Chapter 45: "Go to sleep"

"NanNan, Won't you join us for more meals in the future? I'd like to get to know you better," Olivia asked.

"I agree with my wife," Adarian said as he smiled at Olivia. He treasured his familial bond with NanNan.

NanNan had no choice but to agree, she would join them for meals sometimes. "Only sometimes," NanNan chided. "You are still in your newlywed phase and need more time alone together."

"Alright," Olivia smiled at NanNan. Then she looked at Adarian. "Thank you for agreeing with me. I should have spoken to you first instead of just saying what I wanted."

"No," Adarian said to her dotingly. "I like it when you say what you want."

"But then you just agree with me!" Olivia scolded him. "You just agree with me even if I'm wrong. You can't do that anymore."

"I disagree," Adarian said. He grinned at her cheekily. "See, I'm learning already."

Olivia rolled her eyes, "What am I going to do with you?"

NanNan was surprised. Olivia was the one who wanted her to join them for meals? This wasn't what she thought a noble lady would act like at all. Even though she had decided that Olivia was nothing like the rumors surrounding her, she still thought Olivia would act like all the other young noble ladies.

What made Olivia so different? Sometimes this child dropped all formalities.

After lunch they were able to settle down and choose the dress designs for the ball in two weeks, the wedding dress, the reception dress, and the Inauguration dress which would mark the beginning of her reign as queen.

As they chose the designs Olivia had become comfortable around Adarian again without being super shy at him holding her hands.

NanNan looked happily at the couple. It looked like Olivia was really seeing Adarian in a romantic light. The air around them felt very pink and fuzzy as they practically sat on top of each other to look at the designs Mr. Lunceford Elrick had made.

That night Olivia had a great time explaining Anime to Adarian. Elrick. It would have been worse if his name had been Edward, Al or Hoenheim. It was in the back of her mind all day, but no one would have understood if she just punched her own palm and pretended it took the shape of a blade.

She began to tell Adarian the story of FMA. He was genuinely interested and wanted to ask her a ton of questions as she told him the story. She finally told him to shut up and let her tell the story or she would tie his mouth shut.

Shocked at her proposal, he let her finish the story.

And then she said, "That should be a good place to stop for now. Goodnight hubby."

When she lay down to sleep. He looked at her frustrated, "But you didn't tell me what happened to Tucker yet. Did he create a speaking Chimera? And what is the mysterious scar man planning? "

"Nope, not telling anymore tonight," Olivia said stubbornly. She didn't want his mood to drop during this part of the story. No one liked this part of the story. "Go to sleep."

"Wifey…" Adarian pouted. "But you didn't say what happened."

"It's called a cliffhanger for a reason," Olivia said. "I won't finish because I said I won't. I can finish telling you the next part of it tomorrow."

"How many parts are there?" Olivia should have never opened her mouth. She just wanted someone to get her reference. Did she just create a fanboy?

Olivia and Adarian woke up later than usual. Olivia slightly panicked as she sat up in bed. She was going to be late for her lessons!

Adarian reached over and pulled her down next to him. They didn't use the pillow border between themselves last night.

"Go to sleep" he told her.

Olivia started to explain, "But my lessons for today-"

Adarian interrupted, "-Are canceled. It's a day off for the both of us."

She turned in his arms to look at his face. She was grateful to be in such a healthy body. Her heart started pounding as she looked at him. He was really too good looking. Her eyes traveled from his hair down to his closed eyes. His eyelashes were so long and thick. It wasn't fair. There were so many mascara companies that would kill to get an actress with eyelashes like his.

When her eyes finally traveled down to his lips she subconsciously thought about that kiss. Blushing she hid further into his arms.

Adarian opened his eyes as he felt Olivia bury her face in his chest. He smiled as he looked at the top of her head. Was she trying to seduce him this morning? "What are you doing?" he asked her.

"Nothing," came Olivia's muffled voice.

"I see," he said as he held her a little tighter to himself. He could tell she was embarrassed about something. So he let her hide a little longer.

After a while there was a knock on the door.

"Your majesty," a timid voice came from outside. "I'm here to empty the toilet."

"Come in," Adarian called from the bed.

As the maid opened the door, Olivia finally stirred form Adarian's arms.

"Wait…" Olivia said too late to Adarian. She didn't want anyone to see her like this! This was way too much! She knew they hadn't done anything yet, but this position… Didn't it seem like they had done something?

Adarian also realized that it looked like they had tried to get an heir last night. He wanted to show off the closeness he had with his wife.

The maid however knew her place. She greeted the royal couple with her head down and went directly to her task.

Olivia watched as the girl disappeared into the indoor porta potty with a clay bucket looking thing. The girl stayed in there for a while before coming out. With a different colored bucket looking thing.

How had she never thought of the poor souls who had to clean the porta potty! She didn't like them because she missed indoor plumbing! But now that she thought of it of course someone cleaned them! Someone cleaned them every day! If they didn't this castle would literally smell like sh*t.

She knew she could never do this job. She was way too pampered by modern conveniences. Whoever wrote this story was an idiot. Lights that were basically electric, hot and cold running water for bathing, but no indoor toilets?

Olivia sat up and looked at the utterly gorgeous man who was still trying to hold onto her.

"We need to talk about this plumbing issue."

Adarian stood at his desk watching Olivia Carter drawing up a new toilet system with indoor plumbing pipes that would lead to a sewer. She mentioned a sewage plant at one point, and continued on with her new project.

Wasn't today their day off?

Adarian didn't want Olivia to burn out, and she had been working so hard trying to learn everything so quickly. He wanted her to take a breather. After today she would be way too busy until the announcement. There really wasn't too much time left.

Adarian took the day off with her. Today they would be able to walk the gardens again, and perhaps he could learn her favorite flower. He decided he would ask a personal question in the diary along with a question about her knowledge. Maybe this would help him get to know his bride better.

But no. Olivia just had to find something else to work on this morning.
