Chapter 6: Be The One In Charge.
"Now, just empty your mind and feel its presence. Trying to connect with your wolf sometimes can be tricky since most of them, especially newbies like you, like to be the ones to show themselves whenever they want. But you have to let yours know you are the one in charge and it is supposed to listen to you"
The Alpha directed Nicki, who listened to him carefully and is doing as she was told.
"I….I…I still don't feel anything" However, she still doubted she had a wolf. The Alpha then sighed, Nicki definitely knew when to make one lose faith, he thought they were onto something here.
"Shush, I said to keep your mouth shut and listen to my voice only and concentrate and be eager too. That's the only way to make it know you want to connect with it" He made known to Nicki to stop her from being distracted and slowly moved away from her.
After a few minutes passed and she still didn't feel anything, Nicki lost patience as a result of that.
"I still can't feel anything, can I open my eyes now?" She pouted, letting out a sigh of disappointment.
"Do that and get your two eyes plucked out, I said to concentrate" The Alpha chided Nicki who has already lost faith in herself. He got to admit, Nicki never really has been a person of faith since last night he crossed paths with her.
"Hmph" Nicki pouted, getting slightly annoyed and dispirited. Her face wasn't covered with furs as it was supposed to considering the fact the Alpha thinks she has a wolf. But instead, it was covered with a scowl.
The Alpha, knowing the kind of person she was and how her wolf would refuse to show itself since its owner wasn't confident and determined enough to make them both connect, had a thought come to his mind.
A thought Nicki wasn't going to like and so he didn't let her know since it's obvious she wouldn't agree to it.
"Remember to stay focused, let's try something new. Your wolf seems to be obstinate and you are too lazy to force it out yourself and make it listen to you. So, I guess I have to do it myself" The Alpha said, and Nicki, who didn't quite like the sound of that, quickly forced her eyes open.
Luckily enough for her, it was at the same moment she forced her eyes open that she saw the Alpha throw a punch at her. And just like before in the hall, Nicki was fast enough to stop it from reaching her face.
Her wolf in the process of trying to stop her from getting hurt showed itself like the Alpha wanted. However, Nicki hurt the Alpha's fist while trying to stop the punch from reaching her face by unintentionally digging her claws into his hand.
"Good, that's it" The Alpha smiled at the sight of what he saw, not minding the blood dripping from his hand. He was more interested in Nicki's wolf whose eyes glowed golden yellow and it snarled at him.
"Now, send her back in" The Alpha cocked a brow when Nicki didn't do as she was told. And as a smart Alpha, he was, he was quick to understand what was going on. Nicki can't control her wolf, this isn't surprising, it normally happens with newbies.
"Nicki, send her back in" He tried using words but it didn't work. "Nicki, I said, send her back in. You can do it, be the one in charge" He continued and then made a mistake by touching Nicki which got her wolf pissed and it made her scratch his arm.
It was as if she knew the wrong she did, she swiftly went back in and let Nicki back into control to take the blame. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry" Nicki was quick to apologize, realizing what she did, technically, what her wolf did.
"It's okay, I'm fine, you can leave now, I'll have someone sent to teach you more about this place. You have quite a lot to learn from here" The Alpha left Nicki and went back to his throne. She hesitated to leave but was glad the wound she gave him healed up right in front of her eyes.
At least while leaving, Nicki would be happy knowing she didn't hurt him fatally.
The Alpha watched Nicki leave and shook his head. He has to admit she might be the only one he's going to have a hard time trying to instill the fear of him in.
The way her wolf hurt him and didn't look scared even though it knew he was an Alpha wasn't something good to write home about. However, he's going to do something real quick about it, Nicki seems to have a very special kind of wolf and she doesn't even know it yet.

Nicki was walking down the same path she could recognize would lead her back to the room she was in before, but she was abruptly stopped when she got dragged into another room instead.
