Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Garp
After a little while longer Zoro and Usopp finally were allowed to stand again. The moment Zoro was free he leaped at Kai and started a dust brawl. Only for it to end with Kai walking out of it without a scratch and Zoro disappearing. Kai looked around. "How does he even do that?" He asked as he had no clue where Zoro went or how he got there even with his kenbunhsoku haki. It was a miracle really.
Kai just decided to stop questioning it. It must be one of the laws of this world. You have space, time, and Zoro getting lost. The three laws of the universe. Kai nodded sagely, he felt like Einstein as he discovered a new fundamental law of how the world works. He decided to name it Kai's law after much deliberation, he thought it was the best possible name, it totally wasn't because he just wanted his name on it.
Anyway!
Everyone was looking at Kai with a confused look on their faces wondering what he was thinking so deeply about. If they found out… They would probably be dumbfounded at how stupid and egotistical he was. Or maybe they would agree with him completely, most of them were idiots themselves. How troublesome these people were.
"Alas, I have no other choice but to call it Kai's law." Kai mumbled as he 'came to terms' with the fact that he was 'forced' to name his new discovery after himself. The rest of the crew couldn't hear him and when someone was just about to ask him what he was talking about a large crash was heard.
Everyone but Kai had their heads snap in the direction of the sound and saw a large man standing in front of a huge hole in the wall he just made. He scanned the room with narrow eyes. "Where are the Straw Hat Pirates and the marine, Fujin?" He asked in a stone cold voice.
"Marines??!" Nami shouted in fear as she looked at the man standing with his marine coat draped over his shoulders just like Kai's was. Chopper, being the adorable little idiot he is, answered the man. "We're the Straw Hats! And that guy in the mask over there is Fujin!"
The man glared at Kai with serious eyes and a cold stare. "You're the marine who killed a World Government agent?" Kai was abruptly snapped out of his thoughts as he felt he was on the verge of understanding Zoro's law and a tick mark appeared on his forehead. "I was about to discover a new fundamental law of the universe!! What the fuck?" He said in an angry voice.
The man ignored him. "Commander Fujin. Did you kill the leader of CP9?" He said in a stone cold voice. At this point the whole crew other than Luffy was dead serious and ready for a fight. Luffy was still sleep-eating…
Anyway!
Kai met the man's gaze straight on. "Yea, I did." The man held his gaze for a few seconds before finally speaking again. "Bwahahahaha! Good job kid! You saved the entire island of Enies Lobby!" He laughed out loud and Kai responded with his own laugh. "Wahahaha! He did really deserve it!"
The crew was shocked. Who was this old man? Why was he just laughing at Kai killing a member of the world government? Their minds raced at a mile a minute. Finally Franky said. "So THAT'S where Spandex went." Sanji lit a cigarette and nodded sagely before he received a punch to the face from the old man.
Sanji got up and rubbed his head. "What the fuck was that for?" He asked the old man who deadpanned. "I don't know. You just reminded me of someone." Sanji's eyebrow twitched. "So you just hit people you know?"
The man thought for a moment before replying seriously. "Yeah. I do." Sanji's mouth went slack and his cigarette fell to the ground. A voice was heard in the background. "Wahahaha-" It was cut off by a fist to the face.
"What the fuck old man?!! Why do you do that every goddamn time?!?!?!" Kai asked as he climbed out of the rubble in the wall and dusted himself off. The man laughed. "Bwahahaha! I really don't know, kid. But, It's always funny! Hahahaha!" Kai cursed this old man for being such an idiot.
The old man laughed again. "Bwahahahaha!! Oh right, I came here for a reason. Uhh what was it again? Oh right! Fujin, you are to receive your new promotion for saving Enies Lobby from the evil Straw Hat pirates attack. You're going to get another promotion after being promoted to Captain. They want to promote you directly to rear admiral." Kai looked at the old man speaking to him. "No. I don't wanna."
"Bwahahaha! Alright, then you won't get promoted. Also, Monkey D. Luffy, someone wants to meet you!" He said as he looked around the room and saw Luffy still sleep-eating. He smiled and flashed over to Luffy before punching the back of his head making his face crash into the table. "Wake up!! Didn't Dadan teach you guy's not to eat while you sleep?!"
""Luffy!!"" The rest of the crew called out in concern. As they saw their captain being beaten by a marine right in front of them. "OWW!! OOUCCH!! THAT HURTS!!" Luffy screamed as he woke up and held the bump that had already formed on his head.
Sanji looked at Luffy with shock on his face. "Ouch? You're made of rubber, how can a punch hurt you?" The old man laughed loudly. "Bwahahaha!! No one escapes the fist of love!!" He exclaimed in a joyful tone. Kai shuddered hearing this as he remembered all his experience of the 'fist of love'. Even Dragon was scared of it! It was a truly terrifying thing. Possibly more scary than the World Government.
