Chapter 19: Chapter 19:- Fae Lord, King of North from the Winter palace
Sigh!
As the Mansion crumbled to dust, the energy dome around the Mansion also started cracking. Seeing this Laura quickly created an energy bubble around them from the seawater.
'I wonder if I will be ever able to meet him again. By the way, I never learned his real name.' William felt that the Night Lord's life was too lonely. If possible, he wanted that man to stay around and guide him. If he could receive guidance from the former Ruler of Night, Will was sure he would very fast, and within a few years, he would have the same strength or maybe even higher powers than Laura.
Just the Labyrinth crumbled to dust, Laura was about to take William back and ask him about the trails he faced inside the Labyrinth.
"Your Highness we would like to apologize for mistaking Lord William as the culprit. Lord William, I hope you can forgive these humble and lowly servants." William waved his hand and asked them to just leave. He wasn't bothered by these people. He had more important things on his mind that he wanted to discuss with the queen but couldn't in front of the people.
"Your Highness, then we shall take our leave." Along with the Labyrinth, the dead bodies also have crumbled to dust. So one by one, with heavy hearts everyone began to leave.
"Hold on to me." After William held her right hand, a mysterious force bought him and Laura out of the seawater.
Bang!
"William watch out." Just as William and Laura got out of the seawater, both of them were attacked. William couldn't see anything except the bright white light right before his eyes.
Booom!
Cough!
"William are you alright?"
William glanced at Laura to find her slightly looking pale. There was a trail of red blood coming out from the corner of her mouth. Seeing this, William felt as if a volcano has erupted. He tightly clenched his fist.
"Who is it? Show yourself?"
"Hehe!" Laura and William widened their eyes when a man stepped out of the blue portal. The portal was about 3 meters in size. As the man stepped out of the portal, the seawater under beneath started to freeze. Standing 30 meters away from the portal, William still could feel cold.
Seeing the face of the man, Laura's face turned even colder. She instantly recognized who this man was. How could she not recognize this man?
"Fae Lord?"
"What?" William was shocked. He glanced at the 7 feet tall skeleton wearing full artic color body armor. The skeleton was holding a light blue shining sword that emitted frost energy. On the top of his head, he had a crown like antlers. He did not have eyes, he instead had large artic shining orbs in his sockets.
Even though he was standing 10 meters above the seawater, the seawater still froze. His body and his sword seemed to emit a white cold mist that was making the temperature of the surroundings drop even though it was supposed to be summer.
"Fae Lord? Why did you attack us?" William couldn't hide his shock. He just met the Night Lord a few minutes ago and now he was meeting another legendary figure the Fae Lord.
Fae Lord, also known as the King from the north from the Winter palace. Fae Lord is the one who controls the winter in this part of the continent. Every Kingdom has to send the ransom to the Fae Lord year during the winter time so that the Fae Lord wouldn't make the winter harsh. If any Kingdom refused to give a ransom to the Fae Lord, during the winter time that Kingdom would suffer. The temperature would drop to the point where even the waters in houses would be frozen.
Like the other Kingdoms, the Sithen Empire also had give to ransom to the Fae Lord. The relationship between the Sithen Empire and the Fae Lord was neutral. Each year, before winter, Laura had to order a ritual to be former where thousands of magical beasts are slaughtered and offered to the Fae lord.
Even in front of the Fae Lord Laura wasn't the slightest bit afraid. Her tone was cold as ever. She wanted answers. If she had not protected William at the last second, he would have died.
"I have nothing against you. I want you to give me that young boy." The Far Lord pointed at William.
"And What if I said no?" Laura was still holding on to William as he cannot fly in the air yet. Her tone was even colder than the Fae Lord.
"Hehe! Empress are you really sure that you want to offend me? Don't you care about your Kingdom anymore?" After saying that a burst of cold energy was released from Fae Lord's body. The cold energy instantly froze 50 km of the seawater. Not just the seawater, but even the small islands, and ships within 50 km range were instantly frozen.
The animals and plants that were living under the sea water suddenly felt the temperature of the water decrease.
This was Fae Lord's way of showing the Empress the consequence of offending him. However, Laura's attitude still remained cold. Her sharp cold dagger eyes looked like she badly wanted to kill the Fae lord.
"Far Lord, why do you want William?" Laura had no intention of giving up on William. For Will, she was even ready to sacrifice her Empire. In her eyes, even the rarest object in this world wasn't valuable as William.
Instead of replying to Laura, the skeleton stared at William with its Arctic glowing eyes. "I can smell Aura of that bastard on you."
William frowned hearing the Fae Lord's words. He understood that the Fae Lord was one of those people that hated the Night Lord.
"To think that bastard would make you the Next Ruler of Night. Hahaha!" Fae Lord laughed loudly. Fate finally has given him a chance of taking revenge. The Night lord was too strong. The Fae Lord was never able to injure him in a fight. The Fae Lord has been waiting for eras. Now the time has come. Since he can't defeat the Night Lord, he will quench his thirst by killing his successor.
While Laura, after hearing Fae Lords' words was deeply shocked.
'So the two messages that I got earlier about the new ruler was actually William all this time.' Laura looked at William as if see if the news was true or not. William nodded his head and then glanced at Fae Lord.
"I never offended you in any way. So why are you after me? Why do you want my life?"
"You wouldn't even if I tell you. A mortal like you has no right to question my action. Now die." Fae Lord released a white light from the tip of his left index finger.
William unconsciously used the Black sword in his hand to protect himself from the attack. While Laura created a mana barrier using all of her powers. She knew that in front of the Fae Lord, her powers wouldn't be enough.
Bang!
The ray of light white hit the Mana barrier and instantly shattered the mana barrier like shattering thin glass. Before Laura and William could even blink, the white light ray hit the black sword that he was holding in front of him.
Crack!
William and Laura both heard two cracking sounds back to back. For them, everything happened in an instant; within a second.
A second later, Laura hurriedly glanced at William only to find him looking pale, blood gushed out of the finger size hole on his chest.
"William!!!!!!"
Cough!
William glanced at his favorite black sword which now had cracked and was broken in half. He then looked at Laura who was holding him tightly. This was the first time the Empress has shown this intense reaction. Her eyes were full of tears. There was a part of her that still looked shocked by what just happened.
[Ding! Fae Lord has broken the laws of the system by attacking a level zero being.]
[Ding! The system shall now punish the Fae Lord for breaking the law]
[Ding! The Fae Lord will now lose his authority as the Ruler of Frost.]
[Ding! The Fae Lord's levels have been taken away from him.]
William, Laura and Fae Lord himself heard the messages of the system. Laura did not care about the system's messages. She tightly held William in her arms.
The empress's hands were trembling as she couldn't even utter a single word because of the overwhelming emotions. Using her trembling hands she took out a Legend-rank healing potion and feed it to William.
"Laura...." Laura widened her eyes in horror, as her heart stopped beating for a second, and her blood ran cold seeing William close his eyes.
"Will"
[Ding! The host soul has been damaged from the spiritual attack of the Fae Lord]
[Ding! The host will lose his consciousness until his soul is recovered.]
Meanwhile, Fae Lord wanted to curse the system. But now that his powers have dropped so much, he could only grit his teeth and escape.
