Chapter 15: Beginning After the End
"Wa~ah..."
It's been three days since the death of Dick and the townspeople are giving extensive care to Sou as the one who ended Dick's oppression. At first, Sou was reluctant to even listen to anything the townspeople and was about to leave the Krion. But the people were stubborn as hell. They dragged Sou around in staying for two days and he didn't mind exactly as he was also tired from all the things he had to go through. Sou looked at them with suspicion every time someone approached him, but after the days he spent, he seemed to let go of his suspicion a bit, but still not enough to completely let his guard down.
"Young Master, I see that you've awoken. Should I leave the breakfast here?" A lady who appeared to be in her thirties asked Sou who was still lying in his bed politely.
"Ah, yes, please," Sou answered back.
She did as she was told and quietly exited the room.
(I am still not used to being called Young Master.)
Sou placed his hand on his forehead and recalled the past two days. The past two have been nostalgic while being rough for Sou. Nostalgic because he was reminded again of the beliefs he held in his previous life which ultimately led to him being disappointed with himself, and rough because the whole town of Krion mistook him as a child from an important noble household. Every time he went to the streets, all he could hear was 'Young Master, Young Master'. Noble children were a lot more powerful than others because of the professional guidance they receive and seeing Sou's deeds, they convinced themselves that he had a noble background.
Sou got up from his bed and made his way to the bathroom.
(And here I thought that everything in this world will be from the medieval age.)
The foundation and architecture of Melim's structures were quite advanced, not as advanced as Earth though. Now here's how it goes, a guy gets transported to another world only to find medieval class buildings which makes it a pain in the ass for the guy to adjust to the new lifestyle, but Sou got lucky. Everything around Sou- from the shower to the door- was something that he was familiar with which made it easier for him to get things right.
<What are you going to do now Master?>
Grey suddenly asked inside Sou's head.
"Wah! For God's sake! I am taking a shower here, Mary!" Sou quickly covered his immature little brother and yelled.
<I figured that I should accustom myself to this kind of sight since I will be bound to Master forever. And please call me Grey.>
"Why should I? Your name is Mary, right?"
<Mary has died along with May.>
"Haa... and I have resurrected them. C'mon! This is already the third day!"
<...>
"And as for your question, I am still not sure what I should do. I will figure something out later."
Sou finished his work in the shower and got out of the bathroom in freshly changed clothes given by the innkeeper of the inn he is staying in.
(These clothes are a lot more comfortable than the previous ones...)
"Let's get over with the breakfast."
He pulled the chair from the table beside his bed and sat on it and started to gorge on the food laid in front of him. While eating, he opened his stats to take a look.

Mary jumped out of Sou's shadow and bowed before him.
"Examine."
Thousands of mana streams were spread across Mary's body as veinlets stretched across a leaf reflected upon Sou's enlarged pupils. The mana flowed through her veins without any interruptions like a free river. There was one prominent stream that started from her heart and spread throughout her body. The others were branching from them to ensure the circulation of mana to every part of her body.
(Amazing... Wait, does that mean I can see the locations of veins?)
To prove his theory right, Sou decided to do something professional assassins and martial artists did.
"Mary, tell me if it hurts."
Sou stretched his arm to reach for her elbow and then pressed a specific mana stream which he had targetted using Examine.
"Kya!"
"..."
"..."
An awkward silence.
(...kya?)
Mary quickly withdrew her from Sou's grasp and covered her face in embarrassment. Seeing Mary's cute tactics, Sou let out a chuckle which made Mary dig her face deeper in her hands.
"Haha... don't let it get to you. You are a girl after all."
"I-I am sorry that you had to see this disgraceful sight."
She instantly disappeared into Sou's shadows after saying her part.
(What a clumsy girl...)
Sou stood still with his hands crossed and his head hanging downwards.
(So my theory was right. Mana flows through the veins as they cover every part of our, ensuring the mana circulation. I have to try Mana's Authority next time.)
Sou stretched a bit before exiting his room.

"Ah! Young Master! Good morning!" the innkeeper greeted Sou.
"Good morning, Miss Rebecca," Sou replied to the innkeeper's greeting.
"Again going out Young Master?"
"I have told you numerous times that I am not a noble, so please stop calling me 'Young Master' and call me Sou." Sou retorted to Rebecca's continuous 'Young Master's.
"Aww... don't be modest, Young Master! I know that you want to hide your identity, but everyone in the town has already caught wind of Young Master's identity. There is no point in hiding it anymore."
The lady showed a beaming smile to Sou and got engrossed with her work.
(This is annoying!)
"And yes! I am going to leave this town today. Here is the payment for the days I have spent here." Sou slammed 8 silver coins on the reception and was about to take his leave when he heard a loud screech from behind him.
(That Dick really had some fortune.)
"!!!"
Sou turned around quickly to face the screech. He found a kid younger than him staring daggers at him.
"Noooo!!! Brudher will not go! Brudher stay!"
The kid advanced towards Sou and wrapped him up in his arms.
"Bruher!!!" the kid dug his into Sou's body and let out a muffled scream.
The corner of Sou's lips raised a little and his arched brows relaxed, forming a very kind and warming face. Sou placed his hand on the kid's right cheek and raised his face a little to take a better look.
"Kevin, strong kids don't cry, and I know that Kevin is strong, so don't cry."
"B... but... brudher..."
"Brother has some work to do and has to leave right away. But don't worry, brother will be back again."
"P-Promise?" Kevin held out his pinky finger.
"Hehe... promise." Sou also held out his pinky finger and promised little Kevin.
"And Kevin, it is bad manners to send people with a crying face. You put up a smiling and happy face and send them off with a 'take care!'." Sou ran his fingers softly through Kevin's tearing eyes.
Kevin looked up and stared deep into Sou's golden eyes for a while. Suddenly, he unwrapped his arms and started to frantically clean the tears off his eyes. He looked up to Sou who was still awestruck at Kevin's actions. Kevin's lips made a huge grin and his eyes brimmed in childhood innocence.
"Take care, brudher!"
Sou broke into a smile and he ran up to embrace him tightly before his departure. While embracing, Sou whispered in his ears.
"I will."
Rebecca was seeing the two boys by the sidelines and tearing up at both their actions.
"Take care, Sou."
Sou rolled his eyes towards Rebecca and smirked.
"Sure."
Sou departed from the inn and made his way to the town's entrance.
(Yeah... I've got to get stronger. At least to start something new.)
<So what is your decision Master?>
"We are going to get a lot stronger."
<If that's the case Master, I know something we can do.>
"But before that… I want to do something."
<Hm? What?>
Sou turned around and took a long look at the town bustling with children's laughter and adults' gossip.
"Yeah, I really want to do this. Sub-space."
The purple crack showed up beside Sou and he pulled out the sword and dagger he used three days ago.
"Yes… I can't sleep at night if I don't do this."
The ominous fire engulfed the sword in his left hand and the ferocious lightning crackled showed its presence on the dagger in his right hand.
"Internal Mana Circulation."
The Lightning mana inside him raged and cried, pushing his adrenaline to the furthest.
"Kekeke… I really want to kill these people."
This was Sou's beginning after the end.
