Chapter 3: Don't Give Up. Slay! (Part 2)
The time had come for the students to slay the next Goblin. The environment ahead gave off a different feeling and it's misleading tendencies disrupted the students movements.
"What is up with this realm. Where am I even going," a talented student uttered, his navigational skills wavering.
The entire realm was designed to improve in difficulty with each Goblin defeated, and the further one goes in.
The group of students walked passed mysterious figures, weird items and possibly, destroyed chambers unknowingly. Not a single student had an idea about the area they headed, much less the exact coordinates of the next Goblin.
The group of talented students, ahead were not different from the others. They faced the same difficulty as others and wondered aimlessly into the void. The name it bore depicted its environment.
"Hey, anyone there?"
Students began to question, grouping themselves in the process. The tried to avoid losing the comfort and unwavering support of each other, and that was of the best.
A few minutes past, and the students were well aware of their current situation - they were stuck in an endless void with creatures roaming and no way to escape. At a point, they began to run simulations in their heads if they had exited the Shadow Realm when they had the chance.
"What a weird world this is. Only if we could glow, then we could conjure up a means of escaping this predicament," a student in the group suggested.
"You're right," another replied.
At that moment, they all began to spread their palms, at an attempt for their bodies to begin glowing. At last, their bodies shimmered like diamonds and they gave off rays that illuminated the area.
The light settled, and a straight path was sighted. They considered their choices and concluded, that it would be for the best if they chose to follow the path. The strange illumination emitted from their bodies would only last few minutes, so they all hurriedly walked through the path.
Alas, strange noises were heard, leading the students to the next Goblin.
"Finally, a next Goblin. But how are we going to pass the test anyways," the students said in relief, but were weakened by the thought of staying in the Shadow Realm forever.
"Let's slay this Goblin and get on with the test."
"Yeah, I think I'll leave after this."
"I'm not cut out for a test as strenuous as this." The students uttered, as they got fed up by the path the test was talking.
Akira took one look at the students, gave them a hard stare, sighed and finally, gave a thought to it. In his mind all he could think of about the students were,
"Fools."
"They think they can throw away all the time they spent on the test just because their tired of working?"
Akira, as we know, never got much opportunities and in the only opportunity he was able to obtain, he found himself amid contradicting beliefs. The sight was unbearable to Akira, as he was the type to have few opportunities in a lifetime.
Reality check, and the students have made their way up to the Goblin.
"Sweet, I can finally put this new skill to good use," a student spoke.
"But how will I use it?" He reiterated.
The students marched towards it, and eventually met up with the separated group of talented students. The both groups now an embodiment of power, headed to the Goblin.
They made good use of the skill and within seconds, they were faced with its death. As soon as the group began to depart from the site, an unlucky event occured - an addition of two Goblins appeared right behind them.
"What, since when did we have to fight three Goblins at a time," a student from the group spoke rhetorically.
"Listen, there's a voice," a talented student spoke.
Immediately, the embedded system voiced out,
[Warning! Level 2 enemy approaching! Be cautious]
"So, now we also have to fight level 2 Goblins?"
"Of course, the last two were level 1s."
"Yeah, didn't you hear the instructor? She said level 1 - 2 Goblins, so it has to get difficult," the students spoke, panicking.
They shifted their gazes to the two Goblins, trying to ascertain the particular Goblin which was level 2. They attempted a strike on the level 1 allowing the level 2 Goblin to strike.
"Oh, ok. That's the level 2. I lost so much HP," a student spoke.
Akira on the other hand, blended in with others, observing the two Goblins. Once he figured out the level 2 Goblin, he walked up to it and shouted,
"Destroy!"
Nothing happened excluding the excruciating pain he received from the immensely powerful strike from the level 2 Goblin.
[Invalid Command! The skill "Destroy" isn't a word utterance]
"Why'd you do that?" Other students spoke, questioning Akira's foolish attempts of destroying the Goblin.
Without hesitation, Akira proceeded to strike a blow on the Goblin. His continuous strikes were immaculate, with exact accuracy. His mind was fixated on the Goblin he was dealing damage. Nothing but a single thought roamed about in his mind,
"Just 'cause I've got no talents doesn't mean I haven't been training for the past years of my life!"
He continued striking it until, finally it fell dead on the floor. It's height increase compared to a level 1 Goblin was unbelievable, next to it's physique which was unimaginable.
"If that is a level 2 Goblin, how will higher ranking Goblins be?" A talented student said, landing the final blow on the level 1 Goblin.
"Wow, you did a good job killing that level 2 Goblin. So, what talent do you have?" Another talented student asked.
Akira stared back at the student, and his emotions flickered as he answered,
"None. I have none."
"Wait you have no.." the talented student replied before being interjected by the system,
[Objective unlocked]
[Objective: Kill 45 Goblins to complete the test]
[Goblin head count: 4]
