Chapter 7: Relics Glory Days pt. 1

During the night in Holward the stables was pretty lively compared to the inn. With Hōhei and his monsters having their own little party and test. As Hōhei had some random bird and rat Magic Beast meat acquired by Medusa. Along with some nice tasting strange banana like fruits, that were surprisingly tasty given the weird blue look. As the young man laid against the left side of Relic enjoying the rough yet fluffy fur. He was getting to know the Magic Beast more as the rest of his monsters listened in. With a chuckle Relic spoke softly through a telepathic link to their new family.

Relic: "Now now young ones lets hear my depressing old story after Hōhei eats those two handfuls of raw Magic Beast meat. I'm curious to see if these "chimera's" will help him from dying as he eats it~."

Akuma: "Hey now your interested in seeing me convulse again aren't you?"

Relic: "Maybe since I did find your convulsing figure in your mind quite funny."

Akuma: "Says the giant wolf that looked like they were having a brain orgasm from working on our exit."

With a playful chuckle Relic suddenly used two paws to kick both lumps of meat into his mouth. Gagging a bit Hōhei tried spitting them out but got his mouth covered by some monkey hands. Forced to swallow his eyes shortly dilated before he starts really convulsing and clenching his teeth. Gripping a handful of Relic's fur the young mans had his eye sparking a bit as blood vessels swelled in various places along his body. While the monster meat and DNA tore apart Hōhei's structure a strange light ran through his veins.

Relic and the other monster's smelled a mix of life and death from his body, Boric screeches loudly when a vein visibly burst. This kind of scene played on for four hours to their horror, to Hōhei it felt like forever. So if you want to become a demon god in Arifureta make sure you have something that can act like God Water. Otherwise you'll die from the monster meat ripping you apart at a genetic level to your death. If you have nothing to heal that damage. It sucks. A lot.

Once everything was over Hōhei's hair had turned partly white and his eye had become a glowing fiery orange fully. Rubbing his face he remembers the time he read about the damn mutation back in his old world. Shrugging he took out his status plate and noticed his stats didn't budge but he did gain new skills.

As he finished looking at a game window appeared with a rather simple explanation for things. Chuckling he thanked the Chimera incharge of well basically games.

『 Colony: Your family is your strength, for every member in the colony the stats of everyone increases by 4%. (Tames, Slaves, and creations included)

Silence: Your on your way to becoming like Kousuke Endou! Your every movement is now silent unless extreme force is exerted.

With a wry smile Hōhei suspects that the poor kid is right now in the woods complaining. As frankly… his stealthy is to godly for even gods. Praying to war Hōhei wishes Endou the best of luck in the future with being forgotten by everyone. Looking back at Relic who had a grin Hōhei transmutes a rock to fire from the ground hitting the cheeky monster in the head.

Akuma: "If you did that and I had nothing to save me you know I would've been ripped apart at a molecular level right?"

Relic: "Well yes as monsters were never meant to have their DNA in any other race~. But look at you your just fine and a hybrid with limitless possibilities~! This is more exciting than guarding that fat shit of a human slaver and his fucked up sons ruins for three thousand years!"

Akuma: "Okay after hearing that line I want to know what the fuck you mean. So time for a story as promised, if you say no I'm transmuting a blunt spear up your ass."

Relic gave him a scandalized look before looking contemplative. The other's and him knew the look, knew universal term, and declared it all at once.

"Horny!"

Relic scoffed but smirked at the younger members, she will certainly never be bored with them. That much she finds certain but seeing they still want a story out of her. She sighs and as if it was a bother lets out a playful whine.

Relic: "Fine fine you pushy human welp... I know tomorrow is a "Live Practice" as you humans call it yes? So I'll tell you my story up till its time for us to leave for that dungeon alright?" 'Haaa.... You poor fools you tried so hard to save the world and instead had it turned on you while so young.'

Aluma: "Before that while I have the chance I want to make something just in case so give me a few seconds."

Relic: "Oh and what would that be Hōhei?"

Akuma: "Well I have the jobs Transmuter, Tamer, and Summoner basically. The perfect set up if you ask me quite frankly, since it means I can do a lot of things. So just in case something happens I'm going to make you guys a "Tamed Library" like the creepy living chimera book on my waist."

Relic: "Ah if this succeeds then it'll be watching the old days….. Those children were truly amazing….."

Wondering what Relic meant by that Hōhei noted to listen closely to what Relic is going to tell about in her story. After he makes the book. Focusing back onto the task at hand Hōhei transmuted the ground, in the area around his feet to extract the ore he is feeling below the surface. Once the ore was up and cleaned off with a bit of transmutation he transmuted some of the straw in the stables into countless sheets of paper. Some of the straw becoming string with metallic string mixed in from made from some ore woven into it.

