Chapter 86: The Aftermath
Right now, Orochimaru was being forced to fight the shinobi that he had reanimated to fight against Konoha because that damned Uzumaki had found a flaw in the jutsu that he hadn't even known about!
He had studied the jutsu intensively so there shouldn't have been one after he modified it slightly. Yet, there had been one and it was a technicality to boot.
Weighing his options Orochimaru decided that a retreat was the best option and glanced at the four nins holding the barrier.
"Drop the barrier we're leaving!!" He shouted. The four did as they were told only to be trapped in another barrier that sprung up around them.
*BANG! BANG!! BANG!!! BANG!!!!*
The four Oto nin were all knocked out by Hashirama and Tobirama. Screaming in frustration he spun to look at Naruto with pure hatred visible on his normally calm face.
"What have you done now?!"
"Not me, her." Naruto pointed at Mito who had her hand on the ground. Complex arrays of seals were flowing out of her palm, creating the barrier that trapped Orochimaru.
Mito looked at Orochimaru as golden chains suddenly protruded from her waist. Orochimaru widened his eyes as blood suddenly flowed up of his mouth.
He started shaking as he looked down to see his heart pierced by the chains. Mito stood up as she looked at Orochimaru in the eye.
"Uzumaki Clan Hidden Jutsu, Death's Requiem: Reformation Of The Soul."
Seals quickly started to spread over Orochimaru who threw his head back and let out a near inhumane howl of pain. Outside of the barrier, the four unconscious sound nin started spasming uncontrollably.
Kimimaro widened their eyes arched as he released a loud scream, his curse seal activating and then seemingly drawing back into itself before flaking off all together. Anko was suffering the same fate in the village.
Before Orochimaru could recover from the pain a second seal spread, one that Naruto recognized easily.
'The Reverse Tetragram Sealing Jutsu. It releases four symbols from the user's own blood that then forms a large, black sphere around them. Anything caught inside the sphere's area is then drawn in and sealed within the user's corpse.' Naruto thought as he was waiting for what would happen next.
"Fitting, but it won't activate until he dies." Hiruzen whispered to himself.
"I got it!" Hashirama shouted as he performed the snake hand seal. Suddenly, large thick wood branches sprouted out from the ground and wrapped around Orochimaru tightly.
"You with the one eyed Sharingan! Follow my lead!" Tobirama shouted as he started performing a few hand seals. Kakashi noticed what kind of Jutsu Tobirama intended to perform and decided to take it up a notch.
" Raikiri." He whispered before forming a Raikiri in his hand.
"Water Style:"
"Lightning Style:"
"Water Hound!!!"
"Lightning Hound!!!"
A second later, a hound of both water and lightening was formed and rushed forward to Orochimaru. The two hounds met together in the middle and began combining.
Kakashi and Tobirama narrowed their eyes a little as they focused on carefully combining the two Jutsus together. With their skill in their nature transformation, they succeeded in creating a new giant hound.
"Combination Jutsu, Storm Release: Storm Hound!!!"
Despite having been dangerous on it's own, the water hound was charged with lightning and there was no doubt in any of the spectator's minds that it was a lethal combination.
It proved to be true as the Jutsu tore straight through the First Hokage's Wood release and violently removed everything above Orochimaru's collarbone while sending lethal levels of electricity through his body.
"What the hell!!" Hashirama shouted as Orochimaru abandoned his human body and began transforming into a monster. It was the his true form. Orochimaru's modifications have resulted in his true form becoming a giant white snake and a body composed of many smaller snakes that can attack.
This enables him to utilise Living Corpse Reincarnation to transfer his soul on a victim when the time is right. Unfortunately for him, the Reverse Tetragram Seal sucked his true form straight back into the corpse binding it there for good and preventing him from being resurrected.
Hiruzen stood over what remains of Orochimaru and burned it with a small Fire Style Jutsu. Kakashi stumbled back a few feet and landed on his ass, reactivating the seal to seal up his Sharingan.
"We were lucky. That snake was too angry to recognize that he could have just broken that down with a minor jutsu. " Jiraiya whispered to himself.
