Chapter 27: [Assassination Training]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Disclaimer: The knowledge being so selflessly bestowed to our MC in this chapter will be a bit on the 'darker' side.

Probably shouldn't be saying this in my novel, but try not to visualise what is being taught. Take it from the person writing this, it is not good for your mental health...

And the government is probably knocking on my door considering what I had to google for this chapter.

*Sigh*

Then again I could be overreacting, and perhaps everyone will be fine with this chapter. I mean I did reduce how descriptive it was.

Maybe?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day Sasuke found himself staring at the ceiling from his bed.

'I don't understand why I feel so tired these days...' Sasuke sighed as he felt his thoughts slowly drift. He didn't feel so exhausted when he was back at the academy regardless of the crazy training he carried out some days.

Forcing himself up from bed, he readied himself for his third day at this facility. In an almost mechanical manner, he set out from his room and began heading to the dome-like building again.

He saw the receptionist again and for the first time began to wonder, 'Is she always here?'

Sasuke had seen her at this desk every day he'd been here, though he hadn't been here long, he had noticed she was here when he entered a room for training and would also be there when he left a room after training.

Upon noticing Sasuke's familiar figure, the woman smiled brightly and asked him "Third day for you isn't it? Well, it's Assassination techniques today, I hope you don't feel too bad after today's session."

Her words didn't exactly bode well for the young Uchiha, but it's not like he could do anything at this point. With a resigned sigh he followed behind her as she led him towards another room.

The door has a sign on it labelled, 'Assassination Training- Room 1'. Similar to his perception training room, this one seemed rather normal from simply observing the door in front of him. The receptionist opened the door before ushering Sasuke into the room, after doing so she hummed a tune to herself and hopped away- presumably back to her desk.

Sasuke scanned the room he was in, honestly surprised by its appearance. It was a large office space with a big and small chair surrounding a table. The rest of the room was seemingly styled after a Biology classroom from Sasuke's experience as Ren, there were various anatomy models spread around the room along with numerous shelves that were stacked to the brim with thick textbooks.

On the big chair behind the desk sat what seemed to be a young man, who wore a black cloak over his body whilst a snake-shaped Anbu mask decorated his face.

"You must be my student for today?" The man asked Sasuke, his voice possessing a rough and hoarse quality to it.

'Orochimaru's family?' Was the first thing that popped into Sasuke's head as he heard the man in front of him whose entire appearance and voice seemed to scream 'I'm a villain!'.

"Yes, my code name is Okami," Sasuke replied, desperately trying to prevent his intrusive thoughts from making him say something he probably shouldn't.

"Well, you can simply call me Hebi-sensei. Our first lesson today will simply be introducing the various vital regions of the human body. Later lessons will focus on what weapons you should employ when targeting these vital positions as well as the correct way to use the weapons in a more 'efficient' manner." Hebi continued as he began to introduce what he would be teaching here.

"Let's start from the basics. You might simply think that a human will have two vital spots, the brain and heart. But that couldn't be further from the truth. First of all, you have the eyes which when targeted will not only cause your target to lose their visual perception- but they will also be subject to a horrific pain that may be debilitating in certain cases.

Next, you have the temples on your head. Targeting them will not ensure a painful blow to your foe, but if done correctly you can disorient them and if done exceptionally well you may even make them lose consciousness.

Slightly lower down, at the base of the head and back of your neck you have a prime position to aim for. This area when exploited can either directly knock your foe unconscious or if you use a sharper tool you can kill them almost instantly. Remember! This is important! This position will be the one you should target if you want to kill your opponent whilst ensuring they don't make a sound, which is very useful for our line of work.

Then there is the more common one, the neck. Now this one is complicated as it will depend heavily on what you have to strike the target. You should only target it when you have something sharp in your hands and you shouldn't slash. You should thrust your weapon directly slightly off-centre from the neck." Hebi went off explaining each vital point that Sasuke should pay attention to, most likely in a bit too much detail.

"Here's an uncommon one next. It's the shoulders..." Hebi whipped out a human model from below him and began animatedly pointing at the various positions that would yield the greatest results.

"Anyways, that's enough for today. Here take this book, and read the pages I marked for our next lesson. You should get going." Hebi's voice, previously excitedly explaining the best places on the human body to target for killing, soon morphed back to his calm and collected 'villain-like' tone.

Though for Sasuke at this point he may consider the enthusiastic Hebi more of a villain...

He held out the weighty textbook that was sitting on his desk and passed it to Sasuke. The dark green book was stuffed with numerous loose sheets of paper within its pages, each holding a collection of various notes.

Sasuke, holding onto the book, made his way out of the room his eyes vacant as he blankly stared into the empty void in front of him.

'That lesson...' He found himself struggling to even express his current feelings about what he had just been taught.

Though he had always known that by coming into this world, it was inevitable for him to take a life. But it was only after this lesson, that it properly sank in.

He then caught a glimpse of the book he was holding and a wry smile stretched across his face, 'Didn't think I'd have to do homework in this world. There wasn't any homework for us at the academy now I think about it. Ah, shouldn't have taken that for granted...'

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere else

A certain trio found themselves lying on a familiar plot of lush grass, staring at the sky above them.

"This is such a drag... Were days always so long?" Shikamaru asked the two beside him.

"I'm not even sure myself. Normally I'd be enjoying some good food, but I can't find enough energy in myself to eat. I just feel a bit... " Choji responded to Shikamaru but found himself unable to properly describe his state.

"Tired?" Naruto finished off Choji's words as they slowly descended into silence.

"Normally, at this point wouldn't Sasuke drag us off to train somewhere?" Naruto asked a question of his own.

"Probably. He always did say it was for our good. He honestly talked like my mother at times." Shikamaru responded as he rolled his eyes in resignation and Choji nodded in agreement from the side before interjecting as they soon found themselves settling into silence again.

"Do you guys think we should train by ourselves now?" Choji asked.

"Sure." Surprisingly it wasn't Naruto but instead Shikamaru who responded, to the shock of the other two boys.

"Why are you guys so surprised? I don't like training but at the same time, if I don't, I'll be left in the dust by Sasuke." Shikamaru helplessly explained to the two beside him, as despite his nonchalant demeanour Shikamaru truly didn't want to be too far behind his friend.

"So..." Naruto tried to say something.

"I know what you're thinking, Naruto. You probably won't be able to graduate early, given your 'special' situation. And we'll have to wait for Ino to catch up, as we'll likely form a team," Shikamaru remarked as his eyes fixed themselves onto the clouds passing by overhead.

"But," he continued a glint of determination flashed in his eyes, "at least if we keep training, we'll be able to give Sasuke a nice surprise once he comes back to see us. It might be a drag, but it's worth it for his sake at least."

They slowly got up before making their way over to a vacant training ground somewhere in the village. Each of them practising different things. Shikamaru practised his Shadow Binding Jutsu on Naruto who with the gravity seals Sasuke gave to him kept trying to dodge the shadows that snaked towards him, whilst he incorporated the Body Flicker Jutsu into his movement.

Choji was by the side repeatedly using his clan Expansion Jutsu, enlarging various limbs in an attempt to get used to how they feel when using the Jutsu. Sweat pooled on his forehead as he kept going with this repetitive task, determination shining in his eyes as he continued.

The young boys all worked towards a common goal as they trained together throughout the day. Today may be their first time training like this, but it certainly wouldn't be their last...

Nah, Sasuke is traumatised.

RIP

I hope he recovers by our time-skip the next chapter.

Also, I have realised I should probably be putting my Patreon details here in every chapter.

But who am I kidding?

I'll probably forget to do this by the next chapter.
