Chapter 2: Plans

The next day.

Nathan looked at the date and started to think about his future plans. He knew what was going to happen in the next fifty years of time and there was no way he wasn't using that information to his advantage.

'The war of the federation will start seven years from now so I have seven years to reach the peak of Arugal. That's not too bad.'

'Right now the most important thing is to awaken my origin nodes so I can cultivate. Hmm. The easiest way to do that would be to join a military faction.'

Origin nodes were mysterious parts of the human body that lets them control the Origin Qi to cultivate. Origin Qi was something that existed everywhere in the universe, even in the illustrious Nihility realm. But for a normal human, their Origin nodes would be sealed. So, there were special methods to awaken their origin nodes. Nathan knew how to awaken the Origin nodes but all of those processes needed special tools and mythical materials. So, he needed to join a faction that had these tools to start his cultivation journey.

'Tsk. I'm just a high school graduate right now. Even if I was to join a military faction, I'll still have to work for a long time to get that opportunity. I can join a university to get that but I'll need to wait for a few years since they only give that chance in the final years.'

'If I want to awaken my origin nodes as soon as possible, there's only one choice. Asphodel!'

In Arugal, there were seven kingdoms and each kingdom had their own special forces. These forces specialized in different aspects and in Zarkos, the kingdom Nathan was on, there were four camps that specialized in fostering the elites of the elites. These four camps were: Asphodel, Tartarus, Elysium and Erebus.

For Nathan, Asphodel was the best choice. In his previous life, he was a very normal kid so he had joined a normal university but later on he bloomed to become a very strong cultivator on Arugal and he was invited to become an instructor on Asphodel. So he knew Asphodel like the back of his hand but this time he wanted to be a student and not an instructor. Only after working on Asphodel for some time did he realize how many amazing kids existed in this world and he used to think about how great it would have been if he had a chance to study there but now he had the chance to do that. So there was no way he would let this opportunity pass by.

'If I remember correctly, the entrance usually takes place in January so I have three months to get there.'

'As of right now, I'll be rejected outright without even getting a chance to appear in the entrance test.'

'Tsk.'

Right now, Nathan was just a normal high school graduate with no special aspect at all and there was no way Asphodel would accept him.

'Hmm. I'm confident in passing the entrance test but the hard part is to not get rejected outright...'

Because of the number of applicants it got every year, Asphodel's entrance was separated into two sections: The resume and the actual entrance test.

As a former instructor of the institution, Nathan knew perfectly that he would be screened out in the resume phase.

'Hmm.'

'Got it! A recommendation letter would be the best choice. If someone with authority can recommend me, then it'll be easy for me to get in there. Now I need to find someone qualified enough to recommend me. If I get the recommendation from an instructor there, that would be perfect. Hmm...'

'Right! The Hall Master of Bluebird! He should have just retired from Asphodel as of now. Hmm. If I join Bluebird and get that old geezer to recommend me, that'll be perfect. Even the other instructors would pay attention to me since I was recommended by that old man. More attention from instructors means more resources. Perfect!'

The instructors of Asphodel had to work there for a certain amount of time depending on their contracts after which they were free to leave Asphodel and do whatever they wanted to do. Bluebird was an organization that the old man established to pass time after retiring. When he worked in Asphodel, he had heard from the older instructors about the old man and later on he had worked with the old man in a few missions he had taken. So, he knew that getting the recommendation from the old man was something that would be immensely helpful to him.

'Bluebird should be pretty good for me right now. Getting back to this weak and frail body is really weird for me. I should start training this weak-ass body of mine as soon as possible.'

Nathan sat on his chair and began planning again. Training was not something he was going to neglect.

His previous life had taught him many things.

He knew....

He knew that in the vast expense of the universe, he was nothing.

Even with fifty years of knowledge and experience, he was nothing.

So, he had to give his everything when he had this massive lead to reach the frontlines.
