Chapter 2: Connection
A2's POV
I watch as Creed just sat there and watched the sunset. I didn't think a human would appear out of nowhere after all of this.
"Hey, mind if I join?" I asked him
He just nodded in response so I approach him and sat next to him on the edge.
"How does it feel to be an android?" he asked
"Nothing, we were made to kill, dying isn't going to stop us." I replied
"Death is a scary thing." sighed Creed
"Well, androids die on a day to day basis." I replied
"Then how are you still alive?" he asked
"If our memories are transferred back to the bunker then we can transfer the memory into a new android body." I replied
"So where's this bunker of yours?" he asked
"Destroyed." I replied
"So, now you can't revive yourself or something." said Creed
"Yea." I sighed
We sit there watching the sunset.
"How does it feel to be a human?" I asked
"I don't know how I would describe it to you." he replied
"You guys have emotions." I implied
"I guess but it's not like I can describe it." he replied, "But I need to ask, is there some sort of government?"
"Well, it was YoRHa military corp but it was destroyed, and we thought there was a council of humanity on the moon but that was just a program made by YoRHa, all that's up there is a piece of information on the humans." I replied
"What's the point of fighting in this lonely earth?" asked Creed
"We still believe that there are other android survivors out there around the world." I replied
"Then those machines, who's controlling them?" he asked
"Aliens." I replied
"Aliens huh?" said Creed
"There was an alien invasion on earth but by then humanity was already extinct, and the aliens used the machines as their pawns, but they turned against them, killed their own creators."
"So what are we doing right now?" asked Creed
"We sent a radio signal telling others from all around the world to come because we secured this place, but the machines will also most likely hear it too so we're going to take on the enemies as well."
"This is crazy." sighed Creed in disbelief
He takes out multiple things in his pocket from his vest and starts counting them.
"8 mags left." he sighed, "I think I need to go back to the factory I came out from."
He looks at me and raises an eyebrow.
"And why do the machines look like they were designed by a 2 year old?"
"Huh?"
"The machines don't look that advanced and they seem to be poorly designed." said Creed
"But they're capable of mass destruction." I replied
"Yea, I never know what it's like here."
I hear footsteps approaching from behind and looked behind me, 2b and 9s were standing there looking at us.
"Hey Creed, can I sit here?" asked 9s
He just nodded so 9s sat next to him while 2b sat next to 9s.
"How was it like back then?" asked 9s
"The city wasn't ruined like this." replied Creed, "Streets filled with people."
"How does it feel to be human?" asked 9s
"I can't describe that." replied Creed
"Then describe to me what's the best thing a human can have?" asked 9s
"The best thing." repeated Creed, "Love and peace."
"Love, peace?" asked 9s
"Love is something you cherish the most, something you value." informed Creed, "You should know what peace means."
"The war, what were you guys fighting for?" asked 2b
"Nothing." replied Creed, "Unlike this war, the war we fought didn't determine who was right, but who was left standing."
I look at him confused.
'Fighting to see who's left?'
"Every battle that took place, ended up either everyone dying or one side standing. No retreat, no surrender." continued Creed
"That's horrible." said 9s
Creed just nodded and sighed.
"I shouldn't have survived that battle." mumbled Creed
"What battle?" asked 9s
"A battle, where I fucked up." whispered Creed, "I don't want to talk about that day."
"Sorry." apologized 9s
"It's nothing for you to worry about." said Creed, "After all, I'm the last human alive."
"We don't know that." I replied
"But I thought you said humanity was extinct." replied Creed
"But you showed up." I replied, "There still may be hope."
Creed looks at me then turns and looks at the sun.
"Yea, I hope."

2b's POV
The next day
"Anemone, we found another human!"
I run out of my tent with A2 and 9s and a group of scouts were leading a female human into the camp. Anemone approaches the group and greets the woman who seemed to be dressed up exactly like Creed.
"My name is Anemone, I'm the leader of the Resistance, I hope my scouts informed you on what happened while you were asleep." said Anemone
"It's hard to believe but yes they did." sighed the female human
"Name?" asked Anemone
"Name's Avery, Avery Reyes." said the female human
"If you'll follow me we have some things to take care." said Anemone
I turn around and notice Creed bursting out of his apartment and meets the group.
"You found another human?" asked Creed
"She's right here."
Creed turns to look at her but his face immediately drops.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me." sighed Avery, "Out of every soldier that went to sleep, it had to be you."
"Captain?" was all Creed said
Avery approached Creed and punched him in the face, causing Creed to fall down.
"Whoa! What's going on?" asked 9s
I quickly jumped into the fray and pushed Avery off of Creed. The entire camp started to gather around us, trying to see what was going on.
"What the hell is going on?" asked Anemone
"Why don't you ask him." replied Avery
I looked back and Creed was just sitting there looking at the ground while 9s tried to help him.
"Cause of him, my entire company was wiped out. I ordered him to head over to HQ and ask them for reinforcements. But you never came back." growled Avery, "I was the only survivor and when I reached HQ, he was just sitting there doing nothing."
I turned to face Creed who didn't move from that position.
"Is that true?" I asked
"I was only, following orders." whispered Creed
Avery tried to lunge at Creed but Anemone and I held her back.
"Orders? Seriously, you're going to talk about orders? Why didn't you listen to my order huh? What was the benefit of you trying to hide and using the excuse of orders?" asked Avery
"I'm sorry." whispered Creed
"Don't give me that bullshit!" yelled Avery, "Tell that to everyone in my company who all died because of your cowardliness!"
Creed flinched from Avery's remarks and I saw tears swelling up in his eyes.
"Hope for humanity? We're the last two and I'm stuck with someone who can't do shit, there's no point in saving humanity, not with someone like you."
9s helps Creed get on his feet and there was a slit cut on his lip, blood coming out.
"I should have courtmartialed you." said Avery
"Maybe you should have." replied Creed
He turns and leaves with 9s so I let go of Avery who was glaring daggers at Creed.
"Umm, we'll inform you what happened." said Anemone
The camp dispersed and went back to minding their own business.
"Let's start from the beginning." said Anemone, "Before all this, earth was invaded by aliens but humanity was already extinct by that point and the aliens created machines to fight whatever was on the earth. But the machines turned against their creators and killed all the aliens. We believed that all the humans escaped to the moon and created a military organization called YoRHa which was an organization of androids created by the humans. And now here we are, YoRHa is destroyed and we are all that's left on this side."
"I see." was all Avery replied
"This doesn't bother you?" I asked
"It did, but after seeing him, I never felt even more sick." replied Avery
"We'll keep you guys separated for now." said Anemone
I left the group and entered the medic tent where A2 and 9s were checking his wound.
"How is that going to heal?" asked 9s
"Just give it some time." replied Creed
"She seemed to hate you a lot." said A2
"I was her 2nd in command." replied Creed, "But ever since I fucked up, she demoted me and used that as her advantage and beat the shit out of me that night. After that she moved me into another company and I never heard from her for a year."
"I think you guys should stay apart." I said
"Proposal for Creed, try apologizing." said Pod 153
"I tried, but to no avail." sighed Creed, "She could kill me if she wanted to."
"We'll make sure that doesn't happen." I said
Creed let out a long sigh and rubbed his forehead.
"She's going to kill me."
