Chapter 4: Chapter 4: An Elegy of Revenge and Misery

The spring breeze never failed to amaze me with the sweet and enticing scent of the magnolia woods it brought. The violin sang into our hearts content; whilst it brilliantly played in tune. As you held the bow to the violin, passion and grace was attached to your gallant features.

Ending your song with a beautiful tempo, you bowed to your audience, descending from the great stage you stood from. The suit you wore crinkled when you stretched your arms to relieve your muscles. Immediately trying to go straight to me, you were abruptly halted by the audience to ask for your hand.

"He's grown quite well, hasn't he? Granger's a teen now, ain't he?" Clint suddenly appeared beside me. Gazing at your younger figure was all I could do as you surrounded yourself with the crowd.

"And you got yourself married to Miss Layla two years ago, didn't ya," I laughed at Clint as his 27 year old face blushed.

In a moment, it felt like time was being kind. Ever since I turned fifteen, I worked at a tavern as a bartender and earn a good pay. While working to support you, I saw you grow up as a young man, likewise I am about to turn into an adult in three years.

Three years seemed like an eternity.

I look back at you, our eyes met- nonetheless your eyes was filled with glee and bashfulness with the crowd surrounding you; however, the peace that your very own music brought disappeared in a mere glimpse and was replaced with bloodthirst and revenge.

The forest that the man, Alucard, said to have orcs and demons inhabited in it, suddenly became restless as children suddenly disappeared one by one. Once you heard about it, you immediately sprung into action and took the gun you hid as I tried stopping you from you brash actions.

"But I can't let anyone lose their family when I could've help them!" you shouted at me when I blocked your path.

"It's still a no. What if you lose your life? What if you aggregate them more than what they're now? I simply won't allow that!" I reply what I could think of at that time.

"So you'll let those children die? What do even you know? You were alone since the beggining, you never knew what happened to nor who your parents are, Claude! You're just a cowardly dunce!" You retorted, alas I was startled at you shouting my name.

Running off to the woods, you left me standing- watching you trail off and disappear from my vision. Following you soon after and shouting your name, I heard gunshots that was too familiar.

It was from your gun.

Arriving at the destination you are in, I didn't knew what to say nor to feel. When the blood of the beings you despised colored the greens of the trees and meadows, your hands were tainted with despair and wrath. I saw how you sneered at their befallen and disgusting bodies that you had brought it to become.

You chuckled, the sound created a slight lump in my throat. Why was I scared of my own brother?

"So as I wonder…which if you caused this grief and distress of mine whence I was young? Which of you took each of the breaths of my own very own parents you killed?" A crooked grin appeared on your face as you buckled the gun and shot at every face of the orcs and demons before him.

"How do you like this? To feel the position my parents you killed?" The once pure and unblemished clothes you wore was now sullied with reds and browns of the beings you swore as enemies.

You feigned innocence when you heard and painful grunts of each entities, yet you can't help but stare at their pitiful dispositions. Laughing meekly, you kicked their bodice as you left the forest.

You never found the children lost in the woods.

"You shouldn't have done that," I told you weakly as I revealed myself before you. Blood dripped from your clothes as I wasn't able to recognize the stench between your own blood and the blood of the lives you took.

"Huh, you followed me? I thought that you were scared to trail to where I have gone to, I guess you still have even a bit of your guts," you insulted me passively as I glared at you.

The change of your attitude didn't went unnoticed, as I took the bloody gun from your hands and threw it into the bushes.

"They deserved it."

"And why? Is it because you hate them? They killed your parents? Granger, they are dead! You should've move in for the past twelve years, heck, maybe the ones that killed your parents are dead!" I scolded you as I can't help but let some curses out of my mouth.

Not listening to what I said, you passed by me and left to return to the orphanage. When I had returned and reported what happened in the forest to the officials, I was wondering of how they never knew such thing. Had they become incompetent?

Entering our shared room, I saw you sleeping soundlessly. The very first thing I noticed was your injured, clothed arm and your bandaged left hand.

It was the hand that you used to hold the chords of the violin.
