Third P.O.V.
John proceeded to the alpha's office and spotted an envelope with the royal family's seal embedded on red candlewax. He took the note and read its contents.

To all pack leaders;
In lieu of the supposed oncoming war, preparation must be made haste. As stated in the previous letter regarding the great wolf Ulrika's prophesized coming, we must be ready in case the war would not be stopped and thus the following must be executed:
- All those who have had their first shift up to 35 years old must participate in military training for 6 months excluding those with special privileges stated in the first letter. This will be held in Washington, D.C. starting from June 17, 2015 ( Wednesday ), and will be expected there on time.
- All those who have not had their first shift down to 6 years old, and all those aged 36 and above will be trained in their respective pack grounds. As such we will be sending a group of our own royal knights or other strong warriors to oversee and assist in their training and preparation. Expect them in 1-2 months' time.

Those with 'special privileges' were those who were the current and succeeding pack doctors, and witches, as well as pack alphas. Since they are needed to maintain the welfare and care of the pack to survive.
It was stated in the previous letter that "All able Alphas must pass down their title temporarily to the next heir (this meaning to give the responsibility and title of being alpha to their child if aged 18+) and together with pack Luna must report directly to the royal palace. If heir is unable to lead (meaning aged 17- ) the next in charge (First choice "pack beta/ and mate", second choice "Pack Delta/ and mate", third choice "pack Elder", and so on...) may go in their place."
(Meanwhile with the two boys who were sent to the clinic)
Devon looked at his long time best friend who was on the bed next to him and their pack caretaker who was seated on a chair in the far left corner of the room. She didn't want to stay there but the pack doctor, Dr. Alfred, had asked her to stay to look over us since he had to do something else.
"So you found out." He muttered under his breath, his voice was unsure, angry, and had a tint of embarrassment. He was angered by himself, by what he had done but was sure it was for the best.
"How did you know?" the alpha said in a louder voice but its composition was no different from the first.
"Rose... when I went up to check on her in her room I found out that she had already gone. I saw this on her bed." Hana reached into her pocket and held out a piece of paper which looked a bit crumpled.
Devon took the paper and feared what was on it. It read.

As soon as you read this paper, I have already gone far away. This may be short but Connor and Adeline, thanks for being my friend when I was like 4.
Devon... I was alright when everyone turned their backs from me since I thought that when I found my mate he would love me unconditionally. I was happy when you started treating me like a human but I was foolish to think that you would actually care. I should have known better, I'm sorry for believing in you selfishly. When you rejected me as your mate and luna, I woke up. I should have never mixed reality with fantasy.
Ms. Hana; you're the mom figure anyone could ever have. Thank you for understanding me and being the only one who cares. "Life is never perfect. But happiness is always found." Hana. You taught me this. And I understand it now. I know that I will never find happiness here in the Nix pack so I left. I will search for it, for my happiness; hopefully I will find it soon. Don't cry about my departure, I'm not yet gonna die. Think of it as me being reborn.

Devon read the paper over and over again. His wolf howling and pain erupting from his heart. Tears slipped from his eyes until he felt an immense pressure erupt from his head.
A link was cut off, a very important one. He could no longer handle the pain as he let out a scream before passing out.
Fenris, his wolf... he could no longer feel his presence.
