(The world is mysterious) Kori thought, as the teacher was trying to teach. The things they teach us in textbooks. Is it all true? What is the true history of the planet?
Kori walks outside towards the cafeteria to get lunch. He bumps into his friend Serene. She was a little shorter than Kori and was in the same grade. She had short pink hair she dyed recently after an incident. Kori doesnt know the incident, just that it happened and people talked about it. She was probably the most joyful person he knew.
[Serene: Hey Kori, getting lunch?]
[Kori: Yeah, I felt mentally deprived all day and I showed up to school late. So, I need some food.]
[Serene: That's nice, can I join you?]
[Kori: Uh, yeah sure, I'm heading to the cafeteria right now.]
[Serene: Actually, I was wondering if we could eat outside the school, because the food here is repulsive.]
[Kori: Repulsive, huh.]
Kori didnt know what she was up to but, he was absolutely broke, and he didnt want to risk spending for more expensive food. But, she looked to innocent to decline.
[Kori: Fine, we can go. But, if we get caught, it's your fault.]
[Serene: Yes!! Thank you Kori, trust me you wont be disappointed!]
[Kori: Hey, Hey, calm down. You're making it seem like I'm your boss who just passed a project idea for you.]
They walked outside the school and towards the fast food restuarant nearby. On the way, Kori spots his sister on the sidewalk.
[Kori: Hey Nade!! Why aren't you in school!]
Nade had a surprised look on her face.
[Nade: B-Brother!?!?]
Nade turned around and started to whistle, as she tried to sneak away. Kori grabbed her arm before it was too late.
[Nade: I'm sorry Kori! I just usually go out because the food Is bad. But, why are you and Serene here.]
Kori and Serene both became flustered and looked at each other and sighed.
[Kori: Basically the same reason as you, but I'm in thr highschool. They care less if we are out to eat.]
As Kori sighed at his embarrassment for leaving school. He looked up and saw thunder clouds.
[Kori: It seems like it's about to rain-]
Kori was caught by his breathe of shock. it was hot, too hot. Kori could feel something behind him burning his skin. He turned around to where Serene was supposed to be standing and saw a huge pillar of black and purple flames reaching beyond the clouds. He couldn't see Serene, but he could hear her screams for help.
Kori was in so much shock that his body stopped working. His breathe was not catching itself right. Nade screamed at the horror. The sky started to turn a crimson red in this chaos.
[Kori: Se-... Re..]
Kori couldn't utter any words out his mouth. Flashbacks of Serene's friendliness and kindness popped up in his mind.
[Kori: SERENE!!]
All around the city pillars were popping up and the screams of people could be heard.
Kori turns around and runs straight to embrace Nade and protect her. Than fire came down on the two. Kori felt nothing. nothing from the flames. But, he could hear a voice telling him that if he wants to save his sister; he can't let go. Kori yelled, [NADE!!] she was quiet as if she felt no pain in her brothers arms. But, she slowly disappeared.
[Kade:Ko-ri.]
Kori didnt understand anything that was happening. He was surrounded by black flames, and he woke up in emptiness. There was nothing.
[Kori: Am I dead?]
[???: No, no you are not.]
Kori heard the voice of a women that was familiar but he couldn't think of who it was.
[Kori: Where am I? Where is Nade?]
[???: The lost void where all time comes to a stop. Your sister, she is alive.]
[Kori: How do I get to her?! where is she?!]
[???: You will find her one day, if you have the power to.]
[Kori: The power?! What is this crap?! What am I to you?! Life isn't as simple as light novels and manga!]
[???: Who do you think you are?]
[Kori: I am nothing, but Kori. Useless, weak, I could not save my friend, or my sister!]
[???: you have been chosen to save them and many more]
Kori's mind went blank.
[Kori and ???: I am.]
A memory from Kori's dream reminded him who he was.
[Kori: The chosen darkness, that leads to salvation. I am the chosen night.]