She struggled to set herself free, scared and having no idea where she was dragged to, Nicki instantly calmed herself down when she was released and realized it was the girl she made friends with earlier.
"Ariana?, Jeez, you scared the living f**k out of me"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that" Ariana apologized,
Nicki accepted the apology and then took time to look around the place she was in. She didn't need to panic since the place was safe and not looking like some kind of deathtrap like the hall she was in before getting taken away by the Alpha.
"So, what did he say?"
"What did who say?" Nicki seems to have forgotten about her encounter with the Alpha already and Ariana helped remind her.
"The Alpha, what did he say when he took you away? You don't look like someone who got punished, that's what I expected when he took you with him and left"
"Oh, that?" Nicki recalled what happened between her and the Alpha. It wasn't really what she wanted them to talk about however she's glad it wasn't the punishment Ariana thought that happened.
"Well, it was nothing, it was nothing related to what I actually wanted to hear from him," She said, leaving Ariana stunned for a moment.
"Wait, so you are trying to tell me you didn't get punished after defying the Alpha?" Ariana was left in disbelief.
"The last person who did that almost got banished, I guess you must be one lucky girl after all" She crossed her arms between her chest, trying to figure out what could be special about this new friend of hers.
"I guess I am" Nicki shrugged but with doubt.
Define lucky for her when she still has no idea what this place is?, where the hell was it located?, and why the people in it look like Nazis.
"Uhm, he said he will have someone sent to me so I will learn more about this place?....but there isn't anyone yet…" Nicki brought up this topic with the hope Ariana will do the honor of being the one who will show her around this place since she's still the nicest person around there.
"Oh. I would have loved to do that but you see, the rules and regulations guiding this place are strictly observed. It has always been this way so I'm sorry even though I want to show you around, I just can't…." Ariana felt bad she can't show Nicki around.
She's the only girl who has continued to be nice to her today though it is her first time here. No one cares to hang out with Ariana Gomez. If Nicki knows this too, she won't be friends with her.
That's why she's asking if it's okay to start referring to Nicki as a friend. She doesn't know if Nicki already sees her as one or not. But Ariana doesn't want to blow off the chance of getting a friend for real here for a very long time now.
"You don't have to be sorry, I understand but I'm still wondering why this place seems to be strict and the Alpha isn't" Nicki dropped the words that got Ariana staring at her like she saw a ghost.
"You don't think the Alpha is strict?"
"Yeah, he doesn't look strict to me. The encounter with him last night seemed deadly but he was nice to me in the end. I don't know why you quiver each time you bring him up" Nicki could swear she sees all the hairs on Ariana's arms stand anytime the Alpha was mentioned.
"The reason you think he's not strict is because he's being nice to you. Give him a few more days and you are not going to find him nice again. But I have to confess, you are different, I have never seen him treat a newbie the way he does you since my stay here. I wonder what kind of spell you have on him"
"People are just naturally attracted to me," Nicki said this to make Ariana stop saying silly things like she used some kind of spell on the Alpha. "I think I will wait here till someone comes to get me"
She changed the topic, moving to settle down on Ariana's bed.
"Is it okay if I stay here? Or is it against the rules too?" Nicki had to ask as she paused while trying to sit down.
"It's okay to stay here, just don't stay till ten in the night"
"I knew you were definitely going to say something like that" Nicki finally settled down on the bed.
"So tell me more about you, you only told me your name and let me know you were human" Ariana went to join her on the bed.
"Yeah. I was…and I…" It was as if the person who just knocked on the door right now knew Nicki wasn't in the mood to talk about herself with Ariana, and interrupted them.
"I will get it" Ariana went to get the door. "Nicki, they are here for you" She announced to Nicki when she opened the door and saw the people knocking.
Nicki got off the bed with a grunt, it is lovely here only when she was together with Ariana and not this other strange none smiling faces she was seeing.
"Follow us" The people who came to take her ordered in a cold voice which made Nicki know it wasn't just the Alpha or this place that was strict but the people in it too.
