Chapter 7: Chapter 7
Kate sitting on the couch in her living room is on the phone with her best friend. "And I mean, she had it coming to her. Like you know, I thought he was a nice guy when we went out that one time. He wasn't so bad, after all, and then the next day he tells me he wants to marry me? Really?" Kate shakes her head. "It wasn't as though we were really serious about each other. I don't think he even really liked me. We only went out because everyone else did and I figured if I showed him how much it meant to me that he didn't care what anyone else thought - that he was important for himself too, you know. And he said 'you are right'. What an arrogant man, seriously, how could i think of falling in love with such a self centered guy." She lets out a frustrated sigh. "Oh well, maybe I'm just being too sensitive now but, oh God! He really got under my skin. I just can't believe he'd do that.""I know. Honestly I wish there was some way for us to find out who was behind this, maybe they'll go away now.""Right, maybe," she agrees. They sit quietly together on the phone for awhile, talking about inconsequential.
"Do you want to come to lunch with us tomorrow?" Sophie asks. "My mum just threatened me if you dare refuse the invitation."and she hears her friend's laugh through the phone. "Okay see you tomorrow" "Mom will prepare your favorite. See you tomorrow" She hangs up with the same exasperated sigh she'd been doing earlier.
Then Kate takes out her laptop to search for jobs, but seems like there aren't many choices. She passes her hands with light pressure over the face, the eyes and the face destroyed by fatigue. There is too much on his plate. Kate gets up, heads to the kitchen, takes out a cup and fills it with water. She intends to have tea to calm all the tension accumulated in the last few days.
In a large building, on the top floor, Jin is in his office.It is his company which, however, does not belong to just one sector, but to more than one.There are 80 floors and each one carries out its task, as if it belonged to a single body."Sir, tomorrow the woman has lunch with a friend's parents""Good, you'll check tomorrow too. And then..." Jin said but was interrupted again by Key."Excuse me sir, but after the young woman also has a job interview in a company that is our enemy."Jin frowned dark eyebrows, closing to reflect."Well then let's prepare an action against our enemies, find a diversion for which my presence may be necessary tomorrow, create havoc, but the blame must fall on them. Go now, I need to think"
And so Jin with his elbows on the desk, rests his chin on his intertwined hands.

Jin thinks with a proud and self-confident look.
Kate knocks on her best friend's door. She is holding a couple of packages which are a couple of gifts for family members. Kate has always been good at that sort of thing. She is kind of amazing with people and she knows how to make them feel welcome. She knows what words to say or how to make someone feel loved. There's something special in being able to do it that gives her an energy that lets her work her magic. People think she's very nice and helpful but they don't really see what she can do because she doesn't have the same power as a regular person. They only notice what she can do because she does all the normal stuff. It's not that it's not worth the effort and there isn't any real benefit in doing it when you're already going through so much trouble.
Sophie's mother opens the door. "Come in, please come in, sorry but Sophie is helping her father prepare food."And then closing the door behind his back he winks at her saying."It's your favourite, Sophie wants it to be perfect. And I love Italian cuisine" Kate starts giggling, and then after the jacket on the coat rack, they both head towards the kitchen, where daughter and father are having fun criticizing each other's recipes. "Your mum says that if this recipe is not perfect, I should just burn myself, Sophie"
When they enter Sophie stops cutting and asks, "Hey, Kate, I know she didn't say that. She loves my cooking. She get back to cooking and adds "I promise it'll be fine."
And she returns to focus to do it to the best of his ability. Kate and her parents laugh.
"By the way these are for you. I thought it was only right that I bring something." Kate said handing the bags to Sophie's mother. Sophie looked at Kate like she was crazy. Kate rolled her eyes and continued talking. "Well, I thought of you too Sophie, and thought that would be better to git to you here and now." She said smiling sweetly at Sophie who blushed and smiled back, still uncertain of the gifts. "Thank you, I'm sure she will like it." And her mother hugged Kate in return before leaving to tend to other kind of chores, in another room.
Sophie's father gave Kate a knowing look, and whispered " Thanks, that wasn't necessary, you are part of the family"
Meanwhile outside, in the next building, at the same height as the kitchen window, in the other, a man watches. It's Key, sent to check on Kate.