Once the paper and robust string were done he focused on the remaining ore. He was thinking of a design for it all. Eventually he decided to make it sealed kind of book that'll protect the pages within it so nothing bad happens to his monsters. Slowly and carefully with slow movements from his now mixed purple and crimson sparks he made the books outer shell and a clip thing that'll hook onto his belt on the back of the book. This way it'll always be on him like the other one.

Inserting the paper in the crevice where the binding will go Hōhei then gently moved the string though the metal casing of the book. Sewing with his each page into the book using transmutation. Once that was done and the paper wouldn't budge but could be turned freely he shut the book and focused on the front cover. With a small depressed chuckle he engraved slowly onto the cover an entire woodland like theme with two tombstones on it. Very very tiny wording reading Dakota Castra and Dakota Vargis were wrote on them.

Above the tombstones about twelves inches high where the words "Taming Library" in a strange language, a language that Castra had made up to talk with his people, the ones from the criminal army, it looked like a mix of cursive and Draconic from an old game Castra used to love. The Elder Scrolls it was called from what memories there were about the series.

After that was done he slowly etched out a small and deep protective groove slot between, and on both sides of the two words. While mid air three crystals were being transmuted from the ambient mana. One a lovely and calming aquamarine blue with mixes of green and gold in it, this was a manifestation of his taming skill done with a little help from the chimera's. The second one a crimson purple one representing transmutation, a gun etched into the center of it.

The other was a white gold like crystal with hints of crimson and dark purple within it, this was the manifested Summoning and Contract skill combined. As the three crystals fell upon completion Hōhei caught them using the book before setting it in his lap. Inserting the taming crystal into the far left slot, transmutation into the center slot, far right he put the summoning into it. He then sealed the grooves up completely yet the crystals shining lights still showed. He didn't really mind as it'll make people wonder whats causing it.

Sighing he was almost done with the book so he carefully transmuted the final piece of the puzzle, throughout the entire book even the paper at an atomic level. Unless you used a very strong magnifying glass to see it you'd never know there was countless interconnected magic circles and runes. As he finished it all after almost two hours. The book came to life with a hum and flashed a bit before calming down, and with a chuckle of joy Hōhei was glad. He had made it work with a bit of help and borrowed knowledge on the subject, he patted the metal book softly with a sad depressed smile. Although futile he softly whispered out to the memories of the people that now made him up while stroking around the two tombstones a bit.

Akuma: "Well Castra, Vargris.... Watch over us and help protect this book since it is going to be very important."

Relic: "You have an odd way of paying respects to the dead you know welp?"

Akuma: "Oh shut it Relic and just begin your story!"

Reloc: "Fine fine don't yell~ get cozy then everyone and listen to this old monsters story okay?"

With a small chuckle from Relic the other monsters got comfy, the egg seemingly shaking in anticipation, and Hōhei clipping the book onto his belt on the other side of his waist. Once everyone was ready for a tale from ancient times Relic started speaking slowly and calmly with a distant look.

Relic: "Around three thousand years ago while the races were warring with each other, the Demons with the help of some magic and grotesques experiments. Made us Seeker's to guard their facilities from the Humans and Demi-Humans that were much more formidable back then due their unique races and magic. I wasn't around during the first two thousand years of our creation, I was a pup born on the cold blood stained floor of an ancient abandoned military compound the Demons once owned.

My mother was an old Seeker that had her eyes gouged out by an ancient Demi-Human race called Fangral, a variant race of wolf that more focused on mass destruction rather than continuing their race mostly. She was blinded but not weak, she had killed her enemies while live birthing me. My father was already long dead by the Demons experiments to improve us.

As my mother raised me the best she could without her sight. I would come to know of the countless wars between the three major races over the years. Sadly one day my mother was eaten. She was EATEN after being beat down by a rather dangerous woman from the Demon race that had come looking for a weapon. My mother was long blinded so the woman called her defective, and killed her like an insect in the way of her path. The Demons made us thus they thought they had the right decide when we die.

Once she found me she grinned sadistically and trapped me in a cage of magic. Making sure I couldn't mentally attack her. Haaa I wish I could've killed that woman but the man she brought me back to was the current ruler of a small area in the Demon's land. That man and his entire family were rotten filth and deserved a fate worse than the one the Humans gave them. That woman though got off easy with that wretched man shattering her body like glass dust as it fell apart.

