Chapter 14: Chapter 13 : New Recipe
2 years time skip-
Waking up from his sleep, Kai stood from his bed and walked to the windows of his room looking at the sky that was still dark with traces of yellow as a hint that morning was coming.
And looking at the street of the village some hard working villagers have already started doing their own activities.
Feeling already quite awake, Kai changed his clothes to the one he usually wears during his morning run.
Doing some stretching he finally decided to start his morning run around his neighborhood.
The backyard of his home is already quite small for him and repetitive surroundings make him quite boring.
So a year after he started doing his running task he asked his parents for permission to do it around the neighborhood.
Surprisingly he was allowed without any hitch maybe because the kids in this world are required to mature quite early so the parents are not quite strict even though he sometimes always has been pampered by his mother.
Running through the street that he usually goes to, sometimes someone is gonna greet him when he passes by.
His presence is already familiar to his neighbor to see in the morning.
After tired from his morning run he goes back to his home and greets his mother who's already in the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Sitting in his chair, Kai sees his father come to the kitchen with tired looks that are rarely seen for someone who's spent most of his free time training.
"What happened dad?"
"Kumo delegation gonna visit in a few days, and the hokage is need to make sure everything is smooth and no problem gonna arise during their visit, with konoha not in his prime every jonin need work extra hard these few days" Guy explain to his son while flooping himself on the table.
Hearing explanation from his father, Kai remembers that there's gonna be an accident with the head ninja of kumogakure which results in Neji's father gonna sacrifice himself.
But he is not quite sure if the same accident is gonna happen but for the safe measure maybe he can give a hint to his father.
"But it's not kind of a weird father, I heard that enmity between two villages is too great and for sudden peace treaty to be built out of nowhere and more of it kumo is well known in the world for breaking their promise."
Straightening himself, Gai talks to his son while holding his chin while thinking about something.
"Yes, everyone thinks that was kinda weird with the sudden peace treaty that was being built, but hokage thinks that konoha really can't afford to continue the conflict if it can be avoided"
'I guess the adult already noticed kumo is up to something' he thought, feeling stupid from his naivety, who thinks everyone is not gonna notice something as clear as that.
"Stop talking about heavy stuff on the dining table, and Kai where do you hear all of those things?"
Harumi speaks to them while bringing breakfast to the table.
"Hehehe…, I just hear it somewhere"
"Stop hearing those old men rambling, and you need to start learning your kanji"
"You are soon gonna enter the academy, tonight mother is gonna start teaching you"
"Yes mom"
A few small talk later the family start eating their breakfast
After finishing his food, Kai talked to his mother and said that he wants to go play with Choji.
Arriving at the Choji house he knocked on the door, after waiting for a few seconds it was opened by Auntie Chomi.
"Good morning auntie"
"Ohh…, Kai came inside"
Following inside the house he hears his auntie shouting Choji with a loud voice.
After waiting a few seconds with no response he was asked to wait in the living room.
He hears a rumbling sound from upstairs, after a few minutes he sees Choji come to the living room with a sleepy face.
"Kai Onii-san why come so early"
"Choji, have you forgotten about it already?, you said you wanna follow me to buy ingredients for a new potato dish that I'm gonna make."
"Hehehe…Of course not, wait a minute Onii-san"
Kai sees Choji running back upstairs, after a few minutes He's back already changing his clothes.
"Let's Go Onii-san"
Shaking his head for how enthusiastic Choji was to potato snacks, they finally go out after telling his aunt.
