Chapter 21: Chapter 20
Aki just stared at me with tears in her eyes. She believed it. She brought me closer and said "Hakuto, revenge at your age isn't something your parents would want. They would want you to live a happy life."
At first I didn't believe if she was telling the truth, but after I read her thoughts, I got to know that she was telling the truth. I was amazed by her good will in this world.
In here, you try to give someone a hand, they will pull you down and get up. Kindness is only a curse in this world. I learnt that in only a year of living in this world.
I also noticed that Hiroshi, her son, was quiet the whole time. I tried reading his thoughts as his face showed some displeasure.
He thought "Tch.... Why is mom showing this much care for this stranger. He is just a lowly scum that lives on the streets. He only saved us, a reward will be more than enough for this idiot. No need for this much care. Unless, this is what he planned, was he going for this? Does he have something planned?"
It was clear that he was the spitting image of his father. Looks like he has his suspicions and asked "Why did you save us?"
I noticed that even Aki was curious about this. I replied "It's just karma. Your mom wanted to save me even when she wasn't sure if she would live. Her good will was what made me save you."
This was the only truth I said that whole day. Aki replied "When I first saw you, I could tell by your eyes that you were having a tough time. It reminded me of my past. That's why I wanted to save you. I didn't know that you were a ninja and didn't need saving."
I corrected her "I am not a ninja. I just learnt a few basic things from my father."
Aki then asked "What do we do now? All the ship crew is dead."
"We are lucky that we are close to Kumogakure when they attacked. Anything in the sea reaches the shore. So, all we have to do is wait." I replied.
She nodded and looked around. She looked sick and it made sense. We were surrounded by dead bodies. Any normal person would feel sick.
She made food for us with some ingredients on the ship, because this was a ship for rich people. They obviously had food. And to say that she is a good chef would be an understatement.
If she was born in my previous world, she would be a michelin star chef. I ate like a man who was offered food after one week of starvation.
Aki was happy that I liked her food and Hiroshi was disgusted seeing me eat without manners. The boat drifted along the currents and after a week, we arrived at a port.
It was supposed to take only two days, but I guess that was the time it would take to if we had caught the correct current, but I wasn't a navigator.
When the boat arrived at the port, we weren't allowed to dock. Since ports are also borders of the country, there were some ninja from Kumogakure.
They got onto the ship and shouted "Whoever did this, come out immediately."
We came out of the room and all the ninjas were on high alert. One ninja stepped forward and asked "What happened here?"
He didn't doubt us, as one woman and two kids can't wipe out ninjas. Aki explained to him "We were attacked by pirates. They killed everyone after looting us. We hid among some bodies to escape."
The ninja pulled out a kunai. He obviously didn't believe us. He said "Do you want me to believe that 20 Chunin level ninja were killed by pirates. Tell us the truth or you are the ones who would suffer."
Since she didn't know what happened outside, she doesn't know that ninja were involved. So, I used Mind Touch Style: Telepathy, to talk to her telepathically.
After I used the technique, I said "Big sis Aki, don't get scared, it's me Hakuto. Don't show any changes in your expression, or they won't believe us."
Aki was surprised, but slightly shook her head. I said "Big sis Aki, I had seen a kirigakure ninja outside from the window. His forehead protector had scratches. I couldn't see his face in the darkness."
Aki narrated the same thing and the ninjas finally believed us. Then the ninjas looked at Aki and said "We will have to investigate this matter further as this could be a national level incident. This could be a sign of kirigakure wanting to start a conflict with the Land of Lightning.
You are free to go. Our ninja will escort you to your house and will collect a detailed report from you."
Aki thanked him and two ninjas immediately disappeared. The ninja wasn't wrong. Aki told me about her life in the Land Of Lightning.
They lived in the capital city, Arashi. The city was supposed to be huge and their family was one of the richest ones in the city.
Aki's husband was a merchant and had quite an influence in the city as he had a good relationship with the Lightning Daimyō. It was a lie, as when I read her thoughts I found out that her husband and the Lightning Daimyō's wife often slept together and that's how he got her support.
Apparently, the Lightning Daimyō wasn't able to satisfy his wife on bed. So, she went with Aki's husband who was good at it.
The Lightning Daimyō knew of their relationship, but couldn't do anything as he was ashamed to let anyone know that he couldn't even pleasure a woman properly.
He could hire ninjas and wipe out their whole family, but they had a pretty good influence in the city even without Lightning Daimyō's support. Aki's family also had highly trained ninjas as guards.
So, only the Raikage or the jinchuriki could touch Aki's family. And even if he did some how wiped them out, his capital city would take a huge blow as Aki's family had monopolized almost all the food supplies in the city.
So, they were pretty much the boss of the land. We travelled by a carriage for two weeks and arrived at the capital city. The ride was the worst one. Even though we got the most costliest one, it was still a painful ride.
Even a small pebble would move the carriage and since I was small, with no proper food, I was light and would fly everytime the carriage went on a pebble. I did want to use chakra and stick my feet on the carriage, but we had a ninja with us. I didn't want to be discovered.
After we arrived at the city, I was excited. It was the first time I had seen that view.
