Chapter 18: Poaching clans

Grandpa said "By the way Yoriichi, the clans we have send an invitation to join our village have accepted and have already reached the village. We have to thank you for it. Thanks to your suggestions, we managed to get 2 strong clans to join our village. Now, we just might be one of the strongest villages. Heck, we might just become the 6th great village hahahaha."
"That's awesome grandpa."
Now you all might be wondering what we are talking about let's go back in time by 5 months.

Yoriichi P.O.V
I have finished today's training. Now i was waiting for Grandpa to start his lesson.
"Alright today we will be talking about different clans in konoha, The different clans in konoha are....." He continued the lecture for about an hour about things which I already knew.
I suddenly had a question so I asked grandpa
"Grandpa, why don't we have so many clans in our village like other villages?"
"We have not thought about having more clans since the village thinks that since there will be no more fighting between different clans or wars so there is no point in increasing our village strength by having more clans."
"But Grandpa is not that naive? I heart uncle Hashi started this era of peace and of great villages but what if some day Uncle Hashi is no more, we should think from the future perspective." I lectured my grandpa which was kind of funny a 3 and a half year old lecturing a nearly 60 old man.
Grandpa stayed silent for a few moments deep in thought.
"Well, you might be right Yoriichi. I think you have a point there. I will put in a meeting with different clans heads and see if we can get some new clans in our village. Land and space won't be a problem since we have plenty of free space. I even have two clans in mind which we can approach."
I was visibly suprised that he accepted my proposition this quickly.
"Which clans do you have in mind grandpa?" I asked curiously
"There are two clans that I can contact and ask them whether they would like to join the village.
Both these two clans have good numbers and have extraordinary kekkei genkais. They will be really helpful for the village."
"These clans are Chinoike clan and Kurama clan.
Let me tell you more about these clans."
"During the Warring States Period, the Chinoike were one of the many mercenary ninja clans active in the Land of Lightning. At some point, a woman of the Chinoike clan married the Land of Lightning's daimyō. The daimyō's first wife became jealous of her, and when the daimyō died soon after their marriage the first wife blamed the woman and her clan for the daimyō's death. Many believed the first wife's lies, causing the entire Chinoike clan to be banished from the country. The Uchiha clan were hired to carry out this task, and they forced the Chinoike clan to settle in the Valley of Hell in the Land of Hot Water.
The Valley of Hell was thought to be uninhabitable. Ninja from the nearby Yugakure checked in on the Chinoike clan a few months after they were relocated to the valley and found them drinking what appeared to be blood; it was actually only water filled with high iron content. Unwilling to investigate further, Yugakure declared the Valley of Hell off limits.
Chinoike are still able to survive there, surviving off the valley's minimal wildlife."
"So they would love to come here and live more comfortably here. Clan members of this clan possess the Ketsuryūgan, a Dojutsu that grants them the ability to manipulate liquids with high iron content which is essentially blood.The Ketsuryūgan allows them to perform powerful genjutsu. Despite there scary Kekkei Genkai they are actually very peaceful and were respected as well as feared for their strength by a lot of shinobi during the warring state period. Also some of their members don't show signs of ageing, some members who are hundred years old have the appearance of a kid.But they would not want to leave that river they like it there."
'Oh, I remember this clan from anime. They are the vampires of shinobi world with powers to control blood, not ageing and hypnotism (Genjutsu), jeez every story can't be complete without something vampire related.'
'They are a strong clan if we can get them here , we will have our own Dojutsu clan. Think for a solution Yoriichi think.'
Suddenly an imaginary light bulb glowed above my head.
"Grandpa what if we settle them near the dead mountain since there is a lot of iron content there. Also we can bring the red hell river here by just using storage seals. We should have a lot of them right? Also we can promise to give them a storage vessel where they can store water from these rivers and use them in battle anytime they want since they will easily be able to carry them."
'Thankyou Gaara'
"That's a wonderful idea Yoriichi. You will really become the best kage there is. Even better than your wood pecking uncle Hashirama Hahahahaha"
"Now tell me about the second clan."
"The second clan is Kurama clan. They have a kekkei genkai related to Genjutsu.
They have the ability to send people in a very strong Genjutsu with the help of just their voice.
They are planning to go to Konoha but they are still hesitant a little bit since they have a sort of enmity with the uchiha clan. So I can ask them to come here besides I can steal a clan from that wood pecker just like he stole my daughter from me hahahaaha."
'Grandpa really doesn't like uncle Hashi huh. Anyways Kurama clan is also another good clan.By the time of canon, most of them had died.'
'These two clans would really make the Uzumaki village strong and might just deter the invasion. But still I will find the traitors in the village if there is any.'

That's how uzushiogakure got two new clans where one clan is a Dojutsu clan and another with a strong Genjutsu.

Author Notes
The reason I chose these two clans is because I believe these clans had a lot of potential and we're underutilized in anime.
Second reason is that along with Yuki, Hoshikage ,Aizen( crystal release) , Chinoike and Kurama clan doesn't have much role in canon. So changing them won't change the canon by much and I don't want to change canon by much until I can't help it. By using these clans , the only things we won't have are haku , chino , kisame and guren who we can just replace by other charu. Chino and guren don't even matter that much.
