The Fishmen and Mermaids suffered greatly until Whitebeard arrived, declaring Fishman Island as his territory, putting an end to the rampant exploitation.
However, with the Summit War of Marineford underway, various forces, anticipating Whitebeard's demise, sought to claim Fishman Island as their own territory. Among them, Big Mom, one of the Four Emperors, sent Charlotte Katakuri to assert control over the island.
Just days ago, Katakuri arrived, defeating all guards at the Ryugu Palace. Despite Jinbei's valiant efforts in a fierce battle against Katakuri, he was defeated and injured. Jinbei, as the strongest defender of the Fishman Island, falling meant that the island was vulnerable to takeover.
Interestingly, despite claiming victory, Katakuri chose to evacuate. Four days prior, he received news that Whitebeard emerged victorious in the Summit War, rescuing Ace. Urged to leave immediately, Katakuri prepared to depart. During his departure, he crossed paths with Jinbei, leading to a fierce clash.
Despite being one of the renowned Sweet Commanders, Katakuri faced a formidable opponent in Jinbei, a former member of the Shichibukai. The intense battle took its toll on Katakuri's crew, resulting in injuries and damage to their ship.
"Brother Katakuri, are we really leaving?" his brother questioned.
After defeating Jinbei and securing control over Fishman Island, Katakuri decided to temporarily return to Whole Cake Island, much to his little brother's reluctance.
"Whitebeard is still alive, and the Fishman Island is no longer our concern!" Katakuri stated sharply, understanding the significance of Whitebeard's continued presence in the New World.
As the Fishman Island faced the dilemma of leaving to avoid provoking the Whitebeard Pirates, an unexpected turn of events unfolded. The sky dimmed, signaling the arrival of an enormous fleet emerging from the depths of the distant ocean. Over forty colossal ships, bearing the familiar crossed bones flag with a crescent-bearded skeleton in the middle, approached.
The crew initially thought it was the Fishman Island's massive fleet, but the revelation struck them with horror. The crew member's scream echoed as they recognized the flag – it was the Whitebeard Pirates. Panic and shock gripped the crew as they realized the implications of the approaching fleet.
"Is the Whitebeard Pirates really here with such a massive fleet?" one crew member questioned, disbelief written across their faces. Another crew member pointed out the Moby Dick at the center of the fleet, intensifying the fear among the crew.
Katakuri, usually calm and composed, displayed a fierce gaze as he looked up and witnessed the fleet covering the sky of Fishman Island. The arrival of Whitebeard's fleet, with the Moby Dick leading the way, created a sense of awe and terror. The Moby Dick, after crashing through the Bubble of the Fishman Island, landed on the shores with a resounding boom.
"Whitebeard himself has arrived?" Katakuri exclaimed, his fierce gaze reflecting the gravity of the situation. The crew members, whether from the Big Mom Pirates or not, were now confronted with the overwhelming presence of the strongest man in the world and the top-ranked Emperor among the Four Emperors. The shock of Whitebeard's arrival echoed through the Fishman Island, leaving the crew to grapple with the unexpected turn of events and the formidable presence that now stood before them.
Katakuri's eyes narrowed, and beads of cold sweat trickled down his forehead. After being held back by Jinbei for several days, Katakuri had a feeling that he might come face-to-face with the fleet captains or even the commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He was prepared for battle against these individuals. However, what he didn't even think about was that Whitebeard himself would come in person!
Recalling Whitebeard's terrifying reputation and the title of the world's strongest man, no matter how confident Katakuri was, he couldn't help but feel nervous.
Tread! Tread! Tread!
At this moment, a steady footstep echoed. The footsteps were faint, but they roared like thunder in Katakuri's ears because he heard them clearly. The footsteps came from the Moby Dick!
"He's coming!"
Katakuri's eyes widened as he gazed fiercely at the bow of the Moby Dick.
Tread! Tread! Tread!
The sound of footsteps grew louder and closer with each passing moment. With all eyes fixed on him, a towering figure emerged, clad in a long coat and brandishing a massive Naginata. Sporting a distinctive crescent-shaped mustache, he stood before them, commanding attention.
BOOM!
Whitebeard stood tall on the ship's bow and forcefully slammed his naginata onto the deck. When he looked up, Whitebeard's piercing gaze swept across the Big Mom Pirates before fixing on Katakuri, who stood at the forefront.
A resounding laughter filled the air, echoing throughout The Fishman Island.
"Guurarara~"
"Kid from Charlotte's family, Linlin sent you here, thinking she can take Fishman Island as her own territory?"
"Are you prepared to be my enemy?!"
