter 18: Wave mission [2]
Now Team 7 was successfully riding in a boat of Tazuna's friend. They are using a thick fog as a cover.
"Wow the mist is so thick" Sakura asked curiously.
"Please be quiet we don't want to be spotted by Gato's goons" Tazuna's friend requested.
'Kid you could have thrown that Uchiha bastard to me I would have disciplined him for you' Kurama said in Naruto's mind.
'Sorry I totally forgot, next time something like this happens you are the first to go at him' Naruto assured the grinning fox.
Naruto could already sense two jonin level chakra waiting for them at the shore. He was really looking forward to fight Zabuza. After they reached the shore they thanked for the ride and started walking.
Naruto then threw a kunai into a bush and went to check it out.
"Don't scare us Naruto" Sakura protested. Naruto came back with a snow rabbit.
"Kakashi sensei I got this snow rabbit as dinner, it's very rare to see one of them here in summer. It will be tasty don't you think so?" Naruto slightly gave hint to be careful which caught the attention of Kakashi.
Suddenly a cleaver like big blade spinning fast flew towards their neck. "EVERYONE GET DOWN" Kakashi shouted. Hearing that everyone got down. Naruto took his blood red Katana and drew it inside the hole in the cleaver. He let the spinning moment rest and sheathed his sword. Seeing the danger subsided all of them stood up. Holding the big sword Naruto took a few swings.
Suddenly a figure appeared from the bushes and was standing near the river bank. "Give me back my sword brat" Zabuza demanded.
"Hippity hoppity your Kubikiribocho is now my property" Naruto mocked in a teasing manner. Hearing that the group was fighting the urge to laugh, even Haku who was hiding was giggling, except for Zabuza who was fuming.
"Demon Momochi Zabuza, former member of Seven Swordsman, a Rogur-nin. It's an honor to meet you" Kakashi said.
"The Copy ninja Sharingan Kakashi, who have said to have copied more 1000 jutsus. I've never expect you to become a babysitter" Zabuza mocked and released his killing intent.
Experiencing his KI Sakura, Sasuke and Tazuna were trembling in fear, since it is their first time facing a heavy KI. Naruto who was experienced facing Kurama's KI, he scoffed it off since it is nothing much.
"Why are you guys talking instead of fighting...here...Momochi Zabuza, I Uzumaki Naruto challenge you to a duel only using Kenjutsu" Naruto said while throwing the heavy blade to Zabuza with ease. Then Sasuke and Sakura stood before Tazuna to protect him.
"Hahahaha Kakashi you got a brainless brat to babysit. Brat, I'm one of the Seven Swordsman, I'm tougher than you can imagine" Zabuza smirked.
"I don't think they are that great. I heard a Konoha genin totally destroyed all seven of them in battle, while killing four and deeply injuring the other three. I think his name is Might Dai also he only used Taijutsu." Naruto mocked him to which Zabuza got angry.
Zabuza disappeared and appeared behind Naruto swinging his cleaver at his neck. Seeing that attack Naruto just unsheathed his sword half way and blocked the cleaver and slid it through his sword in a confident smile.
Spinning around Zabuza built up his momentum and took another shot at Naruto, who just went back and dodged him. Zabuza went backed off near the river to put some distance between them. 'This kid is strong, he blocked my attack with ease, he swang Kiribocho like it was nothing and threw it like it was a stick, better not hold back' Zabuza thought.
"Kakashi sensei protect the client for me in my place please, I got a duel challenge to uphold" Naruto asked.
"No Naruto, as a jonin sensei I can't allow you to fight him" Kakashi objected.
"I'll comply only if you treat me to ramen" Naruto challenged Kakashi, he knew that his sensei was saving up for a new book.
Hearing that Kakashi paled in thought of treating Naruto to ramen and said "It's fine Naruto, take your time."
Seeing this events, Zabuza was angry that he was being underestimated and let loose of his restraints. Seeing Zabuza Naruto smirked and went dashing towards Zabuza, while he also did the same.
*Cling* *Cling* *Clang*
All the rest could hear was sounds of continuous clashing of swords and they could only two blurs, only Kakashi could follow the movements. The sound stopped and they are seeing two figures standing in the lake opposite to each other with a grin in their faces.
"Naruto can stand on water" Sakura asked in disbelief. Sasuke also stared at that but didn't ask anything.