Luffy looked up at the old man behind him with a look of terror on this face. He started shaking violently. "G-grandpa??" He said in a fearful voice. The rest of the crew was shocked. ""GRANDPA???!"" They all called out in sync except Robin. Who just hummed in thought as she started to piece things together.
"Bwahaha! I'm Garp, Luffy's grandpa! And Luffy, I heard you've been doing some reckless things! Attacking a marine base?? What's wrong with you?" Garp asked as he punched Luffy in the head again. At this point Robin had figured it out, she laughed "Nishishishi! That makes so much sense!" The rest of the crew looked at her flabbergasted. "That makes SENSE? What about this makes sense? Luffy's grandpa is the marines HERO!" Nami screamed out.
Robin laughed again and pointed back at them. "Nishishi! Look!" She said, causing the crew to follow where her finger was pointing only to see both Luffy and Garp asleep beside each other. At this point Usopp's fearful shaking lessened as he saw Garp was sleeping. "Is that really Luffy's grandpa?"
"Yeah, he is. Don't mess with him! You'll get killed!" Luffy yelled as he had just woken up. His shout at Usopp caused Garp to wake up. "Damn brat, you woke me up!!" Garp yelled as he punched at Luffy, and Kai for some reason. Kai and Luffy slowly got out of the wall and rubbed their heads. Kai's eyebrow twitched heavily. "Why the fuck does he do that every time?" He asked himself as he knew that at this point asking Garp why he punched him was a lost cause.
Luffy had a scared look on his face as he faced the crew again. "Grandpa has nearly killed me many times." Garp heard this and was shocked. "Hey! Don't say such scandalous things! You make me sound like a bad grandpa! I only pushed you off of bottomless cliffs, threw you into jungles at night, tied you to a balloon and sent you flying and threw you into the ocean after you ate your devil fruit."
Kai flashed over to Garp and smacked the back of his head. "That's exactly what he means, you stupid old man!" Garp looked at Kai confused. "What do you mean? I did that all so that he could become a strong man!" The crew was shocked. Sanji mumbled under his breath so Garp couldn't hear. "No wonder our captain is a monster. I think I just saw the root of his endless lifeforce." The rest of the crew around Sanji nodded in agreement.
"Bwahahaha! Then I entrusted you to my friend for a little while. But as soon as I take my eyes off of you this happens? I trained you to be a strong marine not a dumb pirate!!" Garp shouted as he stared down at Luffy. Luffy rebubbled. "I've always wanted to be a pirate! I want to be free!"
Garp yelled back at Luffy. "BULLSHIT! THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF THAT RED HAIRED BRAT!!" Luffy attempted to stand up to Garp only to falter a little. "Sh-Sh-Shanks saved my life!! Don't speak bad about him!" Garp's face turned angry. "Are you speaking out against your grandfather?!! You can't tell me what to do!!" He yelled as he grabbed Luffy's collar and held his fist up as it turned black.
"Gyaah! I'm sorry!!" Luffy shouted as he held out his hands in front of his face to defend. The crew was shocked by the scene. Nami said. "He doesn't even try to fight against his grandfather. What a scary man." Everyone else nodded in agreement but Chopper shouted. "Oh no! Luffy's been captured by a marine!!"
""ZZZ!!!"" Both Luffy and Garp fell asleep again. Franky's jaw hit the floor. "I've never seen anything like this! What are we supposed to do?" No one responded to his question as they all just stared at Garp who just woke up and said. "Oh crap, I fell asleep again." Garp then looked down at his own hand and saw Luffy sleeping in it.
"Wake up Luffy!!" He yelled as he punched Luffy awake. "How can you fall asleep then I'm in the middle of talking to you! And how dare you tell me what to do!!" He punched Luffy a few more times as he said this. "Gyaah! Ouch Ouch OWW!!" Luffy cried out with each punch he got from Garp.
"Wahahaha!! He looks like he's about to cry!" Kai shouted as he laughed only to get a punch to the face from Garp. "FOR FUCKS SAKE! STOP DOING THAT!" Kai shouted at Garp as he climbed out of another hole he made in the wall. "Bwahahaha! I'll do what I want to, brat!!"
Garp then turned to Luffy. "Do you even know who Red Hair is? Or what kind of guy he is?" Garp asked Luffy. Sanji heard this and whispered to Kai. "I thought you said no spoilers. Why aren't you stopping that old man from telling everyone?" Kai cleared his throat and sweat a bit. "Ahaha. This isn't spoilers, It's just foreshadowing. TOTALLY different." Sanji smirked and elbowed Kai. "Bullshit, you're just scared of that old man."
Kai snapped. "Shut it, Love Cook! You have no idea how much those goddamn fists of love hurt!!" Sanji fell over laughing at his brother. Kai shook his head and lit a cigarette. He was only letting Garp tell everyone because they needed to learn at some point. 'It has nothing to do with me being scared of Garp. Nothing at all.' Kai tried to convince himself.
Kai took a long drag. 'Well MAYBE just a little. But only a tiny bit, I swear.'
