Chapter 2: Banquet

[Rebirth] is a unique skill that allows players to reset their characters' levels and skills back to the beginning, while granting a significant experience multiplier and boosting the attributes.

Additionally, the characters chosen have the opportunity to get new skills from wishlist, which may fall into various categories, including common, rare, epic, legendary, and mythical.

However, the chance to obtain legendary and mythical skills is solely dependent on luck, making it an elusive and sought-after feat.

Despite its advantages, the drawbacks of using the [Rebirth] skill are quite clear and self-explanatory. The character becomes susceptible to potential threats since their levels and skills are reset to the beginning.

For instance, others may discern the character's weakened state by merely observing the aura or any mystical artifacts in their possession. Furthermore, those harboring animosity towards them might seize this opportunity to inflict harm. Consequently, the player could face [Early Endings], which are tantamount to [Death Endings].

In the game, the Rebirth skill can only be used twice.

Therefore, one must carefully consider the benefits and risks of utilizing this potent skill before putting it into action.

Sucura rose from the ground and executed a half-bow, placing his right fist over his chest.

"Your Majesty, may I humbly request to stay here for my last banquet?"

The statement caught everyone in the palace off guard, leaving them bewildered and unsure how to react.

Earlier, Sucura had seemed lifeless, as if a soul devourer were consuming him from within. Yet, his demeanor now appeared calm and composed, adding to the confusion of those present.

The King arched an eyebrow, his interest piqued, but he dismissed any further thoughts on the matter, as if Sucura's request held no significance. With a simple nod and a wave of his hand, he granted permission and signaled for the banquet to resume as usual.

The palace attendees continued with their festivities, but some couldn't help but steal glances towards Sucura, wondering about the strange request he had made.

Failing to protect the Village of Meroeda, even in the face of overwhelmingly powerful adversaries, is not considered a punishable crime for the hero.

However, despite the odds against him, a true hero would still fight to protect the village until his last breath. This unwritten code of heroism demands that the hero never surrenders or forsakes those in need, regardless of how insurmountable the task may appear.

Heroes are expected to be flawless in their duties and uphold the image of perfection that people envision for them. Any sign of weakness or failure can cause the faith of some believers in the Goddesses to plummet, and it could also damage the reputation of the kingdom.

Therefore, it is crucial for the hero to do everything in their power to protect the village and emerge victorious, even if it means sacrificing their own life in the process.

"Heh, Sucura, what's with the sudden change?" Vyn asked, a faint smirk playing at the corners of his lips.

Sucura gazed at the man standing before him.

Vyn exuded an aura of raw power, his muscular physique towering above him at an impressive height of 201 CM. He styled his jet-black hair, framing his chiseled features that accentuated his lustrous golden eyes.

As Sucura's gaze shifted from the imposing man in front of him, she noticed four women standing behind him.

One of them was Shaine, a stunning woman with short black hair and warm chocolate eyes, who had been his body's childhood friend. She exuded a sense of familiarity and comfort. Her attire comprised a silky red dress that hugged her curves in all the right places, accentuating her natural beauty and confidence.

As Sucura's looked at his body's childhood friend, a somber thought crossed his mind. He couldn't help but remember how her desire for recognition had contributed to Sucura's death during the start of Event III.

Sucura glanced at Shaine for a few fleeting seconds, a gesture that seemed to go unnoticed as she averted her gaze.

Vyn caught Sucura's eye movement and slyly turned his head to see what had caught his attention.

With a mischievous grin on his face, Vyn looked back at Sucura.

"Don't worry, I'll treat her with the utmost respect," Vyn reassured Sucura, patting his shoulder. He leaned in closer, his voice lowered to a whisper, "particularly in bed." Vyn's eyes glimmered with a dangerous intensity that only he could detect, yet Sucura remained expressionless.

Vyn raised an eyebrow, observing that his provocative comments elicited no reaction from him.

Sucura lightly grasped Vyn's shoulder and whispered, "Your fathers are all around in the outskirts, aren't they?"

In an instant, Vyn retaliated with a powerful blow to Sucura's abdomen, sending him hurtling backward. Sucura collided with a massive rock pillar that supported the palace's lofty ceiling.

*Crash!*

"Sucura!" Shaine voice filled with urgency as she sprinted towards him.

"You bastard!" Vyn seethed, his anger practically tangible, his nostrils flaring.

Those present couldn't help but be drawn towards them

"Why did that failed hero's actions provoke such anger in Vyn?" asked a man sporting a distinguished mustache.

"Has he descended into madness?" inquired a sophisticated woman, adorned in a jet-black gown and a cunning fox mask.

"He acted strangely earlier, maybe he really has gone insane," remarked another individual.

In the vicinity, murmurs and conversations arose as people discussed the recent events. Some criticized Sucura's actions, while others expressed intrigue. A few, however, remained neutral, merely observing the unfolding situation without passing judgment.

Sucura let out a pained groan and coughed up blood as he jeered to himself, 'Does he not have a sense of humor?'

'...If I remember correctly, he was born to a mother who came from a common background and had a reputation for involving herself with multiple partners. Their fateful meeting, which resulted in his conception, only occurred because the Marquis was heavily intoxicated.'

Vyn slowly approached him, but before he could do anything, four heroes emerged and positioned themselves in front of Sucura.
