As Shinobu sits down on the bed beside Kenji and asks for his injuries.
He just shrugged it off by saying "Aoi said it will heal completely in 3 days and asked me to not use this hand too much."
Shinobu just hummed in response.
"Who are those 3 girls?" Kenji said while pointing towards the three girls who were peaking and looking at them.
"Why, of course ~ they are just like Aoi. They are helpers in the butterfly mansion and their names are sumi,kiyo,naho." Said Shinobu while pointing at each of them who just waved in response.
Sumi, kiyo, naho started to walk towards them excitedly. Those three said in unison "Those eyes are really pretty. Were they just like that from birth?"
All three of the girls said while looking at Kenji, specifically his eyes.
"Now you say it, I'm also curious about those eyes of your sato kun~."
"Well..they were just like this from the birth."
Kenji replied a clear white lie, as clear as author's and readers love life.
"Having different eye colour is quite unusual if I say but having sun and moon in eyes. It's just like you came out of a mythology." Shinobu said while having a thinking pose.
Kenji didn't reply and just kept looking at them. Eventually the three girls returned to their work but shinobu stayed.
"Is there something wrong, kocho san?" He asked while looking at her who just stayed silent. 'Should I ask her this? Yeah I should.'
(A/N:- if he hadn't asked her this, he would have been keeping living peacefully.)
"I wanted to ask something kocho san."
"What is it? Sato kun."
"Well, you see I have this ability to see emotions but whenever I look at you. Your smile seems fake and you look angry. Are you angry?"
Shinobu eyes widened in surprise before going back to normal. "Yes, I am angry. I am always angry sato kun."
With this she told him her story of how she lost her sister. Her hatred and anger towards demons.
Meanwhile Kenji activated his ability [Emotion sensing] and looked at her.
What he saw was horrifying. A red lake filled with worms. They all looked at him which gave him goosebumps and he immediately deactivated his ability.
'The lake might represent her anger and those worms might represent hatred and insecurities. Seriously, how can she smile? I know she was always angry after her sister's death but it's so horrifying in real life. She can smile even with that much hatred and anger. Although it's fake but what should I do? Should I comfort her? But how? Yes let's do that, mom always did it.'
He just looked at her before taking her head in his lap. (A/N:- Sexual harrasment or not?)
Shinobu looked surprised by his gesture and tried to move but wasn't able to not because of lack of strength but because of the warmth she was feeling.
"You can cry, no one will say anything. I know you need to be strong but not always. You can also show your weak side to someone you know if you are uncomfortable with me but you can cry. " Kenji said while gently petting her head.
At this moment Shinobu just wanted to get out of his lap. But she wasn't able to do so as the figure of kanae overlapped the figure of Kenji.
". . .No i can't cry not *sob*... at this... *sob* point."
Shinobu said in despair as tears started to form in her eyes.
"I. . .need to be *sob* strong. I-I-I... Uwaaah ....who am I kidding. *Sob*."
"Wahhh! I hate it. I can't do this..*Sob*...It hurts, it really hurts...*sob*.it hurt more than anything else in the world...*Sob*..I want to see her again, just once, even once would be enough. Why...why did even demon exist in the first place*sob*.. can't they all just die! Die! Die! Those ruthless creature..*Sob*..if we kill one demon, hundred more appears. I really want to give up and just live a normal life like she said but no..*sob*.. my anger wouldn't allow. What is even a normal life. Aahhh! Seriously why did that demon attacked us at that time. And why did we even became demon slayer in the first place..*sob*.. If we hadn't become demon slayer would she be still alive.Would..would *sob* Moving a boulder and meeting a cultivator my ass!.. I just want to die! Just give up! Run away from all responsibilities. *Sniff* It hurts so much. Both physically and mentally and what's even the point of living if we just die like that!"
At that point shinobu years of rage and hatred is pent out in the form of crying. She kept crying for 1 hour until she stopped crying.
'This girl is so strong. Having this much emotions inside her. Sigh we live in an unfair world.' Kenji thought while gently petting shinobu head and keeping a soft smile on his face.
After 10 more minutes Shinobu finally spoke. "I'm sorry for my emotional outburst." She said while still keeping her head on his lap.
"No it's not a problem. But I'm really fascinated and amazed that you could smile even with this anger and hatred."Kenji said while still petting her head.
Shinobu just hummed in response and asked "Are you going to become a demon slayer?"
"Yes, I want to become a demon slayer." Kenji said with an determined face.
Shinobu just hummed in response and said "Please let me stay like this for few more moments ."
"Ok"
Kenji just kept petting her head while shinobu got few notifications from system.
