Chapter 92: Surnamed Goldwolf

"Do not try to lie, or you will only confuse the child. He is far too wise," the elder wearing a Brave Fang Collar used his voice to ease the tense atmosphere, "I can be considered your ancestor, little Josiah. You may call me Grandpa Geb."

The adults present all looked at the man named Geb in shock. Lady Isis frowned a little.

"Grandpa Geb!" Jody immediately acknowledged and bowed again, showing true respect from the bottom of his heart.

Even though he was still new to this world, there was one thing he could be sure about. This ordinary-seeming grandpa gave him the most terrifying feeling he had felt since coming to this world. This man was strong! Truly Strong. To the point that Jody could sense that Sylvester and Xavier, who would typically roam his host space freely to maintain a psychic link with him, had immediately retreated into the grimoire when Jody first laid eyes on this man!

'My ancestor, huh? This man is unfathomable. Who is he really...?'

Grandpa Geb erupted in laughter once more when he saw Jody's heartfelt actions and skeptical eyes. He had just fallen in love with this young pup, "Excellent, excellent! My heaven-favored descendant, I have a gift for you. Come."

Grandpa Geb turned and vanished abruptly, Jody disappearing with him. This left the House of Trillwolf crowd absolutely speechless.

"Grandpa Geb? The Fort Master really let Josiah call him...grandpa Geb!" Abercorn was in awe as he sighed deeply, "To think he actually caught the old man's interest so quickly. It seems this young sky pup will soar in a sky much higher than our small dynasty."

"It would be great if that were true," Lady Isis' voice was like frost and carried a charm that could slow down your heart. She sashayed her perfect body past the crowd toward a particular cave surface. "However, let us not forget that he is MY son. It will not be so simple as you think."

"My lord?" At this time, Abercorn actually looked towards House Lord Osiris for direction.

"Let us head back to the hotel then," Lord Osiris had a distant look in his eyes, and no one knew what he was thinking as the group departed, following behind the lady Isis.

Meanwhile, Jody was witnessing a magical sight.

He had been standing in the middle of some kind of underground bazaar one moment when suddenly he was in a grand chamber of a most magnificent palace. This place had an outrageously abundant amount of the primary heaven and earth energies. There were various magical tools and inscription formations performing various functions, making it look like a magic tower.

Today had many twists and turns, but Jody was definitely excited.

"Welcome, Josiah Goldwolf. These are my temporary quarters. It's a bit low budget, but what can you expect in the lower wards, after all." Grandpa Geb looked genuinely bored with the environment as he shattered Jody's previous concept of fortune and wealth.

What was rich?

This guy was rich!

Jody was a bit surprised by how his grandfather addressed him as Goldwolf and not Trillwolf, but the old man apparently had no intent to dwell on the topic. Jody was smart enough to realize this Grandpa Geb must be his father's biological parent. Thus, Goldwolf is indeed their true surname.

"Summon your artifact."

Jody hesitated for half a second before sending a thought.

'Cosmo.'

A purple light shined at Jody's glabella. A massive ancient tome, covered in black and violet hieroglyphics, materialized before Jody. In the center of the front cover was a purple-gold flood dragon swallowing its own tail. This was the heavenly grimoire, the Cosmos Revolving Grimoire!

"Oh?" Grandpa Geb rubbed his beard in interest when he saw the demi-draconic ouroboros.

"Trippy."

Suddenly, on top of Jody's head appeared a spectacular-looking crown. The front of the crown was a winged uraeus, and attached to it was a royal blue cloth with golden stripes, fluttering without wind until it magically wrapped Jody's hair into a cloth braid down Jody's back.

This was the nemes headdress, Pharaoh's Law!

Jody's entire aura changed as he merged with [Pharaoh's Law], his vigorous little body unconsciously releasing draconic might, the pupils of his sapphire eyes becoming vertical.

"Hey now," Grandpa Geb's eyes brightened intensely.

From behind Grandpa Geb's head, an ape with flawless silver fur appeared out of nowhere, hanging on his shoulder.

"Your holiness..." said the ape, bowing while transmitting his voice with true essence, "Dragon soul...isn't this little boy a bit too fierce? He has two mighty Sky Wolf souls but chose to fuse with the dragon instead."

"Be still, Fu Si. This boy is our future," Grandpa Geb answered him in a whisper as if he had forgotten not to speak aloud in his excitement.

The ape Fu Si rolled his eyes at this old guy.

