Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Funeral and Bounty

They held a small burial ceremony for Haruto at the outpost, shared a few words about him, and talked about their memories. They were pretty much the only ones besides Inoichi-sensei and his family who would remember the orphaned Genin. Of course, he got inscribed onto the memorial stone, a kunai-shaped structure having all the Shinobi listed that died in service of the village. He also received his own grave, at least the parts remaining of him as his body was majorly blown apart. All they could gather was sent back to the village to receive its last rites.

But there just weren't many people who would remember an orphan Genin without any family. His legacy could be considered one of the saddest in this whole world, only surpassed by an orphan eliminated during Danzo's Root training, who would absolutely not be remembered by anyone.

Hana was having a hard time overcoming what happened. She was a pretty much normal girl entering her teenage years, only intellectually aware of how the world was, having learned it from history lessons in the Academy, experienced it in the most gruesome way possible.

Tekku had no trouble accepting what happened. He pretty much experienced three deaths himself, as the survival of this body was a fluke, and experiencing the death of someone so relatively close just ignited a fire in him that he had to work harder to survive. He was much too weak and didn't have a magical cheat in the form of overpowered magic eyes or a massive chakra monster or even some secret Clan techniques. No, if he wanted to survive, he would have to create his own cheats.

He already realized that he was much too defenseless currently and only survived through the element of surprise until now. Which was absolutely unacceptable and had to be changed as soon as he returned to Konoha. Especially after receiving the most recent piece of news today. In front of him on the table lay a small black book that he received today from Commander Sarutobi. It had a particular page marked. It was his own Bingo book entry in the newly released version from Iwagakure:

Name: Tekku Alias: None Rank: Genin, C-Rank Bounty Affiliation: Konohagakure Description: Tekku is a genius from Konohagakure, no known relatives or other relevant information. He has short and spiky black hair, with pale skin, and black eyes. He is around 8 years old and has a corresponding height and a slim build. During the last encounter, he wore a black shirt and jacket, dark grey combat boots, and black metal capped combat boots. On his back were an assortment of scrolls and one bag.

Known Abilities:

Earth Style Ninjutsu, including the Earth Style: Hiding like a mole technique.

Puppetry, he used two puppets, one bulky for defense and another one for offense with deadly Chakra Blades, exerting damage on high levels.

May be a Sensor, as he was able to locate and ambush his targets with impaired vision.

Crimes and Threat Level: Killed a Chunin and Tokubetsu Jonin from Iwagakure, while injuring another one heavily in the same fight.

Reward: A substantial reward of 1,000,000 Ryo has been offered for successful elimination or capture. This bounty is open to all capable shinobi who dare to confront and subdue this dangerous genius. It's recommended to complete it fast before he can grow any further.

Note: Target should be handled carefully, as he likes to employ crafty tactics using ambushes and distractions. A team of skilled perceptive Shinobi, including a capable Sensor Nin, is recommended.

Disclaimer: Engaging with Tekku is at your own risk. The listed bounty and reward are subject to change based on the discretion of the village authorities or governing bodies responsible for this mission.

Well, on the bright side, they didn't know about his skills in Fuinjutsu, his most likely strongest ability if he had enough preparation time. On the downside, they were aware of everything else, even his Sensory Skills and especially his Puppet Trump cards. This will make all his future missions much more dangerous in the future, as he could attract a random bounty hunter spotting him anytime.

1,000,000 Ryo was a massive amount of money for a Genin. To be honest, it was a bounty only common in Tokubetsu Jonin levels or weaker Jonins. With this massive target, he would attract all kinds of attention who wouldn't say no to an easy target. He may survive a Tokubetsu Jonin with luck, although unlikely since they would be prepared if they recognized him.

He had to raise his power level quickly, but he already realized that his progress in his current strength begins to stagnate. Puppetry, even with the ability to control 10 puppets, was on the technological level of the Naruto world always one of the weaker abilities. Poison, hidden weapons, or even Chakra Blades could only do so much against a fully trained Jonin. No, he would have to improve the quality of his puppets or the quantity.

But neither of these was easy to accomplish with the conventional method. Refining his skill to be able to control 10 high-quality puppets like Chiyo only to reach low to mid Kage level in strength would take years, years that he didn't have. Neither was the option of turning himself into a human puppet and being able to control hundreds of puppets an option he wanted to consider. Having a puppet army was cool, but giving his flesh up for that was not. No, he didn't have psychological issues like Sasori to consider such a method for only such limited levels of strength. It would do more harm than good, as it would completely remove any growth his own body could have.

Neither Sasori's Red Secret Technique nor Chiyo's White Secret Technique were options for him. Well, Kankuro's Black Secret Technique was even less of an option, as it was simply too weak compared to the both mentioned above. No, he had to continue to develop his own Green Secret Technique further.

For that, he would have to first return to the village and start more serious research into Chakra and Jutsu, as he at this point already confirmed most of the physical, chemical, and biological laws that he could. With Fuinjutsu, he had created advanced machinery allowing him to create more advanced tools for his research like microscopes and more, which he used to confirm the laws of nature.

Now it was time for the next step, as he already had multiple theories and ideas where his improvement should take him. For now, he had to focus on completing the rest of the mission. Losing a whole outpost made it impossible for them to leave until the situation had calmed down, as they were even shorter on manpower at the Northern Border.

Even though he was still a Genin, he was a valuable asset with his Fuinjutstu and would continue to use it in support of the area. For their more normal patrol mission, they would be joined by either one of the Tokubetsu Jonin or Jonin, as they were missing one man. And with the heightened tension in the area with Iwagakure, the additional fighting power was necessary.
