Chapter 18: Chapter 18 - End of the Mission
Arriving at the palace, Kagami easily slipped inside and discovered that the rest of the squad was there. Even Mira was among them, making him the last to arrive, as he appeared next to her silently. However, they weren't the only ones there as the blonde teen was also there with the young queen.
After listening for a few moments, Minato and who he assumed to be Naruto were bickering about something. It seemed that Naruto promised to leave the city but broke the promise. So now Minato was concerned that this unknown Konoha ninja was interrupting their mission.
Finally with a long silent sigh, Minato took off his mask revealing his face as he signaled for the rest of the squad to do the same. Lowering the scarf that covered his face, Kagami followed the order and watched Naruto's reaction. Who did not let him down as his eyes nearly popped out of his head as he looked at not only Minato, but Kakashi, Mira and him.
"The Fourth Hokage," Naruto spoke before his eyes drifted over to Kagami. "And-"
"Impossible! The ruling Hokage is the Third Hokage." Shibi interrupted Naruto before he could say anything as he stared at Kagami.
"Maybe a time traveler?" Choza answered.
"Hmm, time travel isn't impossible but incredibly tricky if I wager he is more like a dimensional traveler." Kagami hummed. "Time Travel is incredibly dangerous since traveling back in time is terrible for one is essentially erasing one's own future. However, that is only one theory of time travel, each one more complicated and deadly for our own existence. So it is better to say he travels from a parallel world incredibly similar to our own."
Kagami then noticed that only Minato was somewhat nodding as he somewhat understood while the rest gave him blank stares. Finally, Mira just put a pin in the topic and changed it back on course. They have a task and by the sounds of it, a limited amount of time to complete it now.
"Well, let's just keep it simple and say he time traveled." Mira ignored Kagami's slightly hurt look at calling dimensional travel time travel. "So, the question is why did he travel and how does it affect our mission?"
"My mission was to track down a missing nin whose aim was to take down the five elemental nations." Naruto stated.
Minato nodded. "Great, hurry up and defeat your target and go back. The less time you spend here the better."
Kagami frowned as he guessed what was going to happen soon enough as Minato gave his three pointed Kunai to Naruto. He felt that they would be meeting Naruto soon as the blonde teen left with the queen.
"Kagami, what are you thinking?" Minato asked.
"I feel like our mission just got a whole lot tricker since our target is mostly likely a traveler like Naruto. Only he arrived much earlier than our friend here."
"You think so too." Minato clearly thought of this possibility too.

A few hours later, much to Minato and Kagami's thoughts, they indeed ran into Naruto. They learned that their target was indeed the same person. Who has raised a large number of puppets and began his plan to overthrow the queen and wade war against the five nations.
"So much for an easy mission." Kagami said as he jumped out the window.
Behind him a herd of puppets followed as he pulled out a kunai to block the attacks. Free falling from the tower, Kagami blocked the attacks the puppets shot towards him. Well until a few got through and slammed him hard into the tower side.
Spitting out air as blood trickled down his lips. Kagami cursed as his unhealed wounds were going to make this a difficult time. He just needs to defeat or keep these puppets busy until Minato and Naruto take out Mukade.
'I hope Mira and Yamato are faring better.' Kagami thought as more puppets appeared before him.
Clapping his hands together, Kagami took a deep breath as he exhaled, spewing a small stream that soon turned into a sea of fire.
"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation."
Under his attack, many puppets began to explode or burn fiercely as the missiles inside began to explode underneath the heat. However, Kagami wasn't unscathed from this either as the puppets' explosions were bigger than he thought. For he was sent flying skipping across the ground.
"Oh, come on. How many puppets does this guy have?" Kagami complained as more appeared. "Better, yet why does this guy seem to be targeting me? I'm sure Minato would be the biggest threat here."

Over by Mira, both she and Yamato were faring much better as only a few puppets were there. Many of which chased after Kagami leaving much easier manageable numbers.
"Why does it seem like he focused on Kagami?" Mira pounded aloud.
"In the future, Kagami is someone many don't dare challenge lightly." Yamato said vaguely while mentally adding to his sentence. 'You're no slouch either.'
"Really, I wonder if he became Hokage." Mira said. "Though, he would probably decline as it might interrupt his time to invent or research."
Yamato stayed silent as he decided just to pay attention to the puppets.

After running around and taking a beating as he battled the herd of apparently endless robots for half an hour. Kagami watched as they fell from the sky as their chakra strings were cut. Tired, sore and covered in new wounds, Kagami silently weeps as Minato and Naruto finally take down the mastermind.
'Oh, that cloud looks like a peach and that one looks like meat.' Kagami thought as he watched exhausted. Before someone stood above him. "Oh, is it an angel who is going to take me away?"
"It looks like you're fine." Mira grinned as she crouched down.
"Are we returning to the village?" Kagami asked.
"I wish. We were asked to return to camp and await further orders from the top." Mira sighed. "It seems that the Hokage only wanted us to gain some experience. I just guess he didn't expect the mission to turn out this way so he might retract this order in the next few days."
"Hurray." Kagami cheered.
