Chapter 4: The New Guy Is Weird
Pov Vex:
It has been 1 week since I started training. 12 hours of my day were focused on the obstacle course and boy was it ruthless. The first thing you have to get through is the spinning contraption. It was relatively easy if you went slow, as I only have about 10 seconds before Wu finishes his tea. The second obstacle is some pillars i have to jump across, the third and final obstacle is a bunch of targets that i have to hit.
'What even is the point of this? It's not like memorizing how to do this obstacle course is going to help me learn . But maybe I'm wrong and this will help! Probably not. As soon as i learn im out of here, maybe under the guise of me "trying to find my family" ya that'll probably work'

Pov Jay:
'This new guy is really weird, he wakes up, eats trains for hours to finish that obstacle course then goes back to sleep, and he does it all with the same happy smile, Its kinda creepy that he doesn't do anything for fun, and here i am playing this video game while he's still out there training to make himself better to find his family, how do i know this? Well we did speak during dinner.'
Cole - "Jay!! We were just about to beat the final Level!!!" Cole's angry voice knocks me out of my stupor.
Jay - "Im sorry, i was distracted" I say with a surprised tone due to the sudden interruption of my thoughts.
Cole - "With what?" He asked while being slightly less angry.
Jay - "You know Cole the new guy is going to beat the Obstacle course before us, and he's only been here for a week, while we've been here for a little over a month, you longer!!!".
Cole - "So? Master Wu said you grow wiser with age, he's older than both of us" He stated matter of factly.
Jay - "By only 2 years, how much wiser do you think he got in that time?"
Cole - "500% wiser..." I just stare blankly at him, as if he were an idiot.
Jay - "Maybe for you definitely, not for me and besides i heard from his conversation with Master Wu last week that he had lost his memory, yet he is still going strong training everyday" i was getting slightly depressed at this point
Cole - "*sigh* i guess we should put down the game and train so we don't fall behind him" then we both put down our controllers and walk over to the training area.

Pov Master Wu:
While i was secretly listening in on the conversation going on between Cole and Jay i couldn't help but think 'it was a really good idea to start teaching this Vex, not only are the ninja going to to get a good ally, but there is an immediate effect of getting these lazy brats to actually do some training!!!' I think as I see both Cole and Jay walk out of the doors leading to the training grounds.
Master Wu - "Did you two have fun playing your game? Do you want to guess how many minutes you were playing it?" i say with a firm voice
Jay - "um... 10 minutes" Jay says while slightly squirming
Master Wu - "Wrong, you were both on there for 123 minutes, now guess how many pushups you're going to, actually no need you've probably already guessed it l. Now get down and give me 123 pushups!" I sigh as I look at the resigned faces of the two. "Maybe you should have thought of this before you played 2 hours of video games' '. They both then got down and started doing push ups.
Vex - "I think I'm ready to try again" I hear Vex say as he comes over from practicing the obstacle course, 'he's been getting better and at it and at the rate he's going at he should be able to finish by next week' I stroke my beard
Master Wu - "Ok, i guess I'd like some tea" I say and pick up my newly hot tea and start pouring, he's already running through the spinny contraption, 'We really need a name for that thing'. Anyway he got through the spinny contraption in around 4 seconds, then the pillars in 4 seconds, then the boxing machine in 5. 'You are able to do each obstacle in 3 seconds, when they've mastered the skills they'll be able to do it.'
I finished my tea before he finished the boxing machine, don't be fooled, the time for me to drink my tea is always 10 seconds, on the mark.
Vex - "Did I do it?" He asked, sweating and huffing his way over to me.
Master Wu - "No, you did it in exactly 12.98 seconds' ' I say while looking at Cole and Jay doing pushups, you could hear faint complaining coming from their mouth.
Vex - "Ahh, i was so close" he said with a frustrated look on his face, but then it morphed back the smile he had been wearing the entire time he had been here. 'I could tell that smile is just a mask to hide his real emotions, I think I could guess what those are. From what I heard of his backstory he lost his memory, his family and now he is alone trying to get stronger to maybe fill that void in his heart'. If Vex heard these thoughts of Wu he would start laughing so hard he might die.

1 Week Later
Pov Vex:
*Huff**Huff* I'm currently on the ground painting, I had just finished this obstacle course. I was a little behind Cole as he finished a couple days before me and it looks like Jay will finish soon too.
Master Wu - "Congratulations you get to take the day off". He says while stroking his beard Before he could say anymore i'm already in my room, not for sleep but to train my Elemental power.
I sit down and focus, my arm turns black with ink and I try moving it as far up my body as possible. When I get as far as I can, I revert my arm back to normal and I repeat the process. I'm currently able to get it off my chest before stopping.
'I wonder when my favorite character is going to get here, it's Zane the Ice master, why is he your favorite. Well at one time in the story he's the villain and he's also not human, but a robot, he's also the only who actually gets anything done in the ninja group, he's practically breaking his back with how hard he's carrying the ninja'.
'Well I should probably take a shower and go to sleep soon. It's getting late, but before that let's experiment with my ink a little'. I make my hand ink then stare intently at it... 'Turn into a different color' The ink stayed black, I tried for a little long but it's clear that I'm not able to do that.
'ah, imagine how cool it would be to turn my entire body ink and change the color to make me look like a different human, espionage would be so much more easier. Looking at the time it's really getting late, I get up, take a shower then flop down on my bed.
'I need to think of a last name, can't just be called Vex, and i definitely don't want to have my last life's name, something to think about, oh and how am i actually going to kill everyone on that list, it's pretty much all the current elemental masters the villains and any prominent character. That's actually very hard to come up with a plan for, but before anything i need to become rich, that'll make anything easier...' That was my last thought before I drifted to sleep.
