Chapter 10: Ch10. Reunited
Looking behind at the two people walking behind him, Alex let out a sigh as they neared the cross roads leading out of Searchlight.
After having a chat/scolding Boone for acting so stupid and misunderstanding him and Carla earlier, he made an offer for them to join the settlement he was planning on building up in the mountains. Carla agreed right away and Boone after some thought as well, but first wanted to head back to Novac for some revenge of his own.
After that he sold all his unneeded equipment and bought some supplies, before heading to Kendra to debrief her on Cottonwood proper. Apparently she had also sent a squad to confirm his claim and was shocked… the look she gave Alex made him feel tense. Like a piece of candy in front of a sugar addict. He unknowingly made her job easier and after telling her about the danger in the firehouse and what the legion had planned, she all but jumped on him.
However she had to keep professional because her sister, Boone and the woman named Carla who Kendra kept her guard around were present. So instead she sent men to move the trucks out of town, hopefully sparing the town from any future plots from the Legion. However he also showed her plans for Niptons destruction, and all Legion raid camps / patrols on this side of the river. Plans she happily confiscated from him in an instant to have sent to every outpost.
Next was Alex breaking the news that he planned on leaving that day, hopefully making it to Nipton by nightfall, you ever see a grown woman bawl like a baby and latch on to a man, refusing to let him go? Yeah it made Boone amused, yet both Cassandra and Carla's eyebrows twitched at the scene.
In the end Alex had to promise to keep in touch, she gave him a radio channel he could contact her with and started to heavily drink as he left, cussing out the stupid NCR for not letting her leave.
Now here he was walking along the road in the evening, fully rested with both Boone and his wife tagging along, Carla in the end agreed to go with Craig so that she could see Jennie may get what's coming to her. Also Kendra radioed outpost Charlie and is having them send a squad to assist Boone in finding the evidence as well as keep Novac calm when they do.
Walking up to Alexs side, Boone rubbed the back of his neck and gave Alex an appreciative look. "Thanks again for talking with Carla, I know she can be stubborn and quite terrifying when mad, but I love that woman."
Alex nodded. "No problem Craig, but in the future if a plan works, don't ruin it by opening your mouth. She's gonna be pissed at you for a long ass time." Looking at Alex, Boone nodded his head. He felt guilty that his wife thought he was behind the fall of Cottonwood and told her the truth, he never expected her to lose her cool like she did.
After saying his piece, Alex and Boone both stopped talking for nearly 20 minutes until they finally came to a fork in the road. "Well Boone, looks like this is where we split up for now."
Looking at Alex, Boone let out a cheeky smile and nodded his head. "After it's done, we'll head up to the Thorne and wait for you." Confirming the place Alex mentioned back in Searchlight, Boone looked back at his wife who held her head down and twiddled her fingers.
Looking up with a resolute gleam in her eyes, Carla let out a smile that nearly blinded both Boone and Alex. "Yeah after it's done we'll be there so you better not make us wait! Else I'll be mad and take it out on Craig!" Giving Craig a death glare, the man felt a cold sweat on his spine as he turned to look at Alex. "Save me…"
Alex simply turned his head as he notice quite an intriguing cactus in the distance, truly a marvel amongst its own kind. Definitely not avoiding the trap Boone has set, Alex was not scared and he'd fight anyone who would say otherwise, except Carla, she's sca~~ahem 'pregnant'.
"I heard that Craig~~~ what? You need to be saved from your own wife? Alex…what do you think?" Looking over at the man who was looking off into the distance and sweating profusely.
Looking back at the woman who gave the term 'bombshell' a new meaning, because damn her temper was explosive. Alex made a wise and smart decision. "Oh my dearest Carla, wise and beautiful, you have a fair point! Shame on you Craig!" Yeah he was afraid.
He's starting to think that the Legion would have sent her back after a single week, this girl was damn toxic when it came to insults. After Craig saw them outside of the showers together, he misunderstood and she went absolutely haywire at the man for the second time that day. Alex learned a few new taunts and insults he was definitely going to be using in the future.
Hell even he aged by a few years listening to the poor man get run through with words, he took it like a champ though. After Carla calmed down Craig apologized and that was that, but both of them have been on eggshells since.
After shaking his head of all thoughts, Alex looked at both Craig and Carla. "Both of you sure you're going to be okay on your way back to Novac?" Both of them nodded and Craig tapped his rifle.
"Alright then, we'll adios for now then!" Turning around Alex began his journey, suddenly he felt his body being hugged from behind. Turning around he let out a chuckle. "If you wanted a hug you just had to ask you know." Opening his arms Alex returned the hug.
Craig couldn't help but mumble his thanks once again as he released Alex from a brotherly hug. Alex pat him on his shoulder before looking over at Carla. "Hey keep this brooding dork out of trouble okay?" The girl simply smiled and nodded as Craig turned and walked away embarrassed that he hugged Alex, yet happy to do it to show his gratitude.
After standing and watching the two walk always away till they disappeared into the distance, Alex let out a sigh and again turned to leave, first stop Nipton!

