Chapter 2: 1

The royal children took a different route and were walking back towards the castle when they saw a big boulder shaped like a head. It seemed out of place since one half of the big head is swallowed by the hill where a big willow tree is perched. This was the very first time that they've been into this part of the castle. No one is ever allowed to pass here except the Mother. But today they were taking lessons from the Mother and she brought them there.

"I think I've seen that face before.", Naoli, the eldest among them, stated. "His face looks really familiar. It's probably in one of those history books in the Royal Library."

"You've got good eyes and a good memory, Naoli. No wonder the king favors you.", the calm and cold voice of the Mother praised Naoli.

The king and queen of the kingdom have 4 successors to the throne. Naoli was the eldest. She was good at everything that she did. She showed perfection and excellence fit to be the successor to the throne. Thus, the king loves her so.

The second child was Nikol. He was a mischievous but loving child. The queen showers him great affection and love. He's excellent at horse riding and archery but fails when it comes to sword fighting.

Nesman, the third child, only wanted to fight and go to any war someday. He showed splendid and unsurpassed swordsmanship. At a young age of 8, he was able to master a sword.

Neri was the youngest among the royal children. A sweet and innocent child, they say. But there's much more to it than meets the eye. The Mother took an interest in her and trained her personally. Of what, is unknown to people.

"Our session is over for now so all of us should head back to the castle now. Tomorrow, I will tell you more.", the Mother spoke and they all continued to walk towards the castle.

The Mother was no ordinary mother. She was the mother of the castle. Everything belonged to her. She holds so much power. Power bigger than the king and queen combined. She was respected by everyone in the castle. Commoners may have never heard of her since she does not meddle with how the Royal Family rules the kingdom. She had been in the castle all her life, observing and giving lessons to royalties. No one was to speak ill of her. She was the very foundation of the kingdom.
