Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Injuries All Over
Selena's lips were red and swollen after being bitten by the man. She wiped her lips with the back of her hand and narrowed her eyes slightly.
It was then that she finally had a chance to look at him properly.
The man's hair was messy from the wind, a glint of wariness could be seen from his eyes. He looked extremely dangerous and aloof, as though he was prepared to pounce and kill at any moment. Selena had never seen such a cold-eyed person before.
The man, whose name was Jefferson Fenoli was sizing up Selena as she was to him.
His facial expression changed slightly as he was staring at her.
He didn't expect to meet her here!
However, it seemed that she didn't remember him at all.
He was forced to kiss her a while ago just to protect the both of them. If they found out who he was, it would be difficult for the both of them to escape unscathed as they might seize Selena instead of him.
Jefferson had been acting tough just now to keep them safe. Now that the danger was gone, he could no longer maintain consciousness and passed out.
Being around 1.8 meters tall, Jefferson had fallen right on top of Selena, crushing her under his weight. Selena could barely breathe with him on top of her.
Not only did he kiss her, he also tore her clothes apart.
The thought of that made her want to abandon him on the road and leave.
However, Selena just couldn't bear to leave him. After all, he had risked his life to protect her just now.

Selena sighed.
Resisting the urge to abandon him, she eventually decided to carry him back home. Although it was supposed to be a chilly night in mind-autumn, she was sweating profusely after laying him on the bed.
It wasn't long before she started to treat his wounds, quickly grabbing a first-aid kit from underneath the bed once she managed to catch her breath. Initially, she planned to tear open his blood-soaked shirt the same way he did to her, but she couldn't manage to do so with her strength. She had no choice but to cut open his shirt with a pair of scissors.
Selena took one glance at him.
The next moment, she was taken aback by what she saw.
The man had a muscular body with a buff chest and abdomen. He even had a firm six-pack and biceps that would make any man envious. His figure was definitely comparable to that of models.
However, what made Selena even more astonished was that the man had a lot of injuries and scars.
Some scars had already faded away, leaving behind the proof of the various moments that he came close to death.
Selena noticed a gunshot wound a centimeter away from his heart, dangerously close to his vitals. The bullet had pierced through his chest, leaving behind the scar of what was once a gaping wound.
She wondered who treated his gunshot wound. The doctor would need to have amazing skills to save this man from the brink of death.
She had never treated a patient with gunshot wounds, nor had she personally seen a gunshot wound before.
All this while, she had only learnt about gunshot wounds from books.
In Henderford, normal civilians were not allowed to possess any guns. Therefore, a person who was injured by bullets couldn't be a normal citizen...
Not knowing why, her hands trembled as she gently touched his gunshot wound on his chest.