After a long trek through the old dry lake and a bevy of big ass ants, all the girls saw Nipton in the distance.
Ava was in a chipper mood, looking at the town ahead. The rest of her party was sweating and tired though, thankfully the new girl they added was a badass, so the ants were easy fodder for the slaughter.
Sarah Lyons came from the Capital wasteland. Her story was an uncommon yet interesting tail that left the other three girls shocked yet amazed.

Apparently, her group also fought the enclave and won, setting up a source of clean water for the Capital Wasteland in DC. However, they weren't prepared for the logistical nightmare that came with getting that water around the wasteland. To top it off the girls father who was the leader of her group died in his sleep, leaving her to take up his mantle.
Sarah didn't seem like the sit and command from a desk sort and the girls were right, she kept leading missions out into the wasteland while her fathers friend kept up all the logistics. It was one of those missions that changed the woman and turned her cold.
They had reports that water shipments to a place called Big Town were going missing with all personnel included. So Sarah and her squad, alongside her vault dweller friend from Vault 101 left to go see what was up. Apparently it was raiders according to scouts yet when they got there it was something so much worse.
They were ambushed by a large group of super mutants, after a large battle that saw half their numbers killed, the last super mutant was downed. Taking a brake from the battle and dropping her guard, Sarah hopped out of her power armor to wipe of some sweat. That's when she felt the ground tremble, and her body was suddenly pushed out of the way by her vault friend, who was then swiftly beheaded by a massive super mutant behemoths sword made from a virtibirds propeller blade.
Sarah froze as her friends head rolled towards her feet and her body slumped to the ground, tears welled up in her eyes. Thankfully two snipers with Gauss rifles put two shots right in the giant bastards eyes and right into the brain killing it before it could turn its wrath on her.
It took her a long time to work up the courage to bag the body, even more when she was standing in front of the large vault-tec vault door with the 101 welcoming her. She stood there, as Amata held her childhood friend and later girlfriends body and simply bawled, and cried, till there was only gentle sobbing.
After it was over her and her group were declared persona non grata by vault 101, Amata refused to allow any member of her group into the vault.
The next year was a blur for Sarah, she took increasingly dangerous missions out in the wasteland, always putting herself in dangers way. Many of her group wanted her to stay in their stronghold, many others said she was unfit as a leader and wanted her out. It was this such group that gave her an opportunity, fake her death and head west with her squad. Establish a connection with the old group out west and have a new leader sent back with them.
She agreed, a few weeks later she was declared dead. She set out with 12 members in her squad, she was the only one to make it out to the old groups main base. All the others died along the way, half of them to some large flying bat like beast that spit out radiation so hot it burned them to a crisp.
It was all pointless in the end, the group out west were a shadow of their former selves. When she showed up and explained what had happened out east they branded her a traitor and exiled her. All that time and sacrifice, only to be thrown away, she was angry. Yet now without a goal and unable to go back east, she just wandered from place to place, helping where she could.
Her wandering culminating in her saving Primm from a large group of NCRCF convicts that tried to attack the town. After the town gave her a room in the hotel free of charge and paid her to keep the casino safe. That's when she met Ava, Sunny and Cassidy, when they offered her a chance to leave and go on an adventure, she saw no reason to refuse.
An act of fate that would change her life for the better.

After telling the three companions about her journey to the west, all four girls finally made it to the town of Nipton. A large town with a junk wall that encompassed its entirety, mercenaries could be seen patrolling the wall with a few NCR soldiers also patrolling the town itself.
This made Cass raise her eyebrow which drew the attention of her travel buddies. "It's odd, this ain't an NCR town yet? But the soldiers are patrolling it and looking on edge!" Looking around the streets that had people walking around with their heads looking down.
"Let's head to the local bar, grab something to eat and see if we cant get someone to talk…" Having been around, Sarah new the best place to gather info was the place where inhibitions we're weakest, hence a bar. All the girls nodded and walked through the streets under the watchful gaze of the patrolling NCR soldiers.
After a few minutes they filed into a bar on the bottom floor of the old city hall building and all sat down, a minute later a young woman with short dark hair and a tight uniform came over to take the four girls orders before leaving.
All the girls kept quite and began to eavesdrop on anyone near by, all four eventually taking an interest at the two half drunk NCR soldiers sitting at the bar counter ten feet away.
"Damn lieutenant, why you in such a happy~hic~ mood today anyways?" The shorter soldier asked the tall one.
The tall one looked around in a drunken stupor before leaning over and whispering quite loudly. "Just got a report,shhhhh don't tell anyone okay? But apparently General Oliver went to Camp Golf and routed out a bunch of traitors, then had em all killed in front of the rest! Even Hanlon was charged with making and sending false reports to various outposts and now has to be sent back to the Capitol for punishment!"
The shorter man simply grunted before drinking an entire shot of vodka. "We're fucked then, legions gonna steam roll us. Our own damn leaders turned their back on us."