Grandpa Geb spoke with zest, "Complete fusion? Now that's impressive. Hmm, is this is a so-called 'grimoire'? A pity. I sense the aura of the skies from it. Had you fused with the Sky Wolf instead, wouldn't I be forced to take you as my direct disciple without a second thought? Alas."

"Perhaps it is better this way. Synchronization does have many more advantages down the line. Plus, you still have my bloodline, the bloodline of a genuine Sky Wolf. You cannot get away from that. Hmm. Only time will tell." Said Grandpa Geb to his grandson calmly.

Jody felt a mighty perception wash over him, and it felt like this profoundly intrusive gaze had wholly seen through everything he was.

"Goodness gracious! Seven-colored veins? Is this the benefit of fusing with a dragon? But wait... oh, I see. Now, this is a real tragedy! What is that fool boy of mine thinking? The only thing stopping you from entering sophomore rank is the most natural part! Connecting the spiritual meridians should take you no more than six months, yet your foolish father has already wasted three months.

"Furthermore, what a strong body you have. Although you already possess 1 BP, you're probably stronger without even using any battle force. It will be a waste if we don't get you some saint training, too!" Grandpa Geb suddenly struck his forehead as if he had just remembered something.

The ring on his hand flashed as he snap-tossed a smaller ring at Jody, who caught it reflexively.

Grandpa Geb nodded at Jody's reaction speed, "I will give you an origin force formula. It will help you in utilizing the power of origin. Take that as well as this space ring, I refined it for you myself. It can merge with your bloodline and hide on your finger, and it's one of a kind. Drip a bit of your lifeblood on it."

Jody quickly deactivated his source artifacts as fatigue washed over him. Keeping them active that long had surprisingly drained him dry. After taking a few heavy breaths, Jody recovered and pinched his skin, letting a drop of blood fall on the space ring. He immediately felt a psychic link form between the ring and his bloodline. It felt like they were connected.

Grandpa Geb was once again impressed with Jody's comprehensive skills and decisiveness.

"So this is a space ring," After Jody probed the ring with his spiritual sense, he saw twenty amethyst coins, some cool-looking stones, and a book titled Bright Star: Battle Book. With a flash, the book appeared in his hand.

Grandpa Geb's eyes shined like stars.

He didn't even need to show the boy how to use the artifact. Grandpa Geb nodded as if he had confirmed something else. Meanwhile, Jody was more concerned with the notebook in his hand, "The Bright Star: Battle Book is written in an ancient fey language, but I've never seen such a script before. How is it I can read it so easily?"

Jody was unsure why he could read the words.

"This is an origin formula, or what we call an energy guide. It is called the Bright Star: Battle Book, but I have only given you the first two stages. You will need to understand the ancestor's tongue to read it. As my descendent, you should be able to do so naturally," Grandpa Geb hid his surprise at his grandson's resolute personality and spoke seriously. "The first two stages will set a solid foundation for you. After that, you must rely on yourself to find a more suitable method. Well, I believe you can do it. It's a bit early, but today will also be the day you receive your shadow."

"My shadow?" Jody instinctively looked at his own shadow on the ground, "What do you mean by this, gramps?"

Grandpa Geb's eye twitched slightly after being labeled "gramps," but he could not feel any anger towards this kid. After all, this was truly his grandson and a most exceptional one at that.

Geb's face grew solemn as he spoke again, "Here is what I mean. Ke Si is your father's shadow. He will forever remain a vassal to your father. Today is the day you receive a vassal of your own."

Jody's eyes flashed with the light of understanding, "So what you mean is, my brothers and sisters will receive one as well? A shadow vassal?"

"Well...no, not likely. Perhaps little Kamila will, at most," Grandpa Geb scratched his nose, embarrassed. "Promise Grandpa never to repeat the things I tell you today."

"I promise." Jody had no hesitation in responding as he finally felt he would get some answers.

Geb was stunned by the quick and resolute response.

"Then it is fine. Your true surname is Goldwolf. As for your siblings, all except young Horus and Kamila, they are not my kin. They will likely not enter the family registry. One must possess a Sky Wolf bloodline to take my name and for our vassal force to pledge an oath to them.

"Likely, you will need to demonstrate the power of your Sky Wolf before you are even proven worthy in their eyes. Of course, this shouldn't be hard for the one with a grimoire. Here, take this origin gem. Holding it will provide you the mana necessary to summon your Combat Soul during that demonstration," After Grandpa Geb finished speaking and handed over the crystal blue gemstone, Jody sunk into contemplation.