"Naruto has good chakra control and is good in Kenjutsu to even go toe to toe with one of the Seven Swordsman" Kakashi was amazed. Sasuke was full of envy that Naruto was that good.
"You are good brat. You said you're name is Uzumaki Naruto right, I'll remember your death till I die" Zabuza appreciated the kid, since it's been a long time he was riled up like this.
"How about we stop with the warm up and become serious" saying that Naruto reduced a level of his restriction seal.
"WHAT!!!' X4, this was the reaction of the group standing in the shore.
"That was a warm up?" Sakura asked shakily seeing the show down.
Naruto with his increased speed gliding in the surface of the water and pointed his katana to Zabuza's Heart. Since the attack was faster than before, Zabuza can only block the attack with his wide blade.
Seeing Zabuza's vision of him is blocked, Naruto retracted his sword and kicked the blade. Due to the blunt force of the attack Zabuza was pushed back and stumbled.
Seeing this opportunity Naruto punched his thumb and index finger with charka at Zabuza's right arm and shoulder. Attacking Zabuza's pressure point Naruto backed and prepared his sword for attack. 'All that learning about human body was totally worth it' Naruto thought.
Seeing incoming attack Zabuza tried to counter, but his hand right hand went limp and he couldn't feel it. Getting close to Zabuza, Naruto continuously disappearing and reappearing around Zabuza slicing him with Lightning chakra many times.
Zabuza's whole body went limp due to the Lightning chakra, at that time few senbons flew towards Zabuza and pierced his neck. Suddenly Haku disguised himself as a Hunter-nin with a mask appeared next to Zabuza.
Kakashi appeared next to Naruto and looked at the new comer "A Hidden Mist Hunter-nin?" he murmured. From one look he could tell that the shinobi in front of him is the same age as his students.
"Thank you for taking him down, I've been tracking him down for months." said Haku. Kakashi went and checked Zabuza's pulse and confirmed that he was dead. After that Haku took off with Zabuza. Then Kakashi and Naruto went to regroup with their team.
"I never thought they teach to use swords in academy Naruto" Sakura asked.
"Academy is only for basics Sakura, the rest you have to learn in the real world. Shinobi world and life is not like a path filled with flowers like Iruka sensei said, it is a gruesome one. If you want ask Kakashi sensei he even participated in a war, he will tell how gruesome it is" Naruto said in a wise tone.
"Naruto is right Sakura, path of shinobi is filled with thorns" Kakashi stated.
Sakura was in heavy thought, while Naruto said "Don't worry Sakura, during our stay here Kakashi sensei will train you and Ducky chan for our next encounter with Zabuza"
"What are you talking about Naruto?" Kakashi was confused.
"Didn't you find anything weird about the new comer sensei, and here I thought you were a clever one" Naruto mocked Kakashi. After a few seconds it hit him.
"He took the body, instead of dealing with it on the spot. And his choice of weapon is questionable, and he hit in places where the body can be put in a near death state" Seeing Kakashi's face Naruto explained to the group.
"If you knew that it was an accomplice of Zabuza why did you let them go?" kakashi asked curiously since he can't comprehend his students action.
"He must have been afraid that the enemy got back up" Sasuke complained.
"No, I let them go because I don't want to kill him. Do you guys know about a custom in Kirigakure, that if you have to graduate from academy you need to kill a classmate" Naruto paused to let the information sink in.
"It is later abolished because a kid came in and killed all of his classmates who came for graduation. It was Zabuza who did it, that's why I let him go" after Naruto said that all of them was confused even Kakashi.
"If he was that dangerous why did you let him go. Baka" Sakura scolded.
"Sakura as a ninja you must always see underneath the underneath" Naruto riddled.
Every one was confused again by Naruto's words but Kakashi caught what Naruto was talking about and explained, "The higher ups in Kirigakure abolished that type of graduation, only after Zabuza killed everyone. Even now he fought Naruto only with Kenjutsu, he didn't use any Ninjutsu"
"He is a man of pride and has his own principles, that's why I want to talk to him rather than kill him. And from what Tazuna told us about Gato, I can tell he will kill Zabuza than pay him" Naruto paused.
"Well let's get moving"
"Tazuna san can we stay at your place for a while" Kakashi asked. Tazuna just nodded and everyone started walking while Sasuke thought 'Next time I will prove myself'.