The second tall man shook his head rapidly. "Not exactly! Cottonwood is gone! Apparently the Reno reaper gave them the what for! Wiped out the whole lot and then some, salt the earth type s-shit! That bitch Deadsea apparently pulled all his men from Nelson and went back across the river on Legions orders out of fear! Now we got Nelson back and Cottonwood is gone!" The man took another drink before chuckling at his compatriots dumbfounded look.
"Yeah, to top it off we got all the Legions reports from Cottonwood, curtesy of the reaper! Exposed that bastard mayor here in Nipton! I can believe that the bastard was going to sell us out to a Legion raiding party. Now we need to find that Legion spy in town and make 'em talk. Also Oliver's orders are to keep and eye out, apparently the reaper is—-" suddenly turning his head, the man noticed four beautiful quite girls and smiled, unaware of their eavesdropping.
Standing up the man nudged his drunken comrade who then also notice the four girls, absolutely stunned at the silver haired girl with the largest breasts he'd ever seen.
Walking over the two men dragged some chairs and sat down, inviting themselves to the girls table. However immediately got back up when a dog started to growl at them.
"Good girl Cheyenne, you two shouldn't look at four young innocent girls with that perverted look in your eyes, also you reek of alcohol and desperation, please leave." Ava wasn't having these two hit on her and spoke with venom as she scowled at the two.
Both men suddenly stiffened when the girls gave them the leave or die look, both stood straight and stumbled to the main entrance, the tall man left quickly but the shorter one turned back and yelled at them. "You shouldn't be such prudes, you're lucky you ain't that good lookin anyways!" The man turned to leave quickly but his a brick wall instead. "Ouuuf."
Wait that's not a brick wall? Looking up at the massive mountain of a man in pure black armor with metal plates covering the right arm, intricate silver inlay dotted the arm and a bears skull was painted on the chest plate, a black face wrap hiding most of his face and black tinted NCR goggles covering his eyes, and black hood pulled over the whole thing making him look like the Grimm reaper.
"S-sorry, p-p-pardon me!" The man was shaking as he slowly moved around the man who made him feel like a mole rat in front of a deathclaw, before running out the door with a small pee stain on his trousers.
The four girls were no better, even Ava who had stood up, planning to teach that lil soldier a lesson, swiftly sat back down and lowered her head in fear. A feeling she hasn't felt in a very long time.
Sarah got chills up her spine, this man was a monster that even put her old friend to shame, his aura alone made her shake in fear, she new that even with all her experience and skill, if she made an attempt she'd be dead before she hit the floor, and if she ran, she'd simply die tired.
Sunny instinctively made sure her guns safety was on, her only thought to avoid any conflict whatsoever.
Cassidy, her pussy was soaked, her only thought was to find a way to get this man in bed, see what kind of damage his hands can really do.
Alex, smiling internally at the fact the whole bar seemed to quite down and look away when he entered, began to walk towards the bar countertop. However when he was a mere ten feet from it he heard a low whining sound and suddenly a cute female husky slowly made its way towards him with its head down and tail between its legs.
It began to rub its head against his leg and almost snuggled into him before looking up at him with a 'pet me gaze'.
Sunny felt absolute terror at seeing her Cheyenne act like that, especially towards someone who was definitely a life ending threat. She wanted to call her back but was suddenly floored alongside everyone else when the man did something that completely broke his 'death to all the living' atmosphere.
"Gahhh soooo cute~~~ who's a good girl? You are! Yeah you are! Such a pretty wittle puppers! YOUR SO FLUFFY!!" The man reached down and began to rub Cheyenne on her neck with one hand and behind her ear with the other. He knelt down and hugged her close as she barked in jubilation and wagged her tail furiously.
Suddenly the man lowered his goggles and face wrap down around his neck and pulled back his hood and gave Cheyenne a kiss on her snout. Standing back up with a smile, Sunny watched her dog whine when the man stopped petting her, looking down dejectedly when his hands left her fur.
Sarah looked at the smiling man with deep green eyes that held endless life and confidence, her heart began to rapidly beat as she noticed his smile and her cheeks felt hot.
Cassidy nearly had an orgasm.
However it was what happened next that shocked everyone, a silver haired lightning bolt shaped like a human girl suddenly shot towards the man knocking over everything in her way and tackling the man like a mad rhino, causing both of them too sprawl onto the ground.
Cheyenne seeing this barked and immediately bit Ava's suit by the ankle and tried to pull the girl off of the nice smelling man. The other three girls immediately jumped up and rushed over to pull the reckless girl off the scary yet handsome man only to stop in astonishment.
Ava was gently sobbing in the man's embrace as his hand was stroking through her long silver locks. Slowly muttering the same words over and over too herself.
"Alex, I found you."

Shadow_of_death Was planning too have the meet up in Primm instead, but there’s not a lot to do between there and Searchlight, other then Nipton. Yet the legions plan for the town failed so now I moved the event there. The next chapter and subsequent ones will see the story move quicker as Alex and co make their way up to mount Charleston ski resort.
