They found shelter in a mall kilometers away from the university. The huge area of the university was completely devastated, and they only became safe by running too far away from the chaos. They could only watch what was happening in the scene with Diana's artifact. It was a tool from the temple that Diana could use to watch over a specific place. And in that tool, they watched Nida and Daniel get defeated.

Although Diana doesn't want her brother to get hurt or die since they just reunited, she doesn't actually have the power to fight back the elves.