" Even if he did, she would've had more than enough time to restrain him with her chains." Naruto whispered while looking at him Mito. Their eyes met. Mito smiled at Naruto and he smiled back cheerfully at her.
The Anbu Commander appeared and knelt in front of Hiruzen. "Sir! The last of the enemy forces have either surrendered or are attempting to flee! We have already moved to cut them off! The jonins are eliminating the Oto forces as we speak!"
" As ordered the casualties among the Suna nins has been kept to a minimum and most have been taken alive and relatively unharmed and are being held by T&I as we speak! " He reported to him.
" What about Kimimaro? " Naruto asked him.
"All of the hostility in him has already been neutralized. " The Anbu Commander replied. Hiruzen nodded.
"Good. What of Suna's Jinchuriki? " Hiruzen asked. Naruto's Shadow Clone who has been carrying Gaara all that time appeared in front of the Old Hokage. Mito narrowed her eyes as she looked at the kanji for 'love' on Gaara's forehead, quickly identifying it as a seal.
'The Iron Kettle Seal, noticeably weaker than the other seals to seal Tailed Beasts, it binds Shukaku's body and chakra to the Jinchuriki while doing little to restrain it's mind.' Mito thought as she started approaching Gaara.
She smiled at Gaara who looked at her warily. "Relax, child. I'm going to help you." She muttered gently as she put her right hand above Gaara's Iron Kettle Seal. She closed her eyes and held up the half tiger seal. Adamantine Sealing Chains protruded from her waist and gently wrapped around Gaara, suppressing his chakra.
She opened her eyes and looked around her. She was now in Gaara's subconscious. It was just like a desert but it doesn't have scorching heat but instead neverending darkness, the only thing visible was the sand she was standing on.
She looked up to look at Shukaku who was growling aggressively at her. With a serious expression, she held up her right hand and stared into his giant unique eyes.
"You will harm this child no longer, Shukaku."
" What's she doing?" In the outside world, Naruto asked curiously while looking at Mito.
"Mito-chan is currently creating a better seal for him." Hashirama explained as Mito opened her eyes and looked at Gaara.
" Uzumaki Clan Fūinjutsu: Shrine Of The Desert Guardian. " She whispered before Gaara widened his eyes and started spasming. Chakra raced through Gaara's system as he felt his body getting almost lighter and less burdened.
After Gaara stopped spasming, Mito stood up and nodded to herself and released the chains holding Gaara down before holding out her hand at him. Hesitantly, the sand nin took the offered hand and felt himself being lifted from the ground.
"What...did you do? Something feels different from before..." Gaara asked after being lifted up. Mito smiled at him.
" I broke the Iron Kettle Seal put on you and Shukaku, replacing it with a much stronger seal that will allow you to sleep and not interfere with your chakra so you can use it freely without Shukaku's chakra over-powering yours."
" It should be pretty hard for you to use your own chakra now because Shukaku's was so saturated in yours. Don't worry, you'll get used to it when you train."
" You...broke...my seal..." Gaara said slowly as if Mito was an idiot.
"Yes I did. Those chains prevented the tanuki from escaping. Don't worry about it, you're fine now. You won't have to fear losing control anymore." Mito patted his shoulder reassuringly.
"If it helps, I was just like you when I was alive and still had the Kyuubi sealed in me. People fear the unknown, so I explained to them all I know about Tailed Beasts and Fūinjutsu so that it could reassure them that they are safe."
" You should too, but instead of doing what I did, show them the real you. It will take time but I assure you it will be worth it in the end." Mito advised. Gaara nodded silently.
Suddenly, Satsuki appeared in front of everyone. Tobirama looked at her and raised an eyebrow. 'Is that Izuna's descendant?' He wondered as Satsuki looked at him.
"Are you an Uchiha?" Tobirama asked her. Satsuki didn't reply but showed him her Sharingan instead.
"Lord Second, before you go I have some questions for you." Satsuki said, making Tobirama curious about what she had to say.
"I want to ask you some questions about the policies you put into place regarding the Uchiha."
" I see...."