After the man had acquired me with some distaste that a older and stronger Seeker, although blinded, had been killed because his servant deemed it "Defective". That is when my hell began and when I met an interesting bunch of Humans, Demons, and Demi-Humans that tried their hardest to do something suicidal but worthy of a legend. I had met them when I had just turned four thousand years old and had my sixth pup that I cherished so much she was my little joy in those ruins I bound too. She was a bundle of hyperactive joy and love, she was just adorable.

Haa if that pig or his freak of a son that loved trying to hump everything, luckily he never could touch me, didn't bind me to their research facility. Before then dying in the eighty-something war between the races I could've had my daughter elsewhere. Sadly wishes rarely come true.

But life is cruel and I was bound to that decaying shit hole filled with undead, and ghost for years on end. Until the Human and Demon armies came along. Wanting the horrid drug that could "Strengthen" those who used it, that is if they could with stand the side effects... I honestly thought I would die that day if a group called the Liberator's hadn't appeared back then.

They had peacefully tried to stop the warring sides wanting everything those ruins held all for a fruitless fight and death. My daughter however... She had become food for the undead after some bastards broke her still fragile limbs and used her for bait..... She was only a year old and they used her like disposable item!"

When Relic started to have magic power spike up in anger with her eyes slowly narrowing at the memory of her childs remains. Hōhei stroked the side of her neck softly to calm her down and waited on her to continue when ready to begin again. The others having differing reactions to the sudden anger of a monster that's lived a very long time like Relic. After centuries of seeing and experiencing things they only get stronger bit by bit.

Relic: "Those Liberator's..... they managed to stop the fighting but by the time to approached me I had blocked out the world and only blankly stared at what used to be my daughter. I was so fixed in sorrow and rage looking at her that when.... When her spirit appeared I questioned how it was possible as Magic Beast don't have souls... But I couldn't deny the pup before me was mine and she was very upset about what had happened. Haa…. that man Laus Barn who was famed for reviving the dead couldn't help my pup but he managed a miracle with constructing a soul from her lingering feelings and such.

After saying good bye to my pup I silently attempted to leave those ruins even if it was going to kill me with that binding ripping my body to shreds. However, it seemed a few women that were more or less civilians had managed to get the main forces of their group to help me since they could see my pain. It was kind of them but I justed wanted to leave.

A group of Human, Demon, and Demi-human women, people not blindly following a god had felt pity for a monster and helped free me of my prison while giving my pup a burial. That day was the most pathetic point in my life, to have people seeking to do something essentially branding them as heretics to the world, pity me.

Ah.... Its almost time to go the sun is rising so I shall save the rest for later but, I would like to tell you of how I am currently here. Its sad to say but.... I'm here when my tenth pup should've been here instead of my old bones you know? But those merchants who you threatened they used captured Demi-Humans as meat shields to break into my current ruins and break my binding as it also bound any pups we Seeker's had.

When they grabbed my pup that was just a little over a month old..... They threatened me and tried to run away with my child. While beating it for struggling and whining, as they were more worried about making up for the profit they lost when I killed their slaves.

Ahaha..... I can't even process what I did next even now I blanked and n-next I know is my pups head pops along with fifty of those filthy adventurers and merchants. I-I murdered my pup on accident and broke down, then those bastards captured me and brought me along till they bumped into your group. When you murdered that man I felt excited and yet hallow as I was the one to actually kill my pup not them.... Even though you saw it briefly while we were in your mind I wanted to tell you just in case. After all I don't have the best track record with younger creatures even my own pups....."

Akuma: "Relic its fine just next time you have a pup I think you need to not get bound to some ruins its like a curse! But yea don't need to worry about us so much we can fight for ourselves and if it makes you feel any better there is a saying some people say."

Relic: "What would that be exactly?"

Akuma: "You can try your best to protect and shelter your children, but eventually they must go even early and though it hurts us. We must hope they are in a better place having fun and waiting for us to join them after we finally go to rest forever."

Relic: "Stupid and laughable... But thank you for the sentiment Hōhei. Shall we get ready for the dungeon early then? Or is there something you want to do before then?"

Akuma: "Well I need to groom everyone and make sure your all in your best condition so yea that's what we need to do before the dungeon. After all if you guys are healthy and at your best, then I can also do my best while being crazy!"

With a soft almost snickering chuckle Relic shakes her head at the young man, the one who actually tamed her when not even Lyutillis Haltina could. The Liberator famed for Evolution Magic could sway the ancient Beast that guards and seeks knowledge into joining them in their fight for a better world. Instead she found her self now with a young Human from another world laughing more than she has in centuries.

These tales have only just begun~
